Indian singer-songwriter duo Natania and Subhi, who feature in the track, witnessed the magical moment at the film's Los Angeles premiere. Speaking to us from the US, they shared, 'It was a wild experience to see the Punjabi part of the song being played in an American theatre, and that too in an animated film like Smurfs.'
The artistes collaborated with DJ Khaled and Cardi B for the track.
Subhi added, 'We didn't know the placement of the song in the film when we recorded it. It comes at a time when the whole mood is celebratory. People were vibing to the Punjabi section of the song, especially seeing Smurfs dancing to it. Never imagined we'd see Smurfs dancing to Punjabi beats and lyrics. The audience didn't understand the words —they even asked me for the meaning — but they were vibing to the music. That's why we say music is universal.

Divya Deshmukh clinches Women's Chess World Cup gold: How much prize money will she receive?

Indian chess prodigy Divya Deshmukh became the youngest to win the FIDE Women's World Cup on Monday at just the age of 19, outshining the seasoned Koneru Humpy in the tie-breaker of an all-Indian final. With her win, a feat that left the teenager emotional, Deshmukh not only earned the prestigious title but also became a Grandmaster. The victory for the Nagpur player came after the two classical games played on Saturday and Sunday ended in draws. After the drawn games, it was the first set of tiebreakers that proved decisive as Humpy lost her ground. Divya Deshmukh became the 88th Grandmaster of the country, as she emerged victorious over Humpy at the FIDE Women's World Cup. She his now the fourth Indian woman player to achieve the GM feat after Humpy, Dronavalli Harika and R Vaishali. 'I need time to process it (win). I think it was fate, me getting the Grandmaster title this way because before this (tournament) I didn't even have one (GM) norm, and now I am the Grandmaster,' she said. Divya Deshmukh secured a gold, Humpy Koneru pocketed silver, while China's sensation Tan Zhongy finished the tournament with a bronze medal. According to the FIDE website, the total prize fund accumulated for this year's Women's World Cup was $691,250. Out of this, the winner will be given $50,000. This means Divya Deshmukh received a prize money of $50,000, or roughly ₹ 43.5 lakh for winning the prestigious championship. The FIDE World Cup also awards three spots to the FIDE Women's Candidates Tournament to be held in the first half of 2026. 'It will send great message': ISKCON books cinema hall to screen Mahavatar Narsimha for devotees

Made under the banner of Hombale Films, 'Mahavatar Narsimha' focuses on Lord Narasimha, the half-man and half-lion avatar of Lord Vishnu. Amid the rousing response and a decent box office performance, the film has also received praise from ISKCON. ISKCON Siliguri has booked an entire movie theatre to screen the film for devotees. "We have booked the whole movie theatre here for the devotees. Tomorrow as well, our devotees will come to watch this movie. A lot of devotees have come here to attend the screening. It will send a great message to the movie promotes Indian culture and helps people to understand our philosophy easily," ISKCON Silliguri spokesperson Nam Krishna Das told ANI. "Audiences across the country have praised the storyline, the VFX and the overall presentation. Watch it with your family and friends and feel the presence of Lord Narasimha!" the post further added. Written and directed by Ashwin Kumar, 'Mahavatar Narsimha' has connected with viewers from all age groups, with positive responses pouring across social media platforms. The makers have also shared updates on the film's performance, revealing that it became the #1 movie at the Indian box office on Monday, July 28. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the animation film's Hindi version has collected ₹ 14.70 crore within three days of release, thus bringing another addition to Hombale Films' hit slate. The production house is known for delivering award-winning blockbusters like the 'KGF' franchise and 'Kantara'. It is now slated for the release of 'Kantara: Chapter 1' in October this year. (ANI)
