Five arrested over protests at Gal Gadot's London film set
Five protesters have been arrested after they allegedly targeted the filming of Gal Gadot's new movie in central London.
Demonstrators have disrupted filming at various locations across London in recent weeks, the Metropolitan Police said.
The force said the film was targeted 'solely because an actress involved in the production is Israeli'.
The 40-year-old, who has been vocal in her support of Israel, is currently be filming thriller The Runner, and was seen in action on London's central canals earlier this month, when a protest halted production.
Police were deployed to a filming location in Westminster on Wednesday to identify suspects wanted in connection with offences at earlier protests and to deal with any new offences, Scotland Yard said.
Five people were arrested for harassment and offences under Section 241 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act, which deals with wrongfully and unlawfully obstructing access to a workplace. They remain in custody.
Two of the arrests relate to incidents at previous protests while three relate to offences that took place on Wednesday, the force said.
Superintendent Neil Holyoak said: 'While we absolutely acknowledge the importance of peaceful protest, we have a duty to intervene where it crosses the line into serious disruption or criminality.
'We have been in discussions with the production company to understand the impact of the protests on their work and on any individuals involved.
'I hope today's operation shows we will not tolerate the harassment of or unlawful interference with those trying to go about their legitimate professional work in London.' More Trending
On May 1 police were pictured in a commotion on Camden Road, just above the canal where filming was taking place.

Gadot – who stars in the film alongside Damien Lewis – was escorted off set and replaced by a body double as activists waved flags, banged drums and shouted 'stop bombing Palestine' through a megaphone, it was reported at the time.
The actor, who previously served in the Israeli Defence Forces, has previously voiced her support for Israel amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, leading to heated criticism.
This comes after the Disney revamp of Snow White, released in March, faced boycott calls with pro-Palestine groups protesting against the Wonder Woman star's casting in the film as the Evil Queen.

OBITUARY Stanley Fischer, former Fed vice chair and Bank of Israel chief, dies at 81
JERUSALEM, June 1 (Reuters) - Stanley Fischer, who helped shape modern economic theory during a career that included heading the Bank of Israel and serving as vice chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve, has died at the age of 81. The Bank of Israel said he died on Saturday night but did not give a cause of death. Fischer was born in Zambia and had dual U.S.-Israeli citizenship. As an academic at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Fischer trained many of the people who went on to be top central bankers, including former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke as well as Mario Draghi, the former European Central Bank president. Fischer served as chief economist at the World Bank, and first deputy managing director at the International Monetary Fund during the Asian financial crisis and was then vice chairman at Citigroup from 2002 to 2005. During an eight-year stint as Israel's central bank chief from 2005-2013, Fischer helped the country weather the 2008 global financial crisis with minimal economic damage, elevating Israel's economy on the global stage, while creating a monetary policy committee to decide on interest rates like in other advanced economies. He was vice chair of the Federal Reserve from 2014 to 2017 and served as a director at Bank Hapoalim ( opens new tab in 2020 and 2021. Current Bank of Israel Governor Amir Yaron praised Fischer's contribution to the Bank of Israel and to advancing Israel's economy as "truly significant". The soft-spoken Fischer - who played a role in Israel's economic stabilisation plan in 1985 during a period of hyperinflation - was chosen by then Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as central bank chief. Netanyahu, now prime minister, called Fischer a "great Zionist" for leaving the United States and moving to Israel to take on the top job at Israel's central bank. "He was an outstanding economist. In the framework of his role as governor, he greatly contributed to the Israeli economy, especially to the return of stability during the global economic crisis," Netanyahu said, adding that Stanley - as he was known in Israel - proudly represented Israel and its economy worldwide. Israeli President Isaac Herzog also paid tribute. "He played a huge role in strengthening Israel's economy, its remarkable resilience, and its strong reputation around the world," Herzog said. Hooded men slash care workers' tyres and smash their windows in terrifying CCTV
Masked men hurled rocks at the family home of two care workers and slashed the tyres of their car in a attack that left their children traumatised. The family who have not given their name for fear of reprisals, say they have no idea why they were targeted. They thought there was an intruder in the home in Eastleigh, Hampshire, when they heard glass smashing. After rushing into their son and daughter's room to check on them, they found a broken window and three rocks on their daughter's bed. She runs a palliative care charity and her husband also works in care, and they have no idea what caused this seemingly co-ordinated attack. Video footage shows three hooded figures in dark clothing slashing eight tires on the family's vehicles before taking rocks out of their pockets and aiming them at the windows shortly after 1am on May 11. Erica described seeing her daughter cry as the 'worst bit' of the whole ordeal. She said: 'When I went into my daughter's room, she was crying. If they had hit her head… she's six years old. My daughter is traumatised. 'We have lived here for years, we work full time, and we get on well with our neighbours. The only thing I can think of is that they have the wrong ideas. 'We now don't feel secure in our own home. If one of us had been sitting downstairs, we would have been significantly hurt.
