War 2 Hrithik Roshan Admits Kiara Advani Challenged Him In Aavan Jaavan, Says 'Had To Move Like Her'
Hrithik Roshan says he struggled to match Kiara Advani's moves in War 2 song Aavan Jaavan, calling her dance style sharp, fast, and inspiring.
As anticipation builds for War 2, Hrithik Roshan is reflecting on the past — the roles he regrets turning down, the dance steps that slipped away off-camera, and the exciting, nerve-racking road ahead as he steps into the director's chair with Krrish 4.
At a recent event in Sri Lanka, the Bollywood superstar offered rare insights into his journey, candidly admitting, 'I said no to Dil Chahta Hai, and I said no to 3 Idiots. But I think Aamir [Khan] was the right choice for both those films. It had a destiny."
While both roles eventually went to Aamir Khan and went on to become generational hits, Hrithik shared no bitterness — only introspection and admiration.
He also opened up about a surprising quirk — forgetting his lines and choreography once the cameras stop rolling. 'One is my dialogues. If I'm not in front of the camera in my real life, my dialogues I will never remember. And the second one is, unfortunately, my dance steps. I can never remember both once I step away from the cameras. It's unbelievable."
Speaking of dancing, Hrithik recounted the rehearsal process for War 2's upcoming track Aavan Jaavan with co-star Kiara Advani. What was meant to be a simple sequence turned unexpectedly challenging. 'It was a really easy step. But for some reason, when Kiara and I were rehearsing, we were struggling to match our hands and our legs. I had to move like her, she had to move like me. So even though it was simple, it became complicated in trying to match each other."
In contrast, he recalled the seemingly complex but ultimately fluid choreography of Main Aisa Kyun Hoon from Lakshya — a number choreographed by the legendary Prabhudeva. 'Like Main Aisa Kyu Hoon looked really difficult, but Mr. Prabhudheva made it so easy for me because he had somebody with me for a month, and I slowly moved into those steps every day, a little bit, a little bit, and then magic, that masterpiece, was born."
Perhaps the biggest revelation of the evening was Hrithik's confirmation that he's stepping behind the camera for Krrish 4. 'I need all your love and blessings. I am very excited, but also very nervous. Encouragement will go a long way. I'm scared, but I'm also very, very excited about this new chapter in my life."
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 features Jr NTR in a villainous avatar and is slated for release on August 14, 2025.

Coolie vs War 2 North America advance booking: Rajinikanth's film races ahead with $1.06M, Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR follows at $168K
This Independence Day will see the clash of two mega tentpoles from India — Lokesh Kanagaraj's action thriller Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, and Ayan Mukerji's spy thriller War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. While the advance booking in India hasn't started yet, if the US advance ticket sales are anything to go by yet, Coolie is leading the race with a rather wide margin. The advance booking of Coolie in North America currently stands at $1.06 million. It's become the fastest Tamil film to cross the $1 million mark in its pre-sales in North America. This includes $850K from just the cinemas in the US alone, where it's sold over 35,000 tickets already. It's releasing with 1147 shows at 430 locations across the US, as per Sacnilk. With this milestone, Coolie has entered the short list of Tamil blockbusters which hit the $1 million mark through just its advance booking in North America. The other members of this coveted club include another Rajinikanth action drama, Pa Ranjith's Kabali (2016), which stands at $1.92 million, followed by another Kanagaraj action thriller, Leo (2023) starring Vijay, which garnered $1.86 million in its North America pre-sales. The third spot, which Coolie now follows, is held by Mani Ratnam's 2022 historical epic Ponniyin Selvan I at $1.1 million. Meanwhile, War 2 lags far behind in comparison. It's collected $168K through 1585 shows at 582 locations across North America. Out of this, $150.9K has been collected from the US cinemas alone. Given the current trajectory, War 2 may not be able to even hit the $1 million mark in North America pre-sales, which Coolie has surpassed already, even 10 days before its worldwide release. However, War 2 has managed to outperform NTR's previous action tentpole, Koratala Siva's Devara last year. While Devara hit the $100K pre-sales mark in 11 hours, War 2 has managed to do that in only seven hours, becoming the fastest Indian film to do so in North America. War 2 is the sequel to Siddharth Anand's 2019 blockbuster War, starring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Vaani Kapoor, and Ashutosh Rana. While Roshan and Rana reprise their roles in the sequel, they're being joined by NTR and Kiara Advani among others. War 2 will mark Mukerji's first directorial venture outside of his home turf, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. War 2 is the next instalment in Aditya Chopra's ambitious YRF Spy Universe, which consists of blockbusters like the Tiger franchise, Pathaan, and War. Its next instalment is Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, which will release in cinemas this Christmas on December 25. Yash Raj Films is already reaping the benefits of its latest global box office success, Mohit Suri's romantic drama Saiyaara. Coolie also stars Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Pooja Hegde, and Sathyaraj, along with a cameo by Aamir Khan. Both Coolie and War 2 will release in cinemas worldwide on August 14.

Song Young-Kyu Found Dead In Vehicle Days After Driving Under Influence Controversy
Veteran South Korean actor Song Young-Kyu, 55, was found dead a week after a DUI scandal. Yongin Eastern Police Station in Gyeonggi-do is investigating the case. Veteran South Korean actor Song Young-Kyu has been found dead just days after he was embroiled in a driving under the influence (DUI) controversy that had begun affecting his career. He was 55 years old. According to media reports, Song was discovered unconscious inside a parked vehicle at a townhouse complex in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, around 8:00 AM on Sunday. The Yongin Eastern Police Station has launched an investigation into the circumstances of his death. Authorities were reportedly alerted by an acquaintance who found him in the vehicle. A source quoted by Koreaboo said, 'He was distressed by the malicious articles and comments, and the circumstances were extremely unfavorable at that time." Just over a week before his death, Song had been booked without detention for driving under the influence. The incident occurred on June 19 in Yongin, after Song had reportedly consumed alcohol with acquaintances and attempted to drive home. His blood alcohol content was said to be over 0.08 per cent, leading to the revocation of his driver's license. The incident came to light after a local resident reported it to the police. Song chose not to issue a public statement about the matter. The backlash was swift. Song was removed from the stage play Shakespeare In Love following the incident. In South Korea, where public figures are held to high standards, such infractions often have serious professional consequences. At the time of the scandal, Song was appearing as Pastor Yoon Se Hoon in ENA's Monday–Tuesday drama Eye Shopping, and had also filmed for The Defects. In response to the controversy, the production team behind The Defects stated that they would minimise his screen time in the final edit. 'Since it is a pre-produced drama, filming has been completed, and it seems that editing will be kept to a minimum so as not to affect the flow of the plot or the viewer's perception of the plot," they told OSEN on July 25. Song began his acting career in 1994 with the children's musical Wizard Mureul. Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of death.
