Kim Kardashian to pass down iconic engagement ring to Daughter North
ALBAWABA - Reality TV personality Kim Kardashian has disclosed that she plans to give their 11-year-old eldest daughter, North West, her first engagement ring from Kanye West.
The statement was made during an episode of "The Kardashians" in which Kim recalled her favorite jewelry items from her time attending her sister Khloé Kardashian's wedding in India.
Kim stated that she intends to give North the original engagement ring that Kanye gave her when the time is appropriate, and she still has it.
"North was present when I received my ring, which makes it quite meaningful to me, and I want her to have it. Kim added, "I even have a photo of her holding it when she was a baby."
During Kim's pregnancy with North, Kanye proposed to her with a 15-carat cushion-cut diamond ring. Even more valuable was the 20-carat emerald-cut diamond ring he later gave her in 2016.
But in 2016, at Paris Fashion Week, Kim was seized at gunpoint in the notorious Paris robbery, and the second ring was taken. Jewelry valued at more than $10 million was lost in the heist.
In retrospect, Kim revealed that she had purposefully left her first engagement ring at home, preventing it from being stolen.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were married in 2014, but in February 2021, Kim filed for divorce, ending their marriage. In November 2022, their divorce was formalized.
Kim's choice to give North the ring gives their family's history a sentimental touch and guarantees that a memorable item from her past will always be a part of it.

Kim Kardashian returns to court over Infamous 2016 case
ALBAWABA - Kim Kardashian will testify in a 2016 Paris burglary case in which she was held up at gunpoint and had millions of dollars' worth of jewelry stolen. In the afternoon, the 44-year-old reality TV actress and businesswoman will testify about the burglary, which left her tied up and held at gunpoint in a luxurious room during Paris Fashion Week. Jewels worth millions of dollars were taken from her, including a $4m (£2.9m) diamond engagement ring from then-husband Kanye West. Ten people are on trial, which began last month. Plaintiff Abderrahmane Ouatiki, (L) (Photo by GEOFFROY VAN DER HASSELT / AFP) Witness Abderrahmane Ouatiki, the night receptionist who claims he was led to Kardashian's hotel suite and forced to interpret the demands of the burglars, claimed on Monday that the American celebrity was "in a state of complete terror" and "completely hysterical" as a "very nervous" man brandished a gun at her. "He was very aggressive, and she was utterly terrified," Ouatiki added. He continued by saying that he had been worried about his life because the burglar was acting strangely and was obviously annoyed by Kardashian's yelling. According to reports, two more men coerced Ouatiki into taking them to Kardashian's suite, where they demanded that she give him the ring and stole additional diamonds worth a total of $9 million, while three people stood guard at the reception of the upscale Hotel de Pourtalès in central Paris. US media personality Kim Kardashian (Photo by Michael Tran / AFP) Three months later, authorities took into custody the men and several other individuals suspected of being accomplices to the crime. Although one passed away in March and another was excused for health reasons, twelve were ultimately scheduled to appear in court. All but two of the other ten deny any role in the break-in. The police believe they broke up and sold the gems, but they never located them. The French media has referred to the accused as "grandpa robbers" due to several of them being in their seventies. Many also suffer from severe health issues. One exhibited obvious tremors, and the other is receiving chemotherapy. During last week's interrogation, the alleged ringleader, Aomar Ait Khedache, 68, who is deaf and dumb, was required to write down his responses using a pen and paper that were displayed on a screen. Prosecutors have attempted to dispel the myth of careless elderly robbers who were unaware that their victim was a well-known celebrity ever since the trial began on April 28. "They may have made mistakes, but they were still a decent team," the Brigade de Répression du Banditisme (Banditry Repression Brigade) special unit's senior investigator stated last week. He pointed out that the robbers utilized burner phones, parked a car close to the crime site, taped Kardashian's mouth, and bound her ankles and feet with cable ties. He remarked, "That was well done." "They pulled it off because they managed to flog the goods and palm off a $4 million ring in Antwerp, which isn't that easy," he stated. Ouatiki reportedly described a terrifying image of one of the robbers in his testimony, claiming that he was brandishing a gun and was "stressed and shouting. You believe that person has the potential to be really dangerous. Serving as a mediator between the man and Kim Kardashian, Ouatiki claimed to have done all in his power to "calm things down, as I didn't know what he was capable of." Kardashian was just wearing a bathrobe when the robbers bound her and carried her to the restroom, and the belt came loose, the court heard. Léonore Hennerick, Kardashian's attorney, asked Ouatiki to explain the incident, but she refused to elaborate. "You have to respect the victim, I think," he stated. In a tearful interview with American journalist David Letterman in 2020, Kardashian recalled that incident and said she believed she was about to be sexually abused. "I was like, 'Okay, this is the time I'm going to get raped,'" she recalled. "I'm going to be dead in the room, and she's going to be traumatized for the rest of her life," she continued, adding that she was afraid for her life and worried about her sister Kourtney, who was out at a party. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - FEBRUARY 16: Kim Kardashian (/AFP) Rather, the robbers took her ring, along with many other gems, her phone, and €1,000 in cash, and fled. Kardashian's security showed up there immediately after she managed to free herself. She quickly traveled back to the United States after making a statement to authorities in the early hours of October 3. Ouatiki, an Algerian national pursuing a PhD in semiotics at the time, claimed that media rumors suggesting he might have been involved in the crime caused him significant suffering. "The suspicion was very heavy to bear," he made clear to the court. Ouatiki informed French media that soon after the crime, he was forced to return to Algeria and was diagnosed with PTSD after losing his student status. He said, "It was a catastrophe; my life fell apart," to Le Point. Simone Bretter, Kardashian's stylist and pal, will testify on Tuesday morning. Although she was on a different floor and hid when she realized the burglars had broken in, she was staying in the same suite during the heist. Kim Kardashian's testimony is expected to garner significant media interest, and over 500 journalists have been accredited. "Testifying will allow her to reclaim agency in this situation and rewrite the ending," stated Jeetendr Sehdev, author of The Kim Kardashian Principle and a celebrity expert. "In 2016, she was ridiculed," but testifying in 2025 will transform her into a storyteller.

