42 Dresses That'll Let Your Legs Breathe After A Long Winter Of Tights And Pants
Just wait 'til the sun hits your knees.
All sizes in this post are listed in women's.
1. A midi corset dress that'll help scratch that cottagecore itch for the TikTok-famous House of CB Carmen dress. Except for nearly $200 less.
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Check it out on TikTok.
Promising reviews: "Bought this dress because I always wanted to get the House of CB dress but didn't want to pay over $250 for it. It's honestly so good! I got the size large in this since they didn't have my normal sizes, which are small to medium (I have a bigger chest, so I tend to size up). But since this has a corset back, I was able to cinch it up really tight, and it fit perfectly!" — Chris Herfurth Kennedy
"Beautiful, stunning perfection. This may be the best thing I've ever bought on Amazon. The corset in the back makes it fit like it was made for me. It's double-lined and not see-through at all, even though it's white. The straps are adjustable, the slit is a good height, and the fabric is slightly stretchy. I cannot say enough good things about it. It did come slightly wrinkly in the skirt, but nothing that a good steam won't fix." — Shoshanna
Get it from Amazon for $53.99 (available in sizes 0–14 and 17 colors/styles).
2. A floor-length gown will look soooo pretty whether you're wearing it as a bridesmaid in your friend's wedding or in impromptu photo shoot by your pal who just got a new camera.
Promising review:"Dress is very pretty and it fit very well for my plus-size body type. I was super comfortable in it. I didn't feel like it made me look frumpy like some other dresses do. Bought size 22, the chest is for larger breasts so it was a little loose but it didn't collapse down if that makes since to anyone." — Jonella
"This is probably one of my favorite dresses! I ordered it for a wedding. The color is beautiful! The fit is perfection for a plus-size girl like myself. I usually wear a 14/16 in certain dresses. The 16 fit great!! I am 5'2, I will admit I should've had the dress hemmed about two inches because I tripped a few times. But nothing worth complaining about." — Shay Jackson
Get it from Amazon for $42.99+ (available in sizes 0–30 and in 31 colors)
3. A moisture-wicking sleeveless workout dress because I don't know about you, but I'm seeing more and more people wearing sweat-wicking workout gear on the reg while doing errands (and not just leggings!) to help survive in the heat. So you'll likely reach for this super often. AND it has a few secrets...pocketed shorts underneath and a built-in bra!
Promising review:"This dress is AMAZING. I love the removable bra pads. This is a dress you could work out in. The material is very breathable, and I LOVE how deep the pockets are. They easily fit my iPhone 11. I hardly ever order clothes online because I'm so picky with how clothes fit. This is a winner. I'm going to buy more colors!! Just buy it!" — Manda
Get it from Amazon for $29.99 (available in sizes XS–XXL and in 10 colors/patterns).

Promising reviews:"I finally bought this dress after seeing it all over TikTok and HOLY SMOKES. I cannot believe how universally [good it looks on people]. It's absolutely stunning!" — Catherine Thriveni
"This dress is amazing! The fabric is so soft and silky but also has structure and because the sides are ruched, I can adjust it to the perfect length, which means a lot when you're only 5'1". The ruching allows me to control the amount of fabric gathered in the tummy and behind areas. To sum it all up, I LOVE the dress and plan on purchasing at least two more in the army green and the brown because this style dress can also be worn in the fall and spring months with a basic or colored denim jacket and a cute pair of boots or booties!" — Tonya

Promising review:"It comes just below the knees and covers the shoulders, so this dress was perfect for my recent trip to Asia. I was able to go into all of the temples without needing an extra cover. The striking color came out beautiful in my photos also. The material doesn't really wrinkle, so it was easy to pull out of the bag and throw on. Promising review:"I bought this for my birthday party this month (July). The dress came on time, fit me perfectly in every area and the material was fantastic for the price. I found no downsides to this dress other than the mesh is hotter than it looks. Having been born in the summer I'm used to it but it's definitely toasty! I thought it was a beautiful addition to my closet. Dark but not tacky is my fashion goal LOL. I found it to be a bit itchy, but I have the most sensitive skin of all time. 25. An airy nap dress I own and plan to wear as much as possible. It's super easy to adjust the puff sleeves from on- to off-the-shoulder to fit your mood.
