We wrap up the week in Capri, where Nick (Jack Wagner) is thinking back to when Nick first met Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). He thinks about the compass he gave her in case she loses her way. 'You can't go through life alone,' he tells her, adding that she knows where to find him.
Brooke is in her hotel room thinking back to telling Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) that she's in a beautiful place with the man she loves but they're not together. She pours a glass of water and reflects.
Eric (John McCook) tells Ridge that Brooke is hurting. 'The clock is ticking,' Eric says. Nick is there and Ridge needs to stop taking Brooke for granted. Steffy and Thomas don't need Ridge to marry Taylor. But Ridge needs to be with the one he loves most. Eric tells Ridge to think about time 'and how fleeting it is.'
Bridget (Ashley Jones) finds Finn (Tanner Novlan) in his office. She asks if he's found any answers about Liam's miracle cure. Finn is determined to get answers. They don't know anything, and Finn can't even get his hands on medical records. He's thrilled that Liam is going to live, but 'something's not adding up.'
Ridge tells Eric that he knows exactly what he wants. Eric says Ridge is choosing a safe and predictable life with Taylor instead of being with a woman who makes his heart race, who fulfills him. He tells Ridge to stop punishing Brooke for what happened at work. She did it to protect him, to protect all of them. And he needs to get over it and do something about it.
Taylor (Rebecca Budig) gets off the phone as Katie (Heather Tom) walks in looking for Donna. Katie asks how Taylor is holding up while Brooke and Ridge are away.
Ridge goes to Brooke's hotel room and knocks, but she's listening to music. He leaves. Eric, in the meantime, is out taking in the sights and he spots Nick in the distance admiring a ring.
Bridget agrees with Finn. She wants answers, too, but she's grateful for the surgery that saved Liam's life. Finn happens to spot Grace (Cassandra Creech) walking by and she comes into the office, claiming to be very busy. But it's time for answers.
Taylor insists that Nick loves Brooke and Brooke loves him. She even points out that Brooke will never have to question his love the way she does with Ridge. Her future happiness is with Nick.
Eric knocks on Brooke's door and tells him she hasn't seen Ridge. He asks how she's doing and she says she's good. How else could she be anything but wonderful in Italy? Eric saw how unhappy she was in Capri and he admits he's frustrated with Ridge. He knows she's upset and he warns her to not be vulnerable with Nick around. He knows things haven't gone the way she's wanted them to, but there's still time for Ridge to come around. Brooke says she needs to clear her head and Eric offers to join her, but she needs some time alone. And then she's going to meet Nick. She kisses Eric's cheek and leaves him with a ciao.
Finn wants to know why there's no information about the procedure or the doctor who assisted her. Grace says she will share everything with them in due time but she's busy. 'You'll just have to trust me,' she tells Finn. She leaves and Finn and Bridget share incredulous looks.
Katie wonders if Taylor is upset with Eric for trying to get Brooke and Ridge back together, first with the fashion show and then with the Italy trip. Taylor isn't fazed in the least, saying that she's engaged to Ridge and maybe when Brooke comes back she'll be engaged, too.
Brooke sends Nick a text. He gets the message and hurries off to meet her.
Katie knows that Taylor would love it if Brooke and Nick were engaged. Taylor wonders if Katie doubts Nick's power of persuasion, adding that nothing is going to come between her and Ridge. She thinks Nick will see that, too.
Brooke is waiting for Nick, but she's thinking about Ridge and their ride across the water in the boat. She's thinking about all of their times in Italy together, including the cannon firing to give them a sign. And then there was Ridge looking through the keyhole to find her and their sweet moment that followed.
She dabs a tear from her eye as she waits for Nick, but it's Ridge who walks up and touches her arm.

