Rishabh Pant Cannot Stop Laughing As He Cooks Pizza: 'Only Thing I Can Do With Broken Foot...'
Rishabh Pant is doing the only thing he can do with a broken foot: Cook a pizza and he seems to be loving it.
Rishabh Pant's England tour may have ended prematurely on a painful note but the India wicketkeeper-batter has found a fun way to pass time while recovering from foot injury he sustained while batting in the 4th Test at Old Trafford. Pant broke his foot after missing a reverse sweep off Chris Woakes with the ball landing on his left boot.
The injury has pushed him into the sidelines for at least six weeks.
The 27-year-old star has shared a clip on his social media handles showing how he's spending the time away from cricket. And in his own words, it's the 'only thing" that he 'can do with a broken foot".
'Today I'm going to show you how to make pizza. Guys, bear with me. I think I'm gonna make vegetarian pizza. I love vegetarian. Yeah, with the truffle. I think two more pizzas and I'll be sorted," Pizza tells the viewers as he kneads and arranges toppings in a kitchen under the supervision of a chef.
'It's hot in here boys!" he quips. 'The pizza is getting ready and I'm going to wait for it. Very hot in here, boys and girls."
While the pizza is getting ready, Pant realises how his mother will react to him cooking the Italian dish.
'That's the only thing I can do with broken foot right now. Baking pizza. Mother must be thinking ' Ghar pe to kuch banaya nahi hai, yaha pizza bana raha hai (Hasn't cooked anything at home and here he's cooking pizza!)," he says.

BCCI announces NEW serious injury replacement rule following Pant's injury in Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy
Rishabh Pant The BCCI has officially added a new clause to its playing conditions for the 2025-26 domestic season, permitting 'Serious Injury Replacements' in multi-day matches. Following the recent Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between India and England, this change marks one of the most important updates to the rules in years. BCCI announced new injury replacement follwoing Pant's injury in Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy The rule was introduced after the dramatic fourth and fifth Tests of the series, in which Rishabh Pant fractured his foot and Chris Woakes dislocated his shoulder, leaving both teams short-handed. While concussion substitutes have been allowed for several years, but there was previously no provision for replacements due to other serious injuries. 'If a player sustains a serious injury during the course of the relevant match, a Serious Injury Replacement may be permitted,' the BCCI's updated Playing Conditions state. The injury must be caused by an external blow, such as a fracture, deep cut, or dislocation, and it must happen on the playing field. The decision to introduce this rule received mixed reactions. India head coach Gautam Gambhir, commenting after Pant's injury in Manchester, expressed his support for the change: 'Absolutely, I'm all for it. If umpires and referees see it's a major injury, why should a team be punished? Imagine playing 10 vs 11 in a closely fought Test. There's nothing wrong with allowing a visible, like-for-like replacement.' England skipper Ben Stokes rejected the idea Meanwhile, England skipper rejected the idea and said, 'It's absolutely ridiculous that there's even a conversation around injury replacements. Injuries are part of the game. I understand concussion replacements for player safety, but this will create loopholes. You pick your eleven; that's it.' Despite Stokes' opinion, his teammate Woakes' shoulder dislocation in the following Test strengthened the demand for rule changes. The BCCI explained that this regulation will not currently apply to white-ball competitions such as the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy or Vijay Hazare Trophy, but rather only to multi-day domestic tournaments like the CK Nayudu Trophy (U19s). Additionally, it does not cover the Indian Premier League (IPL). The BCCI emphasized that the match referee's decision is final and cannot be challenged during a seminar in Ahmedabad where umpires were previously briefed on the rule. India's domestic experiment may lead to broader debates about whether Test cricket should change to protect teams from the setback of premature injuries, even though the International Cricket Council (ICC) has not yet put such a rule into effect.

'He Is A Great Player But...': Irfan Pathan Breaks Silence On His Criticism Of Kohli
Last Updated: Irfan Pathan has Virat Kohli's slump in Tests, emphasising the need to question his form if struggles persist for five years. Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan has said that one can go back to his social media posts during 2019-20 and check how he backed ace batter Virat Kohli during the initial phase of his slump, but if this downward trend continues for five years, then the situation turns against the star player. Pathan was candid in his assessment, saying that it was fair to question Kohli's form and adding that continuing to back a cricketer struggling for almost five years was bound to create issues. 'Virat Kohli had a slump in 2019-2020. You can see my social media from that time, I backed Kohli a lot. I feel that when a big player faces his first slump, he should be backed. He deserves it too, because he won many matches for the team," Pathan said while speaking to Lallantop. 'But if this slump lasts for five years, then it isn't right. In the end, the team is the most important," Pathan added. 'When a player gets out in the same way, the opposing team will get you out with Plan A itself. They will not need to go to Plan B. It is the job of a champion player to take you from Plan A to Plan B," Pathan said. 'The problem with Virat Kohli in Tests was that he was getting out in the same manner. This doesn't mean that he is a bad player. He is a great player. But what is happening is also true," Pathan added. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive. Top shooters, including double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker, Sift Kaur Samra, Arjun Babuta, and Saurabh Chaudhary, will compete for continental accolades as a record 182-member Indian team begins their campaign at the Asian Championships (Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun) in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, on Monday. India is fielding its largest-ever contingent in the tournament, which features competitions across senior, junior, and youth categories. A total of 58 events—46 individual and 12 mixed team—will have medals up for grabs across various categories. In the previous edition in Changwon, India secured 59 medals overall (21 gold, 22 silver, and 16 bronze), including 19 at the senior level. Of these 19 medals, India earned six gold, eight silver, and five bronze, finishing third behind China, who topped the leaderboard with 14 gold (total 33), and South Korea, who claimed nine gold (total 24). India's sole individual gold came in the 50m rifle 3-positions event, where Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar finished at the top. The remaining gold medals were in team and mixed team events, a fact senior shooters will keep in mind during the competition. Manu Bhaker, following her success at the Paris Olympics with a bronze in the women's 10m air pistol individual and mixed team events, aims to win gold after previously securing a team silver in the 25m pistol event at the continental championship. India's squad also includes seasoned 10m air rifle shooters, former world champion Rudrankksh Patil, and Olympian Arjun Babuta, along with Asian Games gold medallist in the 10m air pistol event, Saurabh Chaudhary, who is making a comeback. In the 25m rapid-fire pistol event, Olympian Anish Bhanwala will lead the charge, while Manu Bhaker will compete for medals in both the 10m air pistol and 25m pistol events. Besides competitors from China and Korea, India will face challenges from hosts Kazakhstan, who have the second-largest contingent with 111 entries. Korea (70), China (41), Iran (29), Chinese Taipei (24), and Vietnam (20) also have strong teams. India will field five shooters in each senior category event, with three competing for medals and the remaining two for ranking points. In the junior section, six shooters will compete per event, with three vying for medals and the others participating for qualification and ranking. While most Indian shooters will compete in Olympic disciplines, several will also participate in non-Olympic events such as centre-fire, standard, free pistol, rifle prone, and double trap.