I know, I look SO elegant and not at all like I've been running on ~three hours of sleep a night for going on a week at this point of my vacation, right?! I packed it for Italy knowing that I'd be going in lots of churches and religious sites that require having your shoulders and knees covered, and I pulled it off with this by merely slipping the sleeves up higher (as seen on the right when visiting the church with The Mouth of Truth from A Roman Holiday...turns out I'm NOT a liar after all). But I owned this dress months before I touched down in Rome and have been racking up compliments from strangers on the streets of NYC thanks to this frock. ("Thanks! It's from Amazon!') It washes well, is super lightweight, and very easy to wear with a regular bra. The only thing it *doesn't* have is pockets. But I'll make an exception for this comfy beaut.

Promising review:"I purchased this to have as a dinner dress for a cruise that my husband and I went on this past winter. 8 top new movies to stream this week on Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu and more (Aug. 19-25)
It's set to be a huge week for new movies across the best streaming services, with Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu and more offering subscribers new flicks to enjoy. Meanwhile, on premium video-on-demand platforms, two of the biggest movies of the summer, 'Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning' and 'F1: The Movie,' make the move from the big screen to at-home streaming. It's also a jam-packed week for family-friendly animated movies, with not one, not two, but three new options, including Pixar's latest original effort, 'Elio,' which sees a young boy rub shoulders with a colorful crew of aliens, and also fan-favorite sequel 'The Bad Guys 2.' If you're looking for something new to watch this week, I've picked out the biggest newcomers across streaming services. And be sure to check out the top new TV shows this week if you're in the mood for some binge-watching. After a surprisingly lengthy theatrical run, by modern standards at least, 'Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning' makes its streaming bow this week, and the action blockbuster is sure to be just as thrilling watched from the comfort of your own home as it was in the cinema. Unfortunately, 'The Final Reckoning' has to pay for the narrative sins of its somewhat messy predecessor, but it offers some of the franchise's best set-piece moments, which is quite a feat considering the pedigree of the 'Mission: Impossible' series. Following on from 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning' (fun fact: this movie was originally entitled 'Dead Reckoning - Part 2"), superspy Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is still racing against time to shut down a rogue AI known as the Entity. Assembling his IMF squad, including Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg, 'The Final Reckoning' offers a global-trotting action romp. If it's truly the final 'Mission: Impossible' movie, it's a largely fitting conclusion for the iconic action series. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Buy on Amazon from August 19 Pixar's 'Elio' was a box-office disappointment for Disney's crown jewel animation studio, but the House of Mouse will be hoping it can find a second life over on streaming. However, I suspect that many viewers will be patiently waiting for its Disney Plus drop in a few weeks, but if you're eager to join Elio on his intergalactic adventures right now, you can watch on premium streaming platforms starting this week. The movie centers on the eponymous Elio, a bright-eyed young boy with big dreams of going to space. He doesn't have to wait until he's older to fulfill this wish to explore the stars, either. One day, while at summer camp, he's unexpectedly beamed up by aliens and taken to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization for all the beings of the galaxy to share their knowledge. The wrinkle is that his new alien pals believe he's an ambassador for Earth and desperately need his help. Buy or rent on Amazon from August 19 If you're looking for a family-friendly movie with a little more attitude, 'The Bad Guys 2' could be the perfect pick for you and your little ones. It focuses on a group of reformed villains, led by the wily Mr. Wolf (Sam Rockwell), and is a colorful heist caper starring a very motley crew. "The Bad Guys 2" has proved to be not only a hit with critics over the summer (scoring a very strong 87% on Rotten Tomatoes) but it's also gone down a treat with viewers, holding an even more impressive 95% audience score on RT. 