Hyderabad: In view of previous dog bite incidents in parks, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation had decided to allow only licensed pet dogs in parks and urged the owners to register their pets with GHMC. This directive was issued during GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan's inspection of ongoing development works at the KBR Park in Jubilee Hills. The commissioner stressed the importance of responsible pet ownership and instructed officials to strictly enforce the new rule to maintain cleanliness and safety within the parks in Hyderabad. He urged all pet dog owners within GHMC jurisdiction to register their furry companions through the MyGHMC app. This free and easy process will provide pet owners with essential information and support, while also helping GHMC in its efforts to ensure responsible pet ownership. By registering their pets, owners will receive timely reminders about vaccinations and de-worming schedules Later, Karnan reviewed progress on walker-friendly infrastructure, urging engineers to adopt innovative and efficient methods to complete the projects. The commissioner also reviewed the flyovers and underpasses being built under the H-City project and questioned their compliance with court orders. Engineers confirmed that all works are within the sensitive zone and follow court guidelines. The Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Commissioner Subhadra, DC Sammayya, EE Manya Nayak, SE Sri Lakshmi, Dy EE Harish, Circle EE Vijay Kumar, and other officials. Earlier, on June 1, Commissioner Karnan visited Malakpet to assess ongoing joint operations by GHMC and the Water Board aimed at resolving traffic congestion caused by drainage overflow. He reviewed night-time drainage works and the RDP works from Necklace Road Railway Station to Kundan Bagh. He directed engineering teams to speed up the work, increase manpower, and ensure 24-hour operations to avoid further public inconvenience. A Reddit user who spent 15 years in the US shared the pitfalls of being an H-1B visa holder. While US tech workers are raging against H-1B visa holders for stealing their jobs, a Reddit post of a H-1B visa holder has grabbed the attention as the person sought advice on moving back to India -- after 15 years. The person came to the US as a student and then started working but now after 15 years, the user feels tired of restrictions. The restrictions that come being an H-1B visa holder. "Can't go anywhere, can't start my business," the Reddit post read. "The title and I want to work as a Product Manager. Do you think there will be problem in getting jobs in India? Backstory- I 37F, came to the US as a student in 2010, right after engineering. Started working in 2012 and ever since then I have been employed as a technology consultant. Now I am tired of the restrictions. Endless H1B stamping cycles. Can't go anywhere, can't start my own businesses. I want to explore what India can offer but I also want to work as a Product Manger. Will there be problem in finding jobs and starting my own small business?" the post said. A Reddit user expressed desire to move back to India after spending 15 years in the US. The comment section was mostly welcoming as people shared their experience of moving back to India almost for the same reason. "I came back a few months ago after 10 years, for similar reasons as yours. Trying to start my own business. I miss many things about US and dislike many things about here, but being able to explore business ideas of my own, and not having to worry about the visa bs far outweighs the negatives. So far anyways," one wrote. "My dad's friend did this and he is incredibly happy with his decision. He not only does well but every so often will pick up contract jobs that helps build investment money for his true passion," another reply said. H-1B has become a contentious issue with MAGA activists wanting the Donald Trump administration to completely shut the program in favor of American workers. The administration has taken crucial steps to arrest the inflow of international students but has not made a stand on H-1B. This visa program majoly contributes to the Silicon Valley as tech companies hire from foreign countries to save money.
