David Harbour ditches his smart phone

David Harbour often ditches his smart phone for months at a time because it helps him focus on "the things that are important".
The Stranger Things star has revealed he regularly gives himself a digital detox by swapping his device for an old-fashioned flip phone which isn't connected to the Internet because it takes his focus off replying to emails and online shoppping.
He told Interview magazine: "I go through phases where I get rid of it entirely and go flip phone ... Having a flip phone is an amazing experience because you actually have to call people, and you don't deal with emails until you get home ...
"I've gone four or five months at a time ... I think it's a product of the [smart] phone that you think you need those things [like emails].
"When you have the flip phone, you just forget about the thing you wanted to buy, and the things that are important rise to the surface."
David - who split from his pop star wife Lily Allen last year - went on to reveal he's also taken a big step back from social media recently.
He added: "Early on, I was so enamored by the spotlight. I'd be like: 'Come on in, let me show you my world.'
"And then you start to get sour on the amount of work it takes, and you're like: 'Man, I got into this business so that I could reveal aspects of myself through characters whose stories are much more interesting than mine, so why don't I just focus on telling those stories?'
"Now my Instagram is literally advertisements for my projects ...
"It's just posters, and I guess studios care about the number of followers and things like that ...
"I think eventually I'll just give it over to a publicity person and allow it to function as a facade for however people want to view me ... I mean, it's the same as studios putting your face on a poster."
David went on to reveal he's enjoyed being busy recently - shooting the new series of Stranger Things as well as his movie Thunderbolts - because he goes "little stir-crazy" when he's on his own, but he's enjoyed spending time at his home in Atlanta where he's been growing fruit and vegetables in the garden.
The actor explained he's been soaking up the "hippie" vibes and making friends with neighbours which has been a different experience to living full-time in New York City.

Lily Allen ranks people she likes in order of how much she adores them

Lily Allen ranks her friends by how much she likes them. The 40-year-old singer even admitted she sends a list of her top pals to her assistant so she can schedule FaceTime video calls for the ones she's interested in speaking to. Speaking on the later episode of her and Miquita Oliver's Miss Me? podcast, she revealed: "I create lists of people who I like in order of how much I like them. "And I send that list to my assistant and just ask her to schedule the time for me to have FaceTime with them." A shocked Miquita quipped: "Are you joking? I was like, 'What the f*** are you talking about?' ] "And where am I on that b***** list?" Lily lives in New York and Miquita - who lives in London - said FaceTime has been "integral" in their friendship, though they don't chat as much as they used to because of their commitment to the podcast. Miquita added: "FaceTime was a very, very big integral part of Lily and I's love for each other and continuing love and friendship before Miss Me? "I would say Miss Me? has s*** on that a little bit, just a little bit because now we're like, 'I've already FaceTimed you, I don't need to FaceTime you tomorrow." Miquita never hesitates to video call the Smile hitmaker when she is missing her friend. The 41-year-old radio personality said: "But one thing I don't do is wait for Lily to FaceTime me if I miss her, I just b***** f****** FaceTime her." Lily is doing a social media detox, and she recently compared ditching the online world to "withdrawing from drugs". The 'Lost My Mind' hitmaker - who split from 50-year-old husband David Harbour last year - said on the Miss Me? podcast last month: "I think, like, the beginning of last week, I was feeling incredibly low, like lower than I felt in months. It was extremely heavy. This was like a different kind of sadness, heaviness, loneliness, whatever. "And then I realised, maybe, this is because I'm not filling the gaps with scrolling. I've suddenly got this time for, like, reflection or, do you know what I mean? "Because I don't have that much to do here in New York during the day. I run, sort of like, various errands, and I get food ready for the girls when they get home from school, and I meet up with people for lunch, and I'm very active in my recovery. But in terms of work, there's not much going on. "And so I guess I would find myself sitting on Instagram and scrolling, or being narcissistic and posting and reading my responses to my - getting that dopamine fix. "And I haven't had it for nearly two weeks. And I think it made me initially really sad. "I think I was having, like, withdrawal symptoms from it. "It was horrible. I mean, I really did feel like I was withdrawing from drugs or something. It was crazy. "But it took me a minute to think, 'Oh, yeah, it's probably that."