Hakan Sabancı silences breakup rumors with intimate train photos of Hande Erçel
ALBAWABA - Hakan Sabancı and Hande Erçel shut down breakup rumors with romantic photos from their European trip. Following the dissemination of speculations regarding their breakup, Hakan Sabancı decided to put an end to the rumors in his own unique manner. He did so by publishing fresh photographs of himself and Hande Erçel when they were traveling by train between Rome and Paris. The romantic photographs served as proof of their ongoing love and attracted a great deal of attention on Instagram when they were posted. Hakan Sabancı Instagram profile Following her participation in Paris Fashion Week, Hande arrived at Istanbul Airport by herself, while Hakan was conspicuously absent from the event. This led to the beginning of rumors that the couple had broken up. Hande made the following observation: "Hakan was not alongside me because the trip was for work." During my professional travels, he does not typically accompany me, but since we are both on holiday, we are together. The newly released photographs have pushed the pair back into the public eye, particularly after they had been absent from the public eye for a period of time. Recently, the couple had returned from a romantic trip to Europe, during which they had been sharing moments from interesting tourist spots such as the Maldives. In spite of everything that has been said, it appears that the pair would rather keep their relationship hidden from public remarks and answers. Instead, they appear to be pleased with photographs that convey a distinct feeling of stability and an underlying message that their love endures... but in their own unique way. Two phrases were all that Hakan needed to say in order to comment on the photographs that he had shared from the train: "Between Rome and France." In addition, he posted a photograph of Handa, which he had taken with his phone while they were dining at a restaurant. Hakan Sabancı Instagram profile Their quiet romance speaks louder than words—love remains strong, unshaken.

Austrian embassy celebrates success of ‘Listen to Me' series
The Austrian Embassy in Amman hosts a reception at the Austrian Residence to celebrate the success of the series Listen to Me, produced by Shezomedia and supported by the Austrian 'South-North' Fund 2024 (Photo by Ahmad Khlifat) AMMAN — The Austrian Embassy in Amman hosted a reception at the Austrian Residence to celebrate the success of the series Listen to Me, produced by Shezomedia and supported by the Austrian 'South-North' Fund 2024. The project, which received funding from the Austrian Foreign Ministry, features five "powerful" episodes that were released online throughout Women's Month in March, beginning on Saturday, March 8, International Women's Day. Listen to Me provides a platform for women's voices, highlighting the realities of gender-based violence, social stigma, and the everyday struggles of women, particularly in Jordan's rural communities, according to an embassy statement. By amplifying voices that are often unheard, the series aims to raise awareness of systemic challenges facing women and promote gender equality through storytelling. Each episode shares real-life experiences of discrimination and violence, told with honesty and resilience. These human stories transcend geographic and cultural boundaries, reinforcing the urgent need for dialogue, understanding, and change. In her opening remarks, Austrian Ambassador Marieke Zimburg praised the production team for their impactful work, saying, 'There is no easy recipe, but a first, courageous, and immensely important step is raising awareness. This may not change things immediately, but it lays the foundation for transformation. Without awareness, we tend to accept things as they are, without questioning, thereby perpetuating injustice.' The South-North Fund supports cultural initiatives that promote cooperation, shared learning, and mutual understanding between Austria and the Global South. Listen to Me stands as a compelling example of how creative media can drive social change and humanise critical issues, the statement said. The embassy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that foster inclusivity, dialogue, and gender equality in Jordan and beyond.
