Cabinet gives its nod to ‘Child Protection Policy'
LAHORE: In a significant move, the Punjab Cabinet has accorded approval to the province first-ever 'Child Protection Policy,' developed by the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau with technical support from Unicef Pakistan.
This milestone sets a new benchmark for child welfare in Pakistan and reflects Punjab's unwavering commitment to securing a safe, nurturing, and just environment for every child.
Expressing profound gratitude, Chairperson Sarah Ahmad said, 'I extend my heartfelt thanks to Chief Minister Punjab, Honourable Maryam Nawaz, for her steadfast dedication and leadership in championing the cause of children. The approval of this policy by the Punjab Cabinet is not just a policy decision it is a beacon of hope and a historic milestone for the protection and empowerment of our children.'

She outlined that the provincial cabinet of Punjab has approved the 'Child Protection Policy' for the first time in Pakistan. Every institution, every law and every step of the Punjab government is aligned for the rights, protection and welfare of the children. President, PM pay tribute to security forces

LHC directs removal of name from ECL
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed the secretary interior to remove the name of petitioner Shahid Javed from the Exit Control List (ECL). Earlier a law officer told the court that the petitioner's name was put on the ECL on the recommendation of Home Secretary Punjab. The court asked the law officer whether the recommendation of a provincial officer is binding on the federal government. The law officer informed the court that the petitioner is on bail and could slip abroad. The court said how the government could restrain a person on bail from going abroad.
