Whenever I'm feeling down, I know there's one part of the internet that'll easily perk me right up: talking birds. There's no telling what these funny little comedians will do or say, and they really don't care how we feel about it! Gizmo, an African Grey Parrot, is a part of this club of vocal birds, and she's pretty good at tossing in things you didn't know she picked up. In a recent clip, she politely asks Mom for a bite of food... by coughing. It's brilliant! Almost as if she meant to say, "Ahem, excuse me, ma'am... could you please spare this famished, twig-like frame just a morsel of your sustenance?" A cough to remind someone you're there will do the trick every time! African Grey Parrots are masters at off-the-charts mimicry, and Gizmo's clearly been practicing. She's like a little human lady trapped in a Parrot's body, but still capable of expressing some things, like "Give me food!"Coughs aren't the only thing Gizmo's good at, by far. This cutie has a whole arsenal of funny phrases, words, and sounds to amuse the masses, and Mom. She's also a rad dancer with moves like Jagger and an expert at making Mom stop and pay attention, but it's videos like this one that crack me up because it shows her ability to understand what a joke is. That's diabolical, if you ask me! The evil laugh is too much! You can tell she gets a kick out of surprising everyone with whatever flies out of her little mouth next. She reminds me of my kids when they were toddlers, taunting me at bedtime... African Grey Parrots Can Have Large Vocabularies African Greys like Gizmo are really good at learning new words if they want to. Up to 1,000 words or more is possible, and some add a little extra after picking up an accent! More than that, these birds have the know-how to use them "coherently and in context," making your everyday conversations with one feel like you're talking to another person at times! All of this to say, I already knew talking Parrots were smart, funny, and impressive (some even have the mouth of a trucker), but Gizmo's use of a cough for attention? Newlyweds Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez want R3,3m in damages from her brother
Fresh from their lavish R900-million Italian wedding, billionaire newlyweds Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have turned their attention to a far less romantic matter: collecting legal fees from family. The Amazon founder and his wife are demanding R3,3 million in legal costs from Lauren's estranged brother, Michael Sanchez, following years of bitter court battles which have torn the family apart. While R3,3 million might be pocket change for the world's third-richest man, the couple's lawyers aren't letting it slide. They recently filed a motion demanding that Michael pay R3,2 million in attorney's fees as well as R143 594 in legal costs. The motion, which was filed in July, says that these costs came about because of a successful Special Motion to Strike and a later motion for attorney's fees. The filings refer to California's Anti-SLAPP law, which protects people from lawsuits that try to scare or silence them about things that are important to the public. Their budding romance took a dramatic turn when American tabloid, The National Enquirer, threatened to publish intimate photos and explicit text messages between the couple. 'I had nothing to do with the leak of the pics,' Michael said previously. 'There are, like, 20 d*ck pics. Lauren likely shared them with multiple girlfriends – not in a malicious way, that's not her style, but when she's in love, she got a kick out of sharing them.' However, Michael claims he worked with the tabloid to help his sister, not harm her. Lauren's version of events paints a different picture. 'Michael secretly provided my most personal information to the National Enquirer – a deep and unforgivable betrayal. My family is hurting over this new baseless and untrue lawsuit, and we truly hope my brother finds peace,' she said in a lawyer's letter. Despite the ongoing family chaos, the newlyweds seem unfazed by the legal drama. They've been spotted partying across Europe, from exclusive Ibiza nightclubs to double dates with Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, aboard Jeff's R8,7-billion superyacht.
