Further charges against Vincent allege that he discussed sex and contraception before ordering her to delete text messages. The alleged incidents reportedly happened over a 17 month period amid allegations the secondary school teacher touched the girl and kissed her. It further alleged that he told her that he loved her, took her for dinner and invited her to his home. It's alleged that the educator gave the schoolgirl a necklace and drove her in his car. The physics teacher is also accused of stalking the same complainer when she was an adult, reports the Press and Journal. The charge reportedly alleges: 'You did comment and compliment her on her appearance, tell her that you loved her, drive her in your car, telephone her and exchange text messages of a sexual and intimate nature with her.' A teenage girl told a court she skipped lessons to be alone with Davidson in his classroom. She said she fell in love with Davidson and that he had told her that he loved her back. Davidson told her he would take her to his house and out for dinner once she was old enough to leave school. Davidson went on to stroke the girl on the face and called her "pretty."

Citrus County deputies to begin wearing body cameras, sheriff says

The Brief Deputies with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office will soon start wearing body cameras. Newly elected Sheriff David Vincent talked during his campaign about implementing the program. Cameras will be activated by June 30. INVERNESS, Fla. - The Citrus County Sheriff's Office will adopt a body-worn camera program this summer. What they're saying Newly elected Sheriff David Vincent said it was a promise during his campaign to bring the program to the agency. "I said during my campaign that it's unbelievable that it's going to 2025, and we don't have a single video recording device for our interactions with the public," Vincent said. The agency does not use dash cameras either. All 115 deputies in the patrol division will sport the technology come June 30 or sooner. "As we expand the program in the future years, we'll look at whether our detectives need body cameras, whether our bailiffs, our school resource officers. But the priority was our patrol division since they're having the most interactions every day with our public," Vincent said. READ: Another big winner at Seminole Hard Rock Casino robbed, Tampa police investigating Sheriff Vincent said with the transition into his administration, it's a great time for the agency to adopt the program. "We are reorganizing the agency anyway with it being a new administration, so it was actually great timing to create some positions with existing staff to help us with our public records requests and things like that, that we know we can expect with new body-worn cameras," he explained. The sheriff's office will use Axon cameras, a brand other Bay Area law enforcement agencies already use. "One of the things in particular that I like about Axon now is that we're having a staffing issue. So how do you make your people more efficient if you can't hire more people?" Vincent said. The cameras have a feature called 'Draft One' that uses AI technology to help deputies write up reports faster. "A lot of our deputies' time is consumed by writing reports, so if we can make them more efficient in doing that, and this 'Draft One' will allow them to do that, it gives them more time on the road to do actual police work instead of sitting behind a computer writing reports," Vincent said. Follow FOX 13 on YouTube Sheriff Vincent said there are currently 12 to 13 deputy vacancies. "The County Commission is just getting ready to give us 15 more positions," Vincent said. "I've said in the next couple of years, we need about 35 more positions than we are today." He believes the technology will help attract candidates to Citrus County. What's next Training begins next month. The sheriff's office aims to officially start the program on or before June 30. Citrus County deputies will start wearing body cameras this summer

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Deputies in Citrus County will start using body cameras this summer, according to Sheriff David Vincent. 'When I ran for sheriff, I made a promise to the people of Citrus County: bringing body-worn cameras (BWCs) to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office would be a top priority,' the sheriff said in a Facebook post. 'I heard you loud and clear – our community wanted this technology, and I agreed. I'm proud to share that this promise is becoming a reality.' Vincent said the sheriff's office signed a contract with Axon. All patrol division personnel will wear the cameras. What are wheat pennies, and why are they sometimes worth thousands? The sheriff said Citrus County deputies will wear the cameras during their daily interactions starting June 30. Vincent said agency-wide instruction will begin in April. In May, the sheriff's office will move into a testing phase. 'I firmly believe that body-worn cameras benefit both law enforcement and the community. They capture interactions in real-time, providing an objective record of events. This helps protect our deputies from false accusations while also maintaining accountability in every situation,' Vincent said. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
