Nick Offerman Was So Upset About This "Huge Mistake" Trump Made That He Stopped By "The Daily Show" To Give An Emotional Speech

'Let me get this straight, Mr. President. You cut $267 million to get back $90 million. Now, I'm no mathematician but I believe that's called shitting the bed,' said Offerman in an appearance on Tuesday's episode of The Daily Show.
'But then again, I didn't go to Wharton Business College.'
The Parks & Recreation star — who portrayed libertarian official Ron Swanson — turned to several news reports detailing how America's 'pastoral gifts' are 'under attack' as staffing levels have seen a notable dip across the National Park System since January, per the National Parks Conservation Association.
One clip noted that park scientists, in some cases, have been forced to help clean toilets due to staffing shortages.

Offerman — who quipped that the situation is like "Good Will Hunting but in reverse" — stressed that the cuts are a 'huge mistake.'
'No scientist has the strength to clean the skid marks of a man who's been eating beans and campfire hot dogs for the past three days! They're weak,' he joked.

He went on to refer to Trump 'shaking down foreigners' after he issued an executive order earlier this month that calls for foreign tourists to face higher park entry fees, a move that the administration expects to generate more than $90 million annually.
After highlighting how national parks contributed a record $55.6 billion to the U.S. economy and supported over 415,000 jobs just two years ago, Offerman explained why the parks are a 'true miracle.'
'It is an affordable vacation that everyone can take inside our own borders, whether you're traveling with your family or abandoning your constituents during a crisis,' quipped the actor as a photo of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) amid his Cancun controversy appeared on screen.
Offerman, who recently revealed why Ron Swanson would've 'despised' Trump, then mocked the president for speaking so 'fondly' of national parks in years past.

He turned to a 2020 clip of Trump who, when referencing sequoia trees at Yosemite National Park, appeared to pronounce the park's name as 'yo-semites.'
'It's Yosemite,' Offerman remarked. ''Yo, Semites,' is what a bad undercover cop might say to a group of Hasidic Jews.'

While Murphy, who has long taken heat for his TV depictions of real-life figures and events, said he was astonished by Schlossberg's early review, he tries to find room for all commentary whether good or bad. 'I try to have some humility about it,' Murphy said. 'The days of civil discourse are over. It's very hard, and you either get into the muck or you try and rise above it. I found that hard to do, but I did it. And I just have a better attitude about it, I think, than I did before I started. I'm thankful for the criticism, because if you're smart, you listen to critical voices and you say, 'Okay, great.' And we fixed it. We rolled up our sleeves and we listened to people and corrected it.' Budget office says Trump's tax law will add $3.4 trillion to deficits, leave 10 million uninsured
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump's tax and spending law will add $3.4 trillion to federal deficits through 2034, the Congressional Budget Office reported Monday, a slight increase in the projection that takes into account the final tweaks that Republicans made before getting the legislation over the finish line. More than 10 million people will be uninsured under the law in 2034 because of the law, CBO found, an improvement from an earlier projection that found 11.8 million people losing coverage over the decade. The release of the CBO analysis Monday comes at the end of a grueling legislative fight, but at the start of a longer political struggle to come as the two parties clash over the law's impact on the economy, healthcare and government programs. Republicans are touting the bill as a tax cut for all Americans, yet a recent AP-NORC poll found about two-thirds of U.S. adults expect the new tax law will help the rich as Democrats attack the legislation. The bill Trump signed into law on July 4 extended current tax rates for individuals that were set to expire at the end of this year and temporarily created new tax deductions for tips, overtime and auto interest loans for new vehicles assembled in the U.S. Republicans also used the bill to cut future spending on Medicaid and food assistance, and to phase out certain clean energy tax credits more quickly. Democrats were quick to highlight the CBO's findings. 'Today's report reminds us of something: facts are stubborn and the facts are clear,' said Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer. 'The big, ugly betrayal is a loser for the country and will be a loser for the Republicans." Republicans say the bill was critical to ensure most Americans didn't experience a significant tax increase next year. Trump and Republicans have also insisted that economic growth will exceed the CBO's projections for the next decade, erasing the projected deficits as more revenue comes into the Treasury than anticipated. Nonpartisan fiscal watchdogs also highlighted the CBO's latest projection. Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, said there will be a shorter-term 'sugar high' as stimulus makes its way through the economy. But modelers from across the ideological spectrum agree that any sustained economic changes are likely to be modestly beneficial, or negative. 'And not one serious estimate claims this bill will improve our fiscal situation,' MacGuineas said. 'Rather, positive growth effects are likely to be swamped by the effects of higher debt and interest rates.' The CBO said more than $1 trillion in deficit savings is generated through the health portions of the bill, which includes new work requirements for certain Medicaid beneficiaries in states that expanded the program through the Affordable Care Act. Some late changes on Medicaid were made to the bill to win over holdouts.
