Drexel guard joins Indiana basketball: What Jason Drake brings to Hoosiers

Jason Drake joins a backcourt that has been well stocked by new Indiana basketball coach Darian DeVries. He's the fifth guard (sixth if you include Tucker DeVries, who will also have a lot of near-the-basket responsibilities) to commit to the revamped Hoosiers.
The 6-foot-1 player established himself in Division I at Drexel in 2024-25. He played in the JUCO ranks after playing little at Cleveland State as a freshman. He also received interest from St. John's and Pitt.
Drake has plenty of company in the IU backcourt. Newcomers in the transfer portal include point guards Conor Enright and Tayton Conerway, and off guards Lamar Wilkerson and Jasai Miles.

Candace Parker Doesn't Entertain Caitlin Clark

Candace Parker Doesn't Entertain Caitlin Clark – Angel Reese Rivalry originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever faced Angel Reese's Chicago Sky on Saturday night in their second matchup of the season. In the first meeting, the Fever dominated 93-58, and tensions flared after a flagrant foul on Caitlin Clark sent Reese to the ground. Advertisement Heading into that first contest, there was already tension between fans, fueled by the fact that the two had faced off on the biggest stage in college basketball and four times during their rookie seasons, when they were No. 1 and No. 2 in the WNBA Rookie of the Year race. Unfortunately for fans, they didn't get to see Clark and Reese go head-to-head Saturday night, as Clark remained out with a left quadriceps strain. Fans and the media kept it going, but WNBA legend Candace Parker questioned why it's even a conversation, noting that they play completely different positions. Advertisement "I just think that it's like comparing apples and oranges, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, it's like, what are we doing?" Parker said on the "Spolitics with Jemele Hill" podcast. "They like doing the Magic [Johnson] and the Larry [Bird] comparison. Well, they played similar positions, like Bird wasn't a point guard, but he played the guard position, like they at least kind of match up. Like, what are we doing? So, I'm not falling into that. I'm not into the comparison." Clark handles most of the workload as a point guard and is known for her deep threes and passing ability. Reese, on the other hand, is a forward known for her rebounding. The next time fans can catch Clark versus Reese, assuming both are healthy, is July 27. The Fever will return to the United Center in Chicago, with tipoff scheduled that day for 3 p.m. EST on ABC. As a result of that play and the growing rivalry between the two players, fans circled this rematch on the calendar. However, Clark is dealing with a left quadriceps strain that kept her out for the fourth straight game. Still, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year made her usual grand entrance, showing up in a flashy outfit. Clark went on to watch the game from the bench, cheering on her teammates after every made basket. The Fever dominated the Sky once again, this time winning 79-52 thanks to Kelsey Mitchell's team-leading 17 points. Indiana, now 4-4 on the 2025 season, won't be without Clark for much longer. On Thursday, the 6-foot guard revealed she'll be re-evaluated after this weekend. 'I'm not going to rush coming back,' Clark said. 'It's just not worth it. But after this weekend, I'll be re-evaluated and we'll have a better idea.' Notre Dame basketball land top-60 point guard Jonathan Sanderson, son of Irish staffer

Notre Dame basketball land top-60 point guard Jonathan Sanderson, son of Irish staffer Notre Dame basketball sure has a family feel to it, and on Sunday that continued with the commitment of 2026 point guard Jonathan Sanderson. The 6-foot, 2-inch and 170-pounder is the son of new director of men's basketball strength and conditioning, Jon, is ranked as the No. 52 overall player in his class according to the 247Sports Composite. The younger Sanderson chose Notre Dame over offers from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State and others. While it may have seemed like it was guaranteed that the father-son duo would reunite in South Bend, it wasn't the case. Sanderson clearly had other impressive offers and could have chosen any of those schools as well. It is the first commitment for head coach Micah Shrewsberry in the 2026 cycle, as the Irish had a very talented 2025 class signed headlined by Jalen Haralson, the highest ranked recruit ever to commit to Notre Dame. Hopefully another impressive class is building, and Sanderson is a step in the right direction.
