Rageh Omaar returns to ITV's News at Ten after illness on live programme
The ITV News international affairs editor, 57, featured in a prerecorded package on west Africa on ITV's News at Ten on Friday evening.
It is understood to be the first foreign assignment he has undertaken for the programme since an incident last April when he appeared shaky and had difficulty reading the news fluently.
He was taken to hospital and given 'medical treatment' for an undisclosed condition.
The incident caused widespread concern from viewers on social media and a rerun of the news programme was pulled from ITV's +1 channel.
In a statement, Omaar said at the time: 'I would like to thank everyone for their kindness and good wishes, especially all the medical staff, all my wonderful colleagues at ITV News, and our viewers who expressed concern.
'At the time, I was determined to finish presenting the programme. I am grateful for all the support I've been given.'
Omaar is understood to have been gradually returning to work over the past few weeks, appearing on online platforms such as ITVX.
A video released on ITV News's YouTube account on Friday showed Omaar interviewing Ivorian businessman Tidjane Thiam, the leader of PDCI-RDA, the main opposition party in Ivory Coast.
Omaar covers major news stories across the world, and presents ITV's current affairs programme On Assignment.

He joined ITV in 2013 as a special correspondent and presenter for ITV News, having begun his career as a print journalist in 1990 at the Voice newspaper in London before moving to Ethiopia as a freelance foreign correspondent.
He became a household name during the 2003 invasion of Iraq while reporting for the BBC from a hotel rooftop in Baghdad, winning a best TV news journalist prize at the Ethnic Multicultural Media Academy that year.

In July, the BBC announced that two 'incredible' new professional dancers, US-born Alexis Warr and Australian dancer Julian Caillon, would be joining the show, which starts this autumn. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are back to present with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas returning as judges. Strictly will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer for its new series this September.

Princess Andre has admitted that she goes to her stepmum Emily for advice about her love life. The daughter of Peter Andre and Katie Price, who recently turned 18, made the revelation in her new ITV show, The Princess Diaries. It follows Princess's life as she turns 18 and tries to find her place in the world - and it is also notably when she is mourning the loss of her two-year relationship. She says: 'Ems gives the best advice - I feel like if I'm ever in a situation I don't want to talk to dad about, I'll speak to Ems about it.' Emily MacDonagh, 35, is 52-year-old Peter's second wife and the pair share three children Amelia, 11, Theo, nine, and Arabella, 13 months. Princess also described the impact her mother's subsequent chaotic romances and lifestyle had on her growing up. She told how Katie fell into a 'dark' place following her 2018 split from third husband Kieran Hayler - who she shares Bunny, 10, and Jett, 11, with - after she discovered he had been unfaithful throughout their marriage. Katie herself has previously admitted to attempting suicide and relying on drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism at the time, and now Princess has told how it affected her. Princess revealed on the show how she has a counsellor and previously 'couldn't just go to my dad' due to her parents, who split in 2009, 'not liking each other'. 'She [Katie] is so unpredictable and she lives life and doesn't care,' said Princess. 'I love that, I'd love that mindset of I don't care because deep down I do, I'll get to bed and cry about it.