Stephen Colbert Wastes No Time Landing A New Gig Despite All The Late Show Drama, And I Think It's Almost Too Perfect A Fit
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. What a wild 2025 it's been for Stephen Colbert thus far. Mere days after The Late Show earned its latest batch of Emmy nominations, including its ninth straight in the talk show's core category, CBS shocked viewers around the country by announcing the late night staple's cancellation, in connection with parent company Paramount Global merging with Skydance Media. That situation remains a source of contention, but it looks like Colbert has already landed his latest gig away from the world of late night TV…sort of. Though The Late Show with Stephen Colbert technically isn't set to begin its swan song until the 11th season officially starts, many fans are wondering whether or not the former Colbert Report host will indeed remain in his current role for an entire year after the controversial cancellation decision. (Especially after Skydance boss David Ellison's alleged thoughts on the Late Show's content spread around.) Perhaps this latest return to the acting world may be indicative of where his head is at, but even if it isn't, I still can't wait to see it. What's Stephen Colbert's Newest TV Gig? No stranger to fully scripted and serialized TV, Stephen Colbert won't be going too far outside the box for his newest role. He landed a guest spot on CBS' acclaimed dramedy Elsbeth, a show that's delivered a slew of winning guest stars throughout its first two seasons, so there's no reason to expect this one to be a dud. Though the exact timing of events behind-the-scenes is unclear, it's very likely that conversations to bring Colbert into Elsbeth's universe took place (or at least started up) before the Late Show's fate was cemented. According to Vulture, the episode in question will likely land on the 2025 TV schedule as the Season 3 premiere for Carrie Preston's titular attorney. Elsbeth's upcoming season will arrive on a special night amidst CBS's Fall TV lineup, as the network will be utilizing post-NFL ratings with a Sunday-evening debut on October 12. It's entirely possible the network will make scheduling changes before it arrives, however, so stay tuned on that front. Who Will Stephen Colbert Be Playing On Elsbeth? It doesn't sound like Stephen Colbert will be jettisoned outside of his comfort zone when he shows up on Elsbeth, as he's set to play — get this — a late night talk show host! I almost wish I could say his name is Stevie Coltiger, but that's not the case. He'll be fronting the faux show-within-a-show Way Late with Scotty Bristol, which now feels like an even weirder move for Colbert in the aftermath of his Late Show debacle. Unfortunately, no further details about his appearance have been revealed, so we don't know yet whether Scotty Bristol will be meeting his maker during the ep, or if he'll have some other kind of involvement with the murder-of-the-week. I'm hoping for the latter, so that the door can stay open for him to potentially return. If the Elsbeth role was already set up ahead of the Late Show cancellation, the episode likely won't depict any real-world events. However, it's reported that filming is currently taking place this week, so it's technically possible showrunner Jonathan Tolins or co-creators Robert and Michelle King could have rewritten the material to reflect current events in an unexpected way. Of course, considering Elsbeth wasn't noted as a sticking point in the Skydance/Paramount merger, it's possible that the legal dramedy's creative team has been advised to refrain from referencing what's happening behind the scenes. Regardless of whether it aims for full-on satire or just a super-quick winking nod to the Late Show's fate, I cannot wait for Elsbeth to return to CBS with its Colbert guest spot. Stay tuned for further details while keeping in mind that Season 3 will be kicking off on Sunday, October 12, ahead of its normal Thursday-night airings, with new episodes also available to stream with a Paramount+ subscription. The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Isn't Running New Episodes This Week Amidst CBS Brouhaha And Ratings Surge
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. To say that Stephen Colbert is having an interesting year is to say that outer space sure is dark. The late night staple was thrown for a loop when CBS axed The Late Show ahead of its impending 11th season, as tied to parent company Paramount's now-finalized merger with Skydance. Recent weeks' episodes have seen the host taking shots at the Powers that Be, while also talking about what gig he might take on next, but fans won't be seeing any of that during upcoming episodes. That's because The Late Show is taking a week off amidst all of the behind-the-scenes turmoil. Although it should be pointed out that this mini-hiatus was already planned and in the books, and isn't a direct response to everything that's gone down since the cancellation news. That said, it's not necessarily the worst timing, either, although it comes at a point when The Late Show is enjoying a ratings surge. (More on that lower.) A lot of the conversations surrounding The Late Show's future, at least from the network's perspective, revolve around the show's financial failings, since Stephen Colbert hasn't been nearly as successful as late night rival Jimmy Fallon by way of videos clips going viral featuring celebrities doing silly and ridiculous things. Outside of network rumblings, fans and haters alike have both surmised that the show's heightened focus on partisan politics and an abundance of left-leaning politician guests also factored into the decision. If that is indeed the case, then the choices for this week's (and last Friday's) repeats seem pointed enough. Here's the lineup that CBS announced: Friday, Aug. 8 (Original Air Date: 7/31/25) Vice President Kamala Harris Musical performance by Renée Rapp Monday, Aug. 11 (Original Air Date: 2/18/25) George Clooney Alan Ritchson Tuesday, Aug. 12 (Original Air Date: 4/15/25) David Oyelowo Finn Wolfhard Musical performance by OK Go Special appearance by Alan Cumming Wednesday, Aug. 13 (Original Air Date: 5/15/25) Senator Bernie Sanders Musical performance by Pavement Thursday, Aug. 14 (Original Air Date: 2/17/25) John Oliver Musical performance by The War and Treaty Friday, Aug. 15 (Original Air Date: 7/22/25) Bad Bunny Leanne Morgan At this point, it's unclear what the situation will be for the following week, so stay tuned for those details. The Late Show's Hiatus Comes After Recent Ratings Wins According to LateNighter, the aftermath of the CBS cancellation has been a boon for The Late Show's viewership numbers and its key demo ratings. In the week of episodes that ran from July 28-August 1, during which Colbert hosted four new episodes, the CBS talk show's average nightly audience was higher than the combined audiences of both Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. TALK SHOW AVERAGE LIVE+3 VIEWERSHIP AVERAGE LIVE+3 DEMO VIEWERSHIP (18-49) The Late Show with Stephen Colbert 3.016 million 304,000 The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon 1.133 million 181,000 Jimmy Kimmel Live! 798,000 120,000 To be sure, all of Jimmy Kimmel's episodes that week were repeats, which may have had an impact on how that show's numbers looked. Regardless, though, it does seem like Stephen Colbert's job issues have given him a slight advantage in the ratings, so it'll be interesting to see if he attempts to capitalize on that in any way going forward. I mean, we'll likely see him promote his upcoming Elsbeth guest spot ahead of it hititng the 2025 TV schedule, but what else? Solve the daily Crossword

