Could an American in Paris Breathe New Life Into LVMH's Celine?

Could an American in Paris Breathe New Life Into LVMH's Celine?

'There was no master plan,' said Celine's new creative director, Michael Rider, backstage at his Paris debut for the LVMH luxury brand. 'It was very intuitive.'
That instinctive approach resulted in a men's and women's spring 2026 collection that felt like an art-school student rummaging around in the Celine archive and putting it together for a night out. Rider, 44, previously worked for Phoebe Philo at Celine from 2008 to 2017, and so her era was well-represented with military-inspired jackets and coats, preppy sweaters and Philo-classic handbags, remixed. There were also sequined black dresses and shrunken tuxedo jackets from the playbook of Rider's predecessor, the Lord of Indie Sleaze Hedi Slimane, and beige tailoring recalling 1990s Michael Kors.

‘Happy Gilmore 2' Cast: Here's Every Star, Celebrity And Athlete Cameo

HAPPY GILMORE 2. Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore in Happy Gilmore2. Cr. Courtesy of Netflix © 2025. Happy Gilmore 2 arrives on Netflix tomorrow, July 25. The sequel features both returning and new stars from the beloved 1996 golf comedy, along with more than two dozen celebrity cameos, including professional golfers, hip-hop legends, NFL players, WWE stars and more. Nearly three decades later, Adam Sandler reprises his role as Happy Gilmore, the short-tempered hockey player-turned-golfer. In the original film, Gilmore enters a series of tournaments to save his grandmother's house from foreclosure. The movie ends with Gilmore winning the Tour Championship and reclaiming his grandmother's home. In the Netflix sequel, co-written by Sandler, Happy has left golf behind following a tragic accident. But when he needs $300,000 to send his daughter Vienna (Sunny Sandler) to a ballet school in Paris, he returns to the sport in hopes of raising the money. HAPPY GILMORE 2. Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit in Happy Gilmore 2. Cr. Courtesy of Netflix © 2025. "Happy Gilmore isn't done with golf — not by a long shot," the film's synopsis reads. 'Adam Sandler's short-fused legend swings for a comeback to make his kid's dream come true.' Sandler told Good Morning America that his character's 'life isn't perfect right now' — at least 'at the beginning of the movie.' He continued, 'And he's a family man, and he's gettin' back into the golf game." In addition to Sandler, the 2025 film also sees the return of several familiar faces, including Julie Bowen as Happy's love interest, Virginia Venit; Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, Happy's arrogant nemesis; and Ben Stiller as Hal L., the orderly from Happy's grandmother's nursing home. Unfortunately, Carl Weathers was set to reprise his role as Derick 'Chubbs' Peterson before he passed away in February 2024. Of course, no Sandler movie is complete without his family. The actor's real-life daughter, Sunny Sandler, plays Gilmore's daughter, Vienna. His wife, Jackie Sandler, and elder daughter, Sadie, also appear in the sports comedy. Charli XCX's Post-Wedding Style Is Less Bridal, More Glastonbury

Following her City Hall wedding last weekend, Charli XCX is already back to work. While the singer has a bigger bash scheduled, don't expect her to exhaust bridal whites. Just days after her wedding, Charli traded her Vivienne Westwood minidress for an outfit that could have just as well belonged at Glastonbury. And, in many ways, she took some cues from last month's headlining performance look. For her Day Four set, Charli hit the stage in three multicolored Alexander McQueen skull scarves, rejiggered to make a crop top, which she paired with black leather microshorts, a pair of maroon knee-high boots, and wraparound shades. Joseph Okpako Click News and Media / BACKGRIDUSA Earlier this week, Charli followed a similar outfit formula. She eschewed the scarf top for a black one-shoulder top and draped herself in an ecru pashmina, but stayed loyal to the microshorts in a gray-brown pair with similarly miniature pockets. She also hung onto her knee-high boots, donning a pair of black motos, and wore her large black shades. A noted fan of Anthony Vaccarello, she carried a quilted black Saint Laurent bag. While her style may be leaning more Glasto, Charli XCX still has time to make bridal style bratty before her trip down the aisle.

Are We Seriously Wearing Bloomers Again? The Return of the Revolutionary, Risqué Pants

We have hit peak trouser. In the past year, designers have given us pants with waists high and low, with voluminous pleats and second-skin fits, designs that barrel and flare and taper and crop. They've offered fringe and sequins, leather and crushed satin and see-through netting. Like current events, trousers are everything, everywhere, all at once. This summer, after percolating for months on TikTok, bloomers, aka harem pants, aka genie pants, have joined the mix.
