Little and the Jaguars celebrated widely as the half ended with the Steelers leading 14-9. Rookie sensation Travis Hunter was one of the first to greet him on the field, body-bumped each other in midair.
Baltimore's Justin Tucker holds the NFL mark, having made a 66-yarder at Detroit in 2021.
Little, a sixth-round draft pick from Arkansas in 2024, made 27 of 29 field-goal attempts as a rookie and all 27 extra points. His long was 59 yards.
He seemed to know his latest one was good from the onset. He watched intently and pumped his fist as it slid a little left and cleared the crossbar by several yards — far enough that the ball boy caught it in the air.

As you can guess, that's a pretty wide range. With all the organizational changes that the Jaguars have undergone this offseason, until we see them on the field, it's difficult to know exactly what to expect this season. To get an idea of how good--or bad--this year's Jaguars team can be, we turn to ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI). The projected win totals that this model came up with take into account 20,000 simulations of the entire 2025 season. To find the high and low win total marks, the ESPN research team picked out the middle 90% of those simulations to determine the floor and ceiling for each team. So what's the best and worst case scenario for the Jaguars based on the FPI model? On the high end, the Jaguars go 11-6. This offseason, in the midst of all those changes, an obvious priority was building around Trevor Lawrence. This started with hiring Liam Coen, who brings a Sean McVay-esque offense to Jacksonville, a system that has helped create successful offenses and quarterback play around the NFL. GM James Gladstone also reshaped the offensive line and added a lot more speed and playmaking, signing Dyami Brown and drafting Travis Hunter and Bhayshul Tuten. On the flip side, the Jaguars' low-end win total is a 5-12 record. As mentioned above, with a lot of newness comes a lot of unknown. Two new schemes are being implemented, and there can be a learning curve that comes with. This is also an inexperienced coaching staff, relative to the current positions they hold.

Sauce Gardner dealing with sore calf, status for Jets' preseason game against Giants up in the air
New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner sat out the team's joint practice with the Giants on Wednesday because of a sore calf. Gardner participated in practice Tuesday at the Jets' facility in Florham Park but wasn't spotted during the teams' session at the Giants' facility Wednesday. "Sauce wasn't out (there) today," coach Aaron Glenn said after practice. "He had some calf soreness. We'll continue to evaluate him and see exactly where he's at." Gardner has been one of the Jets' best players since being drafted fourth overall out of Cincinnati in 2022. He was the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year and was an All-Pro selection in his first two NFL seasons. The 24-year-old Gardner had a slightly off season, by his standards, last year but is still considered one of the league's elite cornerbacks. Gardner signed a four-year, $120.4 million extension through the 2030 season, making him the NFL's highest-paid player at his position. He also is the focal point of a new-look secondary for the Jets, who have Gardner and free-agent signing Brandon Stephens at cornerback, with Michael Carter as the nickelback and free-agent signing Andre Cisco and Tony Adams at safety. The Jets don't have another full practice before their preseason game against the Giants on Saturday night. Glenn declined to say whether he would play his starters in that game -- "The plan is the plan," is all he would divulge -- so it's unclear if Gardner would participate even if healthy. Typically, teams play their starters for a quarter or a half in the second game, using it as a warmup for the regular season while backups typically play the final preseason game. Rookie quarterback Brady Cook, an undrafted free agent out of Missouri, was back on the field after leaving practice Tuesday with an ankle injury after someone stepped on his foot. He didn't participate in team drills. "Held him out, but I anticipate him playing this week," Glenn said. "So that's good." Cook is one of just three healthy quarterbacks on the Jets' roster, with starter Justin Fields and Adrian Martinez. Glenn announced Tuesday that veteran backup Tyrod Taylor had arthroscopic knee surgery and wouldn't play the rest of the preseason.