Dua Lipa confirms engagement to Callum Turner

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner are engaged. The Levitating singer's fans spotted she was wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger in an Instagram post on Christmas Eve (24.12.24), and she's now confirmed the 35-year-old actor popped the question with a custom piece of jewellery he had made with the advice of her sister Rina and her best friends. Dua told the new issue of Britain's Vogue magazine: "Yeah, we're engaged. It's very exciting." Of her ring, she added: 'I'm obsessed with it. It's so me. It's nice to know the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.' However, the couple - who began dating in January 2024 - have yet to set a wedding date because of their busy work schedules. Dua, 29, said: 'I want to finish my tour, Callum's shooting, so we're just enjoying this period. "I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. "All of a sudden I'm like: 'Oh, what would I wear?'' Although Dua has seen people get engaged in the past, she had "never really understood the weight of it' but now she thinks committing to another person is "special". She said: 'This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever – it's a really special feeling.' The Dance the Night Away hitmaker is keen to have a family of her own but admitted she doesn't know when would be a "good time" because of the demands of her pop career. She said: "I'd love to have kids one day. But it's like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time – how it would fit in with my job and how it would work if I went on tour, and how much time out I'd have to take. "I think it's just one of those things that's going to happen when it happens. I love kids, but I think there's so much more to raising a child than just loving children.' Dua and Callum had "many Sliding Doors moments", where they were in the same place at the same time without realising, before being introduced to one another at the River Cafe in London. A year later, she was having dinner in Los Angeles with her friend Mustafa the Poet when "all of a sudden" Callum appeared. She thought: 'Oh, it's that really hot guy from The River Cafe.' During their conversation, the pair realised they both "just happened to be reading" Hernan Diaz's novel Trust. Asked if she feels they were destined to be together, she replied: 'One thousand per cent.'

Will Smith rocked London with a surprise street performance

Will Smith electrified London with a surprise street performance on Wednesday (11.06.25) evening. Crowds flocked to the impromptu show outside of the city's King's Cross Station, where the 56-year-old star teamed up with DJ AG for a live rendition of his and Jazzy Jeff's hit Summertime - which was released in 1991 under Will's Fresh Prince alias - and the theme from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Those lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Will's surprise set shared their videos on social media, delighting even more fans. One person said on Instagram: "Legendary moment." A TikTok user wrote: "This is so nice to see, DJ AG you've come a LONG WAY!! Big up Will Smith and DJ AG every time." Another person on the video-based platform penned: "Wow, Will Smith this is incredible. This is amazing. I'm so jealous." Special guest Rita Ora suddenly rocked up and displayed some dance moves as Will and DJ AG got the crowd dancing and singing. And after Will was whisked away in a car, Rita performed some of her hit tracks, including Hot Right Now and R.I.P. Singer Jamelia hyped up the vast crowds before Will's surprise performance at 6pm. She sang her much-loved track Superstar, as well as her popular song Thank You. Will's appearance comes as he prepared to reunite with DJ Jazzy Jeff to play at Capital's Summertime Ball with Barclaycard at Wembley Stadium on Sunday (15.06.25). The star never did headline shows when he was part of hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, who were responsible for creating hits including Boom! Shake the Room and Summertime. Will recently released his first full-length album in 20 years, Based on a True Story, and he is thrilled to be going on a global tour to support his new LP, as well as treat audiences with nostalgic hits. Appearing on the Broken Record Podcast, the star said: "This will be the first time ever that we put together a tour, and I get to headline a world tour. "I have my 90 minutes, I had never been on stage for 90 minutes before. "So I did two shows in San Diego a couple of months ago, it was wild. "The world is so desperate for nostalgia right now. "The world wants that so bad, and it's like people [are] just yearning for, you know, a time when things were a little bit easier."
