Hulk Hogan felt 'embarrassed' and 'weak' days before WWE star's death
Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24 at the age of 71, and his friend Eric Bischoff has since shared details of his last-ever conversation with the WWE star Hulk Hogan felt "weak" and "embarrassed" shortly before he passed away, a friend has shared. The wrestling icon died from a heart attack on 24 July, aged 71, and his close mate Eric Bischoff has now revealed details of his final meeting with Hogan, who was 'embarrassed' to be seen by his pal. Speaking on the 83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff podcast, he said: "I could tell he was weak. He sounded tired. [Hogan] said, 'I really want to see you, but I'm kind of embarrassed for you to see me this way because I've been pretty sick.' When I look at you, I don't see the same thing you see when you look in the mirror, so f*** that, I'll be down Monday." Despite his health battles, Hogan's personality still shone through in their chats. Eric shared: "It was work for him to have a conversation, but he was the same guy." Earlier this week, Brooke Hogan took to social media to pay tribute to her dad and reflect on their turbulent relationship. The 37-year-old star wrote on Instagram: "When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him. I felt it before the news even reached us. "I know he's at peace now, out of pain, and in a place as beautiful as he imagined. He used to speak about this moment with such wonder and hope. Like meeting God was the greatest championship he'd ever have." The upload showed a sweet reel of images of the pair with Stevie Nicks' Crystal playing over the top. Brooke also used her post to "clear a few things up" regarding their estrangement. The reality star wrote: "It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand. "My father was confiding in me about issues weighing on his heart, both personal and business. I offered to be a life raft in whatever capacity he needed. I told him he had my support. I begged him to rest, to take care of himself." Brooke and her spouse, Steven Olesky, had actually relocated nearer to the wrestling legend as he struggled with health issues. She explained: "We had been through almost 25 surgeries together, and then all of a sudden he didn't want me at started getting covered in a thick veil. It was like there was a force field around him that I couldn't get through. (sic)". The post comes just months after Brooke revealed that she was estranged from her father, as well as her mother Linda. On March 26, Brooke's mum Linda shared a heartfelt Instagram story that revealed her daughter cutting ties with her eight years before. She claimed that ex-husband Hulk caused the family feud, however Brooke hit back and revealed more about the family drama. "I have completely separate reasons for going no contact with each of my parents. No contact with my Mom has nothing to do with my Dad, and no contact with my Father has nothing to do with my Mother," she wrote.

Home Bargains' 'gorgeous' £6 bag is 'just like' £100 version
The Home Bargains bag could easily be mistaken for a much more expensive version Home Bargains is selling a new bag that could easily be mistaken for a much more expensive version. The budget retailer is well known for selling cheaper alternatives for luxury products - and now there might be a new favourite on shelves. Home Bargains' new Originals bag is priced at £6. It looks strikingly similar to a style by Bogg Bag but without the larger price tag. The two bags share a number of similarities, both featuring matching shapes and waterproof, washable plastic material. They both also feature almost identical designs with holes on both sides and matching handles. However, there are also some differences, including that the more expensive version features the brand's name along the base. The Home Bargains bag is also missing the 'b' sign on the handles. Home Bargains recently shared a clip showcasing its new addition to its official Instagram page. The video was captioned: "New in and only £6 - The only bag you'll need this summer!" The short clip featured the bag in blue, pink and white. Text over the footage read: "The bag that EVERYONE will ask about." The post racked up more than 1,300 likes and many comments from excited fans. Among them, one person said: "Love" and a second wrote: "Home Bargains that price is fantastic." A third impressed shopper added: "Ooooh I sense a new viral must have" while a fourth said: "I had one similar in early 80s for school." A fifth wrote: "They are going to be everywhere." The praise continued, with one shopper writing: "Omg!!! Need." and a second saying: "Love them." One person tagged a friend and wrote: "It'll match our Crocs." Another said: "Omg Bogg bag [alternative]! Absolutely need!" while a different shopper wrote: "I want one so bad." Praising the bag, one person added: "I need it! Gorgeous", while another, tagging a friend, said: "Perfect to match your Crocs for holidays." While the Home Bargains bag is priced at £6, the Bogg Bag Original comes in at £101.14 on Amazon. This means shoppers could save around £95 by opting for the cheaper alternative.

Helen Garner praises Dua Lipa as ‘serious and sensitive' after musician adds Australian author to her book club
Helen Garner has praised Dua Lipa as a 'serious and sensitive' interviewer after being announced as the British superstar added Garner's 2014 courtroom drama to her monthly book club. The Melbourne author's This House of Grief will be the first Australian inclusion on the popular list, taking Garner's 2014 non-fiction courtroom drama to the singer's growing global audience. Lipa said Garner's book offered a 'sharp and forensic analysis of the human condition,' announcing the selection in an Instagram post. 'Although Helen has been writing for almost 50 years, her work is new to me and it's a thrilling discovery,' Lipa wrote. 'She's one of the most fascinating writers I have come across in recent years, and I'm sure that, like me, you'll find yourself diving into her back catalogue.' Garner will join 23 high-profile authors championed by Lipa after the August publication of the interview, which the author described as 'fruitful'. 'I found her an impressive person, serious and sensitive and deeply interested in the difficult questions that the book raises,' Garner said. This article includes content provided by Instagram. Lipa foreshadowed Garner's addition ahead of her interview series' move to streaming on Spotify in June. 'It wouldn't be my book pile without at least one harrowing story,' Lipa said at the time. Garner won international acclaim for This House of Grief, a retelling of the trial of Victorian man Robert Farquharson over the murder of his three sons. Farquharson drove his three children into a dam in south-western Victoria in 2005. The book received special mention in Garner's 2016 win of the US$150,000 (A$207,633) Windham-Campbell literary prize. The author first thought the award was hoax after an email in her junk folder from someone at Yale University who had 'good news' and wanted her phone number, she said at the time. Garner, 82, came to local prominence after the 1977 publication of Monkey Grip but has enjoyed soaring popularity outside Australia in the last decade. New editions of several of Garner's books were republished in the UK and US in 2023 and 2024. Lipa shared a preview of her analysis announcing This House of Grief's selection on Instagram. '[Garner's] not looking for monsters – her interest lies with ordinary people who seem to have been pushed beyond their emotional limits,' Lipa wrote. 'As the trial progresses, I found myself questioning my own reactions, asking myself less, 'Did he do it?' and instead, 'Is it possible to have empathy for this man, even if he did the worst thing imaginable?'.' The 29-year-old singer has attracted more than 450,000 Instagram followers and nearly 100,000 YouTube subscriptions to her Service95 platform, which launched monthly book club picks in 2023. Authors of each of Lipa's monthly book picks have sat for extended interviews with the singer, analysing their work and sharing music recommendations. The lone exception is Gabriel Garcia Marquez, author of 1967's One Hundred Years of Solitude, who died in 2014. Garner's is the 24th book to be included and the first by an Australian author, in a list dominated by American books but spanning Patrick Radden Keefe's Say Nothing to Guadalupe Nettel's Still Born. Lipa has previously singled out Albanian author Ismail Kadare as a personal inspiration, saying the novelist's work encouraged her connection with her Kosovan-Albanian heritage in a keynote speech for the Booker Prize 2022 ceremony. 'I often wonder if authors realise just how many gifts they give us,' she said.