'The Bad Guys 2' sees the entire crew return, including Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake (Marc Maron), Mr. Piranha (Anthony Ramos), Mr. Shark (Craig Robinson) and Ms. Tarantula (Awkwafina). These former crooks are trying to be good and live honest lives, but they're drawn back into the criminal world to help with a high-stakes heist by a new team, The Bad Girls. Buy or rent on Amazon from August 19 I did a double-take when poring over the streaming release schedule when I saw 'The Map That Leads to You' because the name is very similar to another teen romance drama, 'The Map of Tiny Perfect Things,' which landed on Prime Video back in 2021. Unfortunately, this new streaming movie lacks the time-travel twist of Prime's previous map-themed original, and instead looks like a pretty bog-standard drama about doe-eyed young lovers and their complicated affair. Heather (Madelyn Cline) is heading off on a European adventure after her graduation. With her two best friends (Sofia Wylie and Madison Thompson) in tow, it's set to be a dream summer before Heather returns to her 'real' life, which has been perfectly planned out. Of course, life doesn't always follow a script, and when she meets Jack (KJ Apa), she starts to reconsider her future and the path laid out before her. Watch on Prime Video from August 20 Samara Weaving leading a heist-thriller movie, sign me up! That's the quick elevator pitch for 'Eenie Meanie,' and it's quite a compelling one. It's a good thing the core premise has plenty of potential, because the name is hardly going to attract many viewers on its own. Seriously, at first, I assumed this was some form of educational movie for pre-schoolers. Rather, it's the feature film debut of writer/director Shawn Simmons, and sees Weaving play Edie (nicknamed Eenie Meanie), a getaway driver, who's dragged into a dangerous job by a former employer, with the life of her unreliable and troubled ex-boyfriend (Karl Glusman) at stake. Taking clear cues from 'Baby Driver,' this high-speed thriller looks like it could be a bit of a sleeper hit. Watch on Hulu from August 22 Cynics could accuse 'F1: The Movie' of being little more than a 155-minute commercial for the popular motorsport competition. I'll acknowledge the level of product placement is high, this sports drama from 'Top Gun Maverick' director Joseph Kosinski is a breakneck ride with some of the best vehicular sequences captured on film since … well, since 'Top Gun Maverick. Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a wandering driver, who is recruited to a struggling Formula 1 team desperate for an experienced motorist to work with their hotshot rookie, Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). Battling his personal demons and friction within the team, Sonny needs all his expertise behind the wheel to come out on top. Outside of the car, 'F1: The Movie' follows the standard sports movie formula very closely, but the conventional narrative beats melt into the background when the characters get behind the wheel and Kosinski gets to show this masterful ability to construct high-speed racing drama. Buy or rent on Amazon from August 22 As noted, it's a big week for animated family movies, and Peacock subscribers can look forward to streaming 'Night of the Zoopocalypse' over the weekend. There looks to be a direct-to-DVD quality about this one, with fairly generic animation and a predictable story focused on a group of anthropomorphic animals living in a zoo, but it should at least provide suitable entertainment for young viewers. In 'Night of the Zoopocalypse,' a meteor crashes into Colepepper Zoo, which sees several of the animals transform into slobbering mutants, and to save the day, and restore the zoo to its usual harmony, Gracie (Gabbi Kosmidis), a young wolf, must team up with Dan (David Harbour), a gruff mountain lion. It's a little out of season, with Halloween more than two months away, but 'Night of the Zoopocaylpse' should serve as a solid summer time filler. Watch on Peacock from August 22 'On Swift Horses' is a romantic drama that sells itself on its impressive cast list of rising stars, including Daisy Edgar-Jones, Jacob Elordi, Will Poulter, Diego Calva and Sasha Celle. It received mixed reviews during its limited theatrical run in the spring. But I expect it'll enjoy a fresh wave of interest now that it's heading to the world's biggest streaming service. Muriel (Edgar-Jones) and Lee (Poulter) are a married couple moving to California after the latter returns home from the Korean War. But their attempt to find peace and stability is rocked when Lee's younger brother, Julius (Elordi), shows up and upends their plans. What follows is a knotty tale of love, drama and unexpected passion. Some critics accused the movie of being a little emotionally messy, but the cast's performances received plenty of praise, especially Elordi's. Watch on Netflix from August 23

This 56-Year-Old Man's Mexico Facelift Has Broken The Internet, And Millions Of People Are Questioning Everything They Thought They Knew About Plastic Surgery
