A PHYSICS teacher has been accused of sexual offences against an underage pupil.
David Vincent, 57, is alleged to have targeted the youngster at a school in Inverness.

It's alleged that he told the girl, who it is claimed was under the age of 18, that he loved her and gave her a Valentine's Day card.
Further charges against Vincent allege that he discussed sex and contraception before ordering her to delete text messages.
The alleged incidents reportedly happened over a 17 month period amid allegations the secondary school teacher touched the girl and kissed her.
It further alleged that he told her that he loved her, took her for dinner and invited her to his home.
It's alleged that the educator gave the schoolgirl a necklace and drove her in his car.
The physics teacher is also accused of stalking the same complainer when she was an adult, reports the Press and Journal.
The charge reportedly alleges: 'You did comment and compliment her on her appearance, tell her that you loved her, drive her in your car, telephone her and exchange text messages of a sexual and intimate nature with her.'
It's understood that the case is due to call again in August.
Elsewhere a shamed English teacher who groomed a pupil and was sexually inappropriate to two other girls in his class has avoided jail.
David Davidson, 49, preyed on his victims at a school in the north of Glasgow between August 2008 and April 2023.
A teenage girl told a court she skipped lessons to be alone with Davidson in his classroom.
She said she fell in love with Davidson and that he had told her that he loved her back.
Davidson told her he would take her to his house and out for dinner once she was old enough to leave school.
Davidson went on to stroke the girl on the face and called her "pretty."

The report states that a Vietnamese national was 'initially given the benefit of the doubt' as a child because workers said he had a 'soft face'. Another officer then raised concerns about his age because of his 'developed shoulders', 'huge hands' and a 'tiny bit of stubble'. In other assessments 'arrogance' was used as a sign that a migrant was an adult. One Iranian national presented with some grey hairs and black stubble on his face and claimed to be 17. Despite being assessed as actually 22 years old, he was 'given the benefit of the doubt' and treated as a child pending further assessment. David Bolt made eight key recommendations to the Home Office on the age assessment process, including reviewing the training given to officers by the end of year. In response, the Government accepted all recommendations and pointed out that they are rolling out Facial Age Estimation technology next year pending a trial. It has been trained on millions of images where an individual's age is known. Dame Angela Eagle, Minister for Border Security and Asylum, said in a written statement: 'Accurately assessing the age of individuals is an incredibly complex and difficult task, and the Home Office has spent a number of years analysing which scientific and technological methods would best assist the current process, including looking at the role that Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology can play. 'In a situation where those involved in the age assessment process are unsure whether an individual is aged over or under 18, or do not accept the age an individual is claiming to be, Facial Age Estimation offers a potentially rapid and simple means to test their judgements against the estimates produced by the technology.' A procurement process is currently underway with the new tech set to be integrated into the current system 'over the course of 2026'.

'Lots of kids were doing the same - some wore their flags over their shoulders, like my daughter, and others opted to wear the around their waists as skirts. 'She set off for school with her flag and she was in good spirits, but almost immediately, after she arrived at school she was put into an isolation room. 'Isobelle was put into one of many meeting rooms the school has with about 30 other kids. 'It's absolutely ridiculous. Mum is instantly mortified as she returns from the school run, looks in the mirror & realises her almighty outfit fail "Yet many other children used culture day to wear flags from the countries where their families originated, such as Jamaica and Spain, and had no problem whatsoever. 'They were allowed to wear their flags with pride.' 'All she had done was question him in a very mature way about what was wrong with the British flag, but all he could reply with was: 'Because it's not allowed.'. 'He gave her no explanation beyond that. "Isobelle is not a disruptive child. She works incredibly hard and she's doing well at school. 'She always tries her best and her behaviour is impeccable. 'She's never late and she never gets into trouble – until this happened, at least.' She was put into the isolation room and was really upset. On the day Isobelle was suspended for five days, other children were sent home for just one day for fighting, according to her mother. Another pupil, who climbed over the school gates after arriving late that day, was suspended for two days, she added. Leanne said: 'Why did Isobelle get suspended for five days just for asking mature, reasonable question?
