HYBE America CEO Scooter Braun steps down hours after BTS reveal full-group comeback
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the update came during an internal call with employees on July 1, where Braun, dialling in from vacation, confirmed that the shift had been 'in the works for quite some time.' For years, Braun has been a controversial figure in the music industry. His ties with Korea's biggest K-pop agency have also drawn heat from Korean netizens and BTS fans, with some even calling for boycotts over political and artist-related issues, especially considering his rocky history with artists like Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber, among others.

In 2021, HYBE CEO and chairman Bang Si Hyuk announced his collaboration with Braun after the latter's Ithaca Holdings LLC was sold to the company. It was a strategic move by the Korean music mogul to expand overseas activities and debut new groups aimed at the American market, like the girl group Katseye, with whom Braun is still very much involved. 'I'm not going anywhere,' Braun reportedly told staff. 'I'll still help guide the artists.'
However, with this shift, his management era is officially over, closing a big chapter of his career, one that first kicked off with names like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and J Balvin. HYBE is now going forward with Isaac Lee, former chairman of HYBE Latin America, as the new CEO of HYBE America. Lee will be in charge of handling U.S. operations, including Big Machine Label Group and Quality Control Media Holdings.

Meanwhile, Braun hasn't said a word about what his next career move is, only hinting that he's looking at 'new ventures'. Announcing his new role as one of the agency's biggest shareholders, he said, 'Being a part of HYBE and witnessing its remarkable growth has been one of the most inspiring chapters of my professional journey. Chairman Bang is a true visionary and a musical genius. What he has built with HYBE is unparalleled. I am incredibly proud of our collective accomplishments and look forward to supporting Chairman Bang and CEO Jason Jaesang Lee in their continued success as I step into what's next.'
Meanwhile, Bang also released a statement praising Braun and said, 'Scooter has been an extraordinary partner, a visionary executive, and a true catalyst for cultural exchange. His contributions have been vital in establishing our ambitious presence in the U.S. market. I am deeply grateful for his leadership, his astute instincts and his unwavering passion for artists. We wish him immense success in his exciting next chapter and look forward to continuing our partnership in executing HYBE's global vision.' Scooter Braun recently made headlines for his split with Bieber after reports emerged about a $20 million financial fallout due to the cancelled Justice tour. While fans may wonder if his exit is tied to controversies, for now, he is still in the mix, just no longer calling the shots as CEO.

Sean Diddy Combs first reaction after verdict: American rapper pumps fist at courtroom, looks satisfied
Sean Diddy Combs verdict was out on Wednesday and American rapper's first reactions have been baffling. Sean 'Diddy' Combs dropped to his knees and prayed in the courtroom. 55-year-old later continued to pump his right fist subtly, seemingly satisfied that he was acquitted on the most serious charges. The emphatic reactions came after he was acquitted Wednesday of sex trafficking and racketeering charges that could have put one of hip-hop's most celebrated figures behind bars for life. The rapper was convicted of lesser prostitution-related offenses and still faces prison time but might be released on bail. The mixed result capped a sordid legal odyssey that shattered Combs' affable 'Puff Daddy' image and derailed his career as a Grammy-winning artist and music executive, fashion entrepreneur, brand ambassador and reality TV star. As each juror affirmed agreement with the verdict, Combs looked toward the jury and held his hands up in a prayer motion, and he hugged defense lawyer Teny Geragos. Combs' relatives and supporters in the audience could barely contain their relief, despite the judge's admonition to avoid outbursts: When the first 'not guilty' was read aloud, someone shouted, 'Yeah!' Combs appeared overwhelmed as court adjourned for a few hours. He wiped his face, turning and kneeling at his chair, his head bowed in prayer. In the audience, his relatives stood and applauded as he faced them. Live Events 'I'll be home soon," he said, and 'I love you, baby.' 'I love you, Mom," he added. His relatives applauded him and his lawyers, some of whom had tears in their eyes, as he was led out of court. Sean Diddy Combs Verdict Highlights Combs was convicted of flying people around the country, including his girlfriends and paid male sex workers, to engage in sexual encounters, a felony violation of the federal Mann Act. But the jury of eight men and four women acquitted Combs of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges, related to allegations that he used his money, power and frightening physical force to manipulate his girlfriends into hundreds of drug-fueled sex marathons with the men. Combs' defense team argued that the women were willing participants and that none of his violence justified the severity of the charges. Marc Agnifilo, a lawyer for Combs, asked that his client be immediately released because the federal Mann Act crimes were of a 'vastly different nature' than sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. Combs has been behind bars since his September arrest. Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey said he should remain incarcerated as a danger to the community and a threat to flee. She cited evidence of physical abuse and 'prolific use and distribution of drugs' that emerged during the trial. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian said he wouldn't decide whether to free Combs on bail until later in the day after lawyers submit written arguments. FAQs Q1.
