Veteran Actor Sayed Sadek Passes Away at 80

Veteran Egyptian actor Sayed Sadek, known for his striking features and memorable supporting roles, has passed away at the age of 80, his son, screenwriter Louay El Sayed, confirmed. Funeral prayers will be held today following Friday prayers at the Police Mosque in Sheikh Zayed City, with burial planned at the Fayoum Road Cemetery. Despite holding only a high school diploma, Sadeq carved out a successful acting career marked by his unique presence. His career spanned both cinema and television, featuring notable work in films such as 'Keda Reda', 'El Embrator', 'Hassan and Marcus' and 'Fawzia the Bourgeoisie'. He also appeared in several popular TV series, including 'Yetrebi Fi Ezzo' and 'Fere'et Nagy Attallah'.
Sadek's contributions to Egyptian drama were also recognised beyond the screen, having recently received a special honour at the second Cairo Drama Festival in Alamein two years ago.

Ruby Returns with New Single "Thanyetain"
Yara Sameh Egyptian singer-actress Ruby released Thursday her new single "Thanyetain" on YouTube and digital platforms. It is by the lyrics of Ahmed Tarek Yehia and composed by Filipino. Rania Hussein Mohammed Tawfik, known as Ruby, rose to fame with her debut single 'Enta Aref Leih' (Do You Know Why?) in 2003, which was directed by Sherif Sabri. The music video for 'Enta Aref Leih' was a hit on most satellite music channels in the Middle East during that summer. In 2000, Ruby made her acting debut in the Egyptian film 'Film Saqafi' (Cultural Film). She is best known for her roles in TV productions such as 'Shaqah 6' (2021), 'Aho Da Elly Saar' (2019), 'Ramadan Kareem' (2017), 'Segn El-Nisaa' (2014), and 'Bedoun Zikr Asma' (2013).
