Denis Bouanga's 1 goal, 2 assists help LAFC beat Sporting KC 3-1

Denis Bouanga had a goal and two assists, Eddie Segura scored his first goal since 2020 and Los Angeles FC extended its unbeaten streak to nine games with a 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City on Sunday night. Bouanga converted from the penalty spot in the 59th to give LAFC (7-4-5), which had 56% possession and outshot Kansas City 21-5, a 2-1 lead. Dejan Joveljic scored a goal for the fourth consecutive game when he ran onto a through ball played ahead by Manu García, exploded into the area and scored from near the penalty spot to make it 1-0 in the 39th minute. The 25-year-old Joveljic, who scored 15 goals and had six assists last season and was acquired in February from the LA Galaxy in exchange for $4 million, is tied for third in MLS with 10 goals this season — five in the past four games. Segura slipped a header — off a corner kick played into the center of the area by Bouanga — inside the back post in first-half stoppage time to make it 1-1 at halftime. Olivier Giroud capped the scoring in the third minute of stoppage time, the 38-year-old's second consecutive game with a goal. John Pulskamp had four saves for Sporting. Hugo Lloris stopped one shot for LAFC. Kansas City (4-9-4) beat Houston 3-1 last time out to snap a four-game winless streak. LAFC beat Sporting 2-0 on March 22.

Blockbuster NBA Trade Idea Has 76ers Land $220 Million Superstar for Paul George

Blockbuster NBA Trade Idea Has 76ers Land $220 Million Superstar for Paul George originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Paul George's first season with the Philadelphia 76ers didn't turn out the way the franchise thought it would. Due to injuries to George, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers missed the playoffs. The outcome was far from being title contenders, the reason why the star forward joined the organization. Advertisement On the bright side, Philly secured the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. They could either use it to draft a promising prospect or put it in a trade package and acquire another All-Star player. There have been speculations on what the Sixers should do with the draft pick. If the team decides to strike a deal with another franchise and trade the pick, Bleacher Report's Andy Bailey has a suggestion. Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George controls the ball against Phoenix Suns forward Ryan Streicher-Imagn Images According to Bailey's trade proposal, the Sixers could consider making a deal with the Phoenix Suns. Using the No. 3 pick, packaged with George and a few other future draft picks, they could convince the Western Conference team to trade All-Star guard Devin Booker. Advertisement "Adding that pick to two more firsts and a far-future pick swap would give the Suns a good batch of draft assets to tip off a rebuild. And trading George somewhere down the line for more assets wouldn't be out of the question either," Bailey wrote. With Booker, the 76ers are secure over the next three seasons. The former Kentucky guard has three years left in his four-year, $220 million contract. Also, the Sixers could be a better team for the 6-foot-6 guard, since they are aiming to contend for the title. It will also be an easier situation for Philly to dump George's four-year, $212 million maximum contract. The veteran forward will be 36 years old by the time he finishes the third year of his deal. Additionally, the nine-time All-Star's recent injury woes won't be helpful for the Sixers in the future. NBA Trade Rumors Buzzing Around 76ers Ahead of Draft

NBA Trade Rumors Buzzing Around 76ers Ahead of Draft originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Philadelphia 76ers were rewarded with the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft lottery after missing the playoffs for the first time since 2018. On paper, the 76ers had one of the best star trios in Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey. However, injuries prevented the team from reaching its true potential in their first year together. Advertisement Because they secured a top-three pick for the upcoming draft, the Sixers can do two things with it. The organization could either use the pick and draft a young prospect or trade for additional assets. Using the latter would strengthen their roster and give them more depth to contend for a championship. Philadelphia 76ers president of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey speaks with the Streicher-Imagn Images According to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, there's a belief among some league executives that the 76ers will trade back ahead of the draft. "NBA teams are pondering what the Sixers will do in the upcoming draft. Regardless of what Daryl Morey states publicly, some league executives believe trade-back talks could occur before the draft," Pompey posted on X. "One executive said a couple of teams behind the Sixers in the draft are doing heavy research on the possibility of moving up to No. 3." The Sixers have enough star power to make noise and be championship contenders. However, injuries have prevented the team from asserting dominance and reaching a certain level of power in the NBA. Advertisement Using the pick could be a safer bet for the Sixers since it would secure the team's future. That is if they potentially move on from Embiid and trade George with his $212 million contract.