Victoria, David Beckham appear to be absent from Brooklyn, Nicola Peltz's vow renewal as rift rumors persist
Nicola Peltz Beckham paid tribute to her mother while renewing her wedding vows with her husband of three years, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham. At the vow renewal ceremony on Aug. 2, the 30-year-old actress, who is married to the 26-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham, wore an updated version of her mother Claudia Heffner Peltz's original wedding gown from her 1985 nuptials with Nicola's father Nelson Peltz. On Monday, Nicola took to Instagram to share photos from the ceremony, which was officiated by Nelson and attended by many other members of the Peltz family, including Claudia, though David and Victoria were absent. According to their Instagram posts, the couple appear to currently be vacationing in France. It's unclear if the couple were on vacation at the time. "this day meant so much to us," Nicola wrote in the caption of one post, which included a carousel of images from the event. "The Last Airbender" star reposted a side-by-side image from a fan's account that featured Claudia wearing the gown at her wedding and Nicola donning the repurposed dress at her vow ceremony. "Nic wearing her mom's wedding dress for her vow renewal," the fan wrote in the caption. Nicola altered Claudia's dress to an off-the-shoulder style with a corseted bodice. The upcycled dress appeared to feature the original's floral appliqué detailing along with the three-quarter-length cinched puff sleeves and full-length skirt with its ruffled hemline. The "Lola" filmmaker donned a custom Valentino Haute Couture gown when she and Brooklyn originally tied the knot during a ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida on April 9, 2022. The pair first began dating in October 2019 and announced their engagement in July 2020. Nicola has previously spoken out about how she has been inspired by her parents' decades-long marriage. During a 2023 interview with Cosmopolitan, she said, "My parents have been together more than 40 years, and they always make fun of each other." 'My dad is just so cute," Nicola added. "When my mom leaves the room, he's always just like, 'She's so beautiful.' They still act like young kids in love. Literally, they're always making out, to the point where my brother's like, 'I'm closing my eyes. Stop making out.' They're so in love, and being able to grow up with that is so beautiful. I would never settle for anything other than that. Brooklyn and I are always on each other's laps. Anytime we walk around, we're holding hands." In addition to Nicola, the 83-year-old billionaire investor and the 70-year-old former model also share seven other children, including Will, Brad, Brittany, Matthew, Diesel, and Zachary, and Gregory. Nelson is also father to two children from his previous marriage to Cynthia Abrams. Later on Monday, Nicola shared photos from the vow renewal ceremony's afterparty in which she was seen wearing another vintage gown. In several snaps, Nicola was pictured in a blue butterfly dress from the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 1998 collection. During an Aug. 6 interview with People magazine, Brooklyn gushed about renewing his vows with Nicola. "It was beautiful," Brooklyn said of the ceremony. "We just wanted a really beautiful experience — a really cute memory." "To be honest, I could renew my vows every single day with her," he continued. "I think the most important thing that someone can do is find that person that they're going to spend the rest of their life with. It definitely shapes you as a person. Yeah, it was really, really cute. It was really fun." Brooklyn also told the outlet that he planned to "find space" on his body to tattoo his renewal vows after he was previously inked with his original wedding vows. "These ones were actually longer than my original ones," he said. While many members of Nicola's family were pictured joining the couple at their vow renewal celebrations, Brooklyn's relatives appeared not to have been present. In addition to David and Victoria, Brooklyn's siblings Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, were also not seen taking part in the festivities. A representative for David and Victoria did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. David and Victoria's absence comes amid rumors of a rift between the couple and their son and daughter-in-law. The soccer legend and the Spice Girls member were said to be "disappointed" in Brooklyn and Nicola's decision not to attend any of David's 50th birthday celebrations in May. "There are tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and the family," a source told People. "The relationship is definitely not beyond repair. They love and are always there for him. They're just hurt and disappointed that he's now playing no part in family life." In August 2022, Nicola quashed rumors of a family feud after social media users noted her decision to wear a Valentino gown at her wedding rather than a dress created by her fashion designer mother-in-law. While speaking with Variety, Nicola addressed the speculation and explained why she chose a Valentino gown instead of a Victoria Beckham dress. "I was going to [wear Victoria Beckham] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress," Nicola recalled during a joint interview with Brooklyn. "She didn't say, 'You can't wear it;' I didn't say I didn't want to wear it. That's where it started, and then they ran with that," she added of the media coverage that the rumors received. "I've learned they're always going to try to write stuff like that. They're always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good," Brooklyn said at the time.