Disclaimer: This post does not reflect BuzzFeed's views on cosmetic surgery. We believe everyone is enough just as they are, but we also support personal choices that help you feel confident and empowered in your own skin. We recently covered 51-year-old Michelle Wood's incredible facelift transformation... Michelle got the work done in Guadalajara, Mexico, and was able to save herself tens of thousands of dollars. She has been documenting the journey on TikTok, where her story has become mega viral. So, it's no surprise that now a man who has also had a facelift with unbelievable results in Guadalajara is going viral. 56-year-old David Dickson got a facelift a little over a year ago, and this is what he looked like right before his surgery: Related: And here he is after he healed: Again, here is David before: @ / And here he is after: @ / I think this goes without saying, but David's look stunned millions of people. People were saying his results were so amazing, it reminded them of the '90s film Death Becomes Her, where the actors Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn drink a potion to regain their youth. Related: On average, most people agreed that David looked about two decades younger. And some people thought he looked even younger! Either way, both his and Michelle's results have persuaded a lot of people to consider Mexico for plastic surgery. BuzzFeed spoke to David who said he had a lower facelift, a neck lift, upper blepharoplasty, lower earlobe reduction, and a CO2 laser treatment. Related: After his cousin had a successful stomach surgery in Mexico, David said he was set on having his plastic surgery done there as well. "I had been searching for a surgeon in Mexico because I knew I couldn't afford one here in the States. I was familiar with the healthcare system in Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara and knew it wasn't as scary or antiquated as many people make it out to be. After interviewing several surgeons, I had narrowed my choices down to two in Guadalajara. During this process, I met a friend online who was also planning to use the same surgeon I finally decided on. We kept in touch as our surgery dates approached. After her surgery, she was in the recovery house and recommended I look up Dr. Maribel Belmontes Castillo, saying her work was impeccable. I took her advice, and the rest is history. I am so grateful for her recommendation." Dr. Belmontes Castillo is also the exact same surgeon Michelle from our previous article used. In fact, she joined a Facebook group David started about his plastic surgery journey in Guadalajara after getting her surgery. "She has credited the page to helping her along the way," he said. David's Facebook group is called Renewal with Dra. Maribel Belmontes — Est 2024. David said that after surgery, he had to stay in Guadalajara for 10 days to recover. Here is where some of his stitches were: And here he is in the days following his surgery: David DIckson "I believe that anyone contemplating plastic surgery should take the time to explore their options and discuss experiences with others. During my research, I joined several Facebook groups, but while some were helpful, they didn't quite meet my needs. That is why I created my own Facebook group dedicated to past, present, and prospective patients, aiming to assist others embarking on this journey. I shared my travel experiences, surgery details, and recovery process, wanting to give an honest portrayal of the entire experience." "I frequently receive feedback about how beneficial the group has been and how it has eased many worries. A common sentiment expressed is that the surgery itself wasn't as daunting as expected, a sentiment I share as well. I experienced minimal pain, just some discomfort for around three days," he added. Related: David told BuzzFeed that all of his cosmetic work and a one-night stay in the hospital cost around $9,000, and that includes his roundtrip airfare from Atlanta. His meds, 10 days in a Guadalajara Recovery House with 24/7 care, meals, and post-care therapy (hyperbaric chambers, radiofrequency treatment, etc.) ended up costing around $5,000. So, in total, he spent around $14,000 for everything. That being said, David said that Dr. Belmontes Castillo's prices have increased quite a bit since her work has gone so viral on TikTok. Since going viral, David has had a lot of comments about his age. "Personally, I believe I could easily pass for someone in their mid-40s," he shared. And before his surgery, David also lost a lot of weight. "After losing 100 pounds, my goal was to achieve a look that more closely resembled my actual age. The excess skin sagging on me made me appear older than I truly was. I felt like I looked in my 60s before getting the lift. Now, when I gaze in the mirror, I feel more authentically myself than I did before." "Men, as we age, are fortunately now more focused on self-care, incorporating healthy diets, exercise routines, and even delving into facial skincare. Society is beginning to acknowledge this as a usual practice, not only for women but also for us men. I believe we should take charge of every facet of our well-being, and if that entails considering plastic surgery, whether minor or major, it's worth exploring. Advances in technology have come a long way, making the results barely perceptible. The overly tight and pulled-back appearance of the past is no longer the norm," David said. David Dickson David is proof that the advances in plastic surgery procedures have come a long way — and that you don't need to be a wealthy celebrity to have great results. "It is amazing how much your self-confidence can be improved by a procedure that can be performed in a few hours. I know that for me, the reflection in the mirror did not match how I felt on the inside, but now it does," David concluded. Lastly, David said he hopes that sharing his experience helps men who are interested in plastic surgery become more comfortable with it. You can follow David on TikTok and Facebook.
