IAC welcomes Telangana's move to promote auto LPG, Urges nationwide adoption for clean Mobility
Hyderabad, June 11 (UNI) The Indian Auto LPG Coalition (IAC) on Wednesday welcomed Telangana government's decision to include Auto LPG as an approved fuel for 40,000 new eco-friendly autos within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits of Hyderabad.
This forward-thinking move is set to significantly reduce vehicular emissions in the city and marks a crucial step towards cleaner urban air, IAC said in a release.
As India strives to tackle rising air pollution and achieve its climate goals, it is imperative to utilize the full spectrum of clean fuels available.
Embracing a diverse mix of alternative fuels—including Auto LPG, CNG, electricity, and biofuels—will not only accelerate the transition to clean mobility but also enhance the nation's energy security, provide consumers with more choices, and ensure a practical, scalable approach to reducing emissions across the country.
Mr. Suyash Gupta, Director General of Indian Auto LPG Coalition, said, "Telangana government's decision to include Auto LPG as an eco-friendly fuel is a positive and timely move in India's fight against rising urban pollution. Including Auto LPG in alternative fuel policies not only helps reduce harmful vehicular emissions but also strengthens India's overall energy security by diversifying our fuel mix. Auto LPG is a proven, cost-effective, and readily available solution that can deliver immediate improvements in air quality, especially in our most polluted cities. We urge other states and the central government to adopt similar policies, ensuring that clean fuel options like Auto LPG are accessible to millions of vehicle owners nationwide."
On a related note, the IAC had also acknowledged the recent move by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to restrict the addition of new diesel and petrol vehicles to e-commerce and aggregator fleets in the Delhi-NCR region from January 1 next year.
Such decisive action is a significant milestone in India's journey towards clean mobility and reflects a strong commitment to addressing the rising pollution issues in one of the country's most critical regions.
"To achieve even more impactful and immediate results in curbing air pollution, it is essential that more OEMs start offering LPG variants and that the retrofitment is actively encouraged as well across the nation. With over 33crore petrol and diesel vehicles already on our roads, an outright ban or phase-out is simply not feasible in the short term. By incentivizing and streamlining retrofitment to cleaner fuels like Auto LPG, we can rapidly convert millions of existing vehicles into low-emission alternatives. Auto LPG is not only cost-effective for consumers but also delivers substantial reductions in harmful emissions, making our cities healthier and our air cleaner. We urge policymakers to complement this progressive fleet policy with robust support for retrofitment initiatives, ensuring a practical, sustainable, and inclusive transition to clean mobility for India's vast vehicle population," he added.

Microchip giant NVIDIA woos European markets amid ongoing US-China trade war
Santa Clara, June 12 (UNI) American microchip giant NVIDIA is now wooing European markets, pledging to build 20 AI factories across Europe, as the ongoing US-China trade war has led to the tech conglomerate to suffer huge losses. CEO Jensen Huang, speaking at the annual VivaTech conference in Paris on Wednesday, said that the company was building the world's first 'industrial artificial intelligence cloud' for European manufacturers. The Germany-based facility, a key part of the AI factory (specialised data center) initiative, is set to be equipped with 10,000 graphics processing units (GPUs), helping European firms such as carmaker BMW Group accelerate manufacturing applications – from design and engineering to robotics, reports South China Morning Post. Stating that Europe had now 'awakened' to the 'importance of AI factories and AI infrastructure', Huang added that NVIDIA plans to boost AI computing capacity in Europe tenfold over the next two years to help local researchers and start-ups address GPU shortages. NVIDIA has also announced a partnership with the French AI company Mistral AI to create a cloud platform powered by 18,000 of its latest chips, enabling European businesses to develop AI based on Mistral's models. To attract more European clients to counter the US restrictions on tech trade with China and make up for its losses in revenue, NVIDIA has been expanding its existing offerings such as DGX Cloud Lepton, an AI platform that provides a marketplace selling access to GPUs available from a growing network of cloud providers, the company said.

She stated that the RTGS system took shape from the visionary ideas of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and that Andhra Pradesh was the first state in the country to implement such a system. She mentioned that a comprehensive data lake is being developed by integrating data from all government departments, which will help make governance more streamlined and effective. The government aims to deliver all services directly to citizens via their mobile phones, eliminating the need for people to visit government offices. As part of this initiative, a WhatsApp Governance system under the name 'Mana Mitra' has been launched. An 'Aware Hub' has also been set up to provide real-time information on weather changes to the public. RTGS is continuously monitoring weather conditions in collaboration with ISRO. To ensure greater transparency and efficiency in government operations and to deliver better services to citizens, RTGS is extensively utilizing Artificial Intelligence. A dedicated AI Hub is being established within RTGS for this purpose. RTGS is also providing the necessary technological support to government departments to ensure that the benefits of government schemes and programs effectively reach the people. The Ethiopian delegation expressed appreciation for the functioning of RTGS and praised the Government of Andhra Pradesh for establishing such an impressive technological system. Odisha CM flags off Bhubaneswar-Abu Dhabi flight
Bhubaneswar, June 12 (UNI) A direct international flight service between Bhubaneswar and Abu Dhabi, operated by IndiGo, was flagged off by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here. The maiden flight, carrying 180 passengers, took off from BPIA after the Chief Minister formally inaugurated the service, which was launched under the Building Management of Aviation Assets and Network (B-MAAN) initiative. The new route is expected to enhance international connectivity, boost tourism and trade, and foster cultural exchange between Odisha and the Middle East. According to BPIA sources, the Bhubaneswar–Abu Dhabi–Bhubaneswar direct flight will operate three times a week — Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Bhubaneswar was previously connected to three international destinations: Dubai, Singapore, and Bangkok. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Majhi said the day marked a significant milestone, coinciding with the completion of one year of his government. He credited the Centre's support under the New Destination Policy for making the direct flight to Abu Dhabi possible. The Chief Minister noted that about 180 passengers, including some from Kolkata, boarded the inaugural flight from Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi. 'With this new direct flight, Odisha will now have stronger connections to the Middle East, which will contribute to the growth of commerce, tourism, industrial investment, and cultural exchange,' the Chief Minister stated. He also said that, alongside passenger services, cargo services have commenced. On Thursday, 50 tonnes of Amrapali mangoes were exported to Abu Dhabi. Efforts are underway, he said, to ensure that mangoes and other agricultural products from Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, and Nuapada reach international markets. The Chief Minister also announced that direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Visakhapatnam would resume. Highlighting the aviation achievements of his one-year tenure, Majhi said flight services from BPIA to Dehradun, Ghaziabad, Indore, Lucknow, and Port Blair have been launched. Additionally, flights from Jharsuguda to Hyderabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Raipur have also commenced. Majhi expressed confidence that BPIA will soon emerge as a major hub for IndiGo, drawing passengers from other cities to connect to a wider range of destinations. UNI DP PRS
