MACC probes RM180m data centre graft case, 20 more witnesses
MACC Investigation Division senior director Datuk Zainul Darus confirmed that statements from 12 individuals have already been recorded.
Three suspects—a project manager and two company directors—remain under remand, while a female suspect was released after her remand order expired.
'So far, there have been no new arrests in this case,' Zainul said when contacted.
Earlier reports revealed shocking details, including an attempt by one suspect to burn nearly RM1 million in cash during an MACC raid under Op Ways.
Officers discovered the money in flames at a Petaling Jaya residence.
Further searches uncovered RM7.5 million in cash hidden in pillow boxes, along with luxury watches and jewellery.

Lorry Owner Fined For Trying To Move Logs Without Removal Pass
KOTA KINABALU, July 29 (Bernama) -- The owner of two timber lorries was fined RM1,600 after they were found trying to move 59 logs without a removal pass in an operation in Kampung Randagong, Ranau at 1.30 am last Wednesday (July 23). Sabah Forestry Department (JPS) chief conservator of forests Datuk Frederick Kugan said the JPS, in collaboration with the General Operations Force (GOP) through 'Operation Khazanah', had detained the two lorries which were found to be moving between 7 pm and 7 am without permission. Pahang MACC director Shukor Mahmud confirmed the arrests of four men when contacted. PETALING JAYA : The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Pahang has arrested two senior police officers and a retired officer for allegedly soliciting and receiving RM110,000 in bribes to protect drug and ketum distribution activities in the state. Bernama reported that a source said the three men were arrested at around 8.30pm yesterday after arriving at MACC's Temerloh branch to provide statements. A fourth suspect was arrested earlier. MACC believes all four colluded in the illegal activity from 2022 to 2024. 'One of the suspects is believed to have received monthly bribes amounting to between RM4,000 and RM5,000 through bank transfers into his personal account, which he then distributed to others,' the source said. One of the suspects had been released on MACC bail after his statement was recorded. The remaining three are currently under a seven-day remand order until Aug 4. Pahang MACC director Shukor Mahmud confirmed the arrests when contacted.

TEMERLOH: Three senior police officers, including a retired officer, have been remanded for seven days to assist in investigations into allegations of pocketing bribes totalling RM110,000 to protect drug and ketum juice distribution activities across Pahang. The suspects, aged between 30 and 50, were remanded until Aug 4 following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at the Temerloh magistrate's court today. Magistrate Tan Chiew King granted the remand order at 10am today. According to a source, the trio were detained around 8.30pm yesterday when they arrived at the MACC Temerloh branch office to provide their statements. "MACC's investigations led to the arrest of four suspects, all of whom are believed to have conspired to solicit and accept bribes between 2022 and 2024. "One of them is believed to have received monthly bribes amounting to between RM4,000 and RM5,000 through bank transfers into his account. The money was later distributed to the other three suspects through their respective personal bank accounts," the source said. Meanwhile, Pahang MACC director Mohd Shukor Mahmud confirmed the arrests, saying that the case is being investigated under Section 16(a)(B) of the MACC Act 2009 for soliciting a bribe. He said the fourth suspect has been released on MACC bail after providing his statement to the agency. Under Section 16(a)(B), offernders face a maximum jail term of 20 years and a fine of RM10,000, or five times the value of the bribe, whichever is higher, if convicted.
