Ohio State announces 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame class
Price played for the Buckeyes from 2014 to 2017 and is also a two-time All-American. He set the record for starts and consecutive starts as a Buckeye with 55 as a four-year starter. The 2017 season was especially productive for Price. Not only did he win the Rimington Award, which is handed out annually to the best center in college football. He was also named the Big Ten Conference's Rimington-Pace offensive lineman of the year that season in addition to becoming a unanimous All-American. Price retired from the NFL after six seasons for medical reasons in May of 2024.
Joining Price in being enshrined in OSU's Hall of Fame class this fall are Bianca Alvarez (diving), Katarzyna Dabrowa(fencing), Veronica Jatsek (women's track and field), Myles Martin (wrestling), Mary Olsen (women's gymnastics), Kim Reeder (softball), Blaz Rola (men's tennis), John 'Jack' Varga (rifle) and Alex Wimmers (baseball).
The 2025 HOF class will be officially inducted during a dinner Oct. 3 in the Covelli Center and recognized at Ohio Stadium when the Buckeye football team hosts Minnesota Oct. 4. Ticket information for the dinner will be available later this summer, and when it is, we'll have more information.

Ohio State wide receiver gets Heisman prediction going into sophomore season
It's no shock that Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is already landing on preseason awards watch lists. He recently landed on the Maxwell Award Watch List, which is given to the player judged to be the best in the country. Given Smith's phenomenal freshman season, it's no surprise to see him on this list. It also won't be a surprise to see that some experts are predicting Smith to take home college football's most coveted individual award, the Heisman Trophy. On3's JD Pickell and host of The Hard Count has logged his prediction for Jeremiah Smith to become the seventh Buckeye to win the Heisman. That prediction not only says a lot about Smith but also what he feels will come from presumed starting quarterback Julian Sayin. If Smith is to win the eighth Heisman in Ohio State history, he will need a competent quarterback to get him the ball. Pickell is clearly all in on Sayin as plug and play. In fact, Pickell feels so strongly in the duo, he has Ohio State making it back to the national championship game. However, he would stop short of predicting back-to-back championships for the Bucks, having them fall to the LSU Tigers. Pickell has LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier finishing as the runner-up to Smith in the Heisman race. Those are some lofty expectations for the Buckeyes, but nothing that is out of the realm of possibility. If things play out the way Pickell sees it, this will be an overwhelmingly successful season, especially with the number of NFL draft picks the Buckeyes lost. Let's be honest, nothing outside of a win over Michigan and a national championship will be good enough for most og Buckeye Nation. It's a long season, and Ohio State has a tough road ahead. That road starts in just about a month when Texas comes to town for the season opener.

2025 Big Ten Title Odds: 'People Are Seeing USC As The Value'
The Big Ten has suddenly become the home of College Football Playoff champions. After Michigan won it all in 2023, four teams from the Big Ten reached the College Football Playoff last season, including now-defending national champion Ohio State. The Buckeyes are co-favorites to win the 2025-26 CFP, too. Yet, interestingly, in Big Ten championship odds at Caesars Sports, early money isn't landing where many might expect. "USC is really the big story," Caesars Sports head of football trading Joey Feazel said. "USC opened 35/1 and is down to 16/1." Feazel helps dive into how bettors are playing Big Ten Conference title odds. Value Shopping Ohio State is the tidy +190 favorite to win the Big Ten title this season. Penn State is close behind at +210, then defending Big Ten champ Oregon at +340. All three of those teams, along with Indiana, reached the College Football Playoff last season. But bettors apparently want a little more bang for their buck in Big Ten football odds. Getting Southern Cal at +3500 looks pretty good right now. If you'd jumped on early with a $100 bet at 35/1, then you'd be looking at potentially $3,500 in profit with a USC conference title. "USC is fourth in ticket count, but leading the money in futures wagers," Feazel said. "A lot of action is coming in on USC. People are seeing USC as the value. "One thing we know: The Trojans have a good offense, but a defense with something to be desired. But they start out with a couple of cupcakes, and maybe they can build up from there." Southern Cal hosts FCS foe Missouri State in the Aug. 30 opener, then hosts Sun Belt outfit Georgia Southern on Sept. 6. Another popular team in Big Ten championship odds is a little less surprising to Feazel. "The Nebraska Cornhuskers are leading the ticket count. That's the case almost every year," Feazel said. "There's always some hype in the offseason that the next season is when they return to their former glory. "So there are a lot of tickets, but not necessarily a lot of money." As such, you can still get Nebraska at +3500. Parlay Play Penn State is No. 2 in ticket count and money in Caesars' Big Ten championship odds, followed by Ohio State. But those two teams' short prices — and corresponding modest payouts if either win the conference title — have bettors looking for other ways to utilize the Big Ten's top two teams. "Futures parlays are very popular now, and those two teams are very involved in those," Feazel said. For example: With the Buckeyes at +190 to win the Big Ten, if a bettor parlays that with, say, Texas +360 to win the SEC and the Buffalo Bills +625 to win the Super Bowl, the payout is significantly better. Add those three legs up in a parlay, and you've got odds of +9571, or about 96/1. So a $100 bet profits $9,571.50. However, all three legs have to get there. And as I often note: Parlays are a bookmaker's best friend. So keep that in mind. A Turtle's Pace Maryland is on the opposite side of the Big Ten championship odds coin. Almost no one believes in the Terrapins, who at +40000 (400/1) are the 16th choice at Caesars, among 18 teams. "The anti-favorite action is on Maryland. The Terrapins have gotten one bet to win the Big Ten," Feazel said. Only Northwestern and Purdue have longer Big Ten odds, both at +50000. Price is attempting to make the jump from UFL star to a role with the Saints at cornerback The New Orleans Saints are down to a 38-day wait until their regular season opener against the Arizona Cardinals. Wearing No. 38 for the Saints in training camp is cornerback Jayden Price, one of the team's newcomers. If he makes the team and keeps his current number, Price will become the 17th player to wear No. 38 for the franchise. Our Saints Player of the Day, here's a closer look at Price's background. At Mulvane High School in Kansas, Price was a quarterback who set school records for career rushing yardage and touchdowns. He'd accept an offer to North Dakota State from there, where he'd star for five years after a redshirt. Over his career with the Bison, Price had 3 interceptions with 17 passes broken up and 3 fumble recoveries. He was also an accomplished punt returner, averaging 14.4 yards per return and scoring 5 touchdowns. Undrafted in 2024, Price would sign with the Atlanta Falcons. He'd be released before the start of the regular season and had a short stint with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL before joining up with the Arlington Renegades of the United Football League. Price was one of the standouts for the Renegades, who were one of the top teams in the UFL. He led the UFL with 13 passes broken up in 10 games. While he didn't record an interception, Price did have a half sack among his 27 total tackles. He was also among the UFL leaders in kickoff and punt return yardage. Jayden Price is now among the contenders to fill out the Saints depth chart at cornerback. He'll have a shot, as New Orleans attempts to fill the departures of Marshon Lattimore, Paulson Adebo, and Shemar Jean-Charles.
