Magda Szubanski breaks down in tears in moving acceptance speech as she is inducted into the 2025 Logies Hall of Fame
The comedian, 64, was unable to attend the event in person because she is immunocompromised as she undergoes treatment for stage 4 cancer.
But that didn't stop the Kath and Kim star from bringing the audience to tears with laughter and sadness as she graciously accepted the honour.
'I am so sorry I cannot be there. I do have a good excuse this time, normally I don't come because I can't be bothered getting out of my pyjamas,' she said.
'This time there really is a reason. I want to say first of all, let's get this out of the way, I have not been awarded this honour because I have the cancer.'

'I am getting this because of 40 years of hard work. Lobbying, bribing, threatening, whatever it took. Finally it has all paid off,' she joked.
Magda then struggled to contain her emotions as she thanked her friends, fans, and supporters.
'The love and support that I have felt, like a tsunami, from the Australian public, it has been overwhelming and I have to tell you, it really helps,' she began.
'I did not think I was going to cry,' she then added as she teared up.
'When I go online and look at those messages, every time, my heart lifts. And I feel that much stronger to deal with the cancer.
'So thank you for the love that you are pouring my way, I really feel it.'
A wave of A-list stars stepped out to help induct Magda into the Hall of Fame on Sunday night.
Today Extra co-host David Campbell introduced the segment, with Magda being the godmother to his daughter Betty, seven.
Stars who shared their tributes included big names like Hamish Blake, Dannii Minogue, Ally Langdon, Julia Morris, and Poh Ling Yeow.
The Irwins, Melissa McCarthy, Rebel Wilson, and Kathy Lette were also among many others who shared kind words for the Australian star.
Marg Downey accepted the award on her behalf.
Magda is the fifth woman to be inducted into the Hall of Fame since it was introduced in 1984.
She has joined the likes of Ruth Cracknell, Noni Hazlehurst, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, and Rebecca Gibney.
Two months ago, Magda revealed she had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
She appeared on camera with a shaved head to reveal the shocking news after beginning her treatment for cancer.
'Hello, my lovelies. So, the head is shaved in anticipation of it all falling out in a couple of weeks because I have just been diagnosed with a very rare, very aggressive, very serious lymphoma,' she said.
Magda also revealed she has started treatment in Melbourne called the Nordic protocol, which treats mantle cell lymphoma by shrinking the tumours with a combination of drugs administered in five phases.
It's known as the Nordic regimen based on its clinical trial sites in Denmark and Norway.
The actress explained she will be 'lying very low' due to her weak immune system.

Teddi Mellencamp breaks down in tears asking if cancer diagnosis was 'payback' for her affair
Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp finally broke her silence regarding the alleged affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schroeder. While appearing on Tuesday's episode of The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, the reality star, 44, opened up about the controversy that made headlines in late 2024. 'I've never talked about it at all, just because of the kids, and I've never wanted anybody to have a guarantee whether it happened or didn't happen,' Mellencamp explained. 'But what I can say is, did I do things that hurt other people? Yes.' As her eyes welled with tears, the mother-of-three reflected on how deeply the situation continues to affect her, without confirming or denying whether the cheating scandal occurred. 'To this day, does it still hurt my heart and I wonder if that's why I got cancer? Major country star forced to cancel shows after cancer diagnosis leads to health challenges
Country band The Mavericks have canceled several upcoming performances after lead singer Raul Malo continues treatment for stage 4 cancer. The group recently pulled out of their scheduled appearance aboard the 2026 Outlaw Country Cruise, with Raul, 59, preparing to undergo hernia surgery linked to previous cancer-related operations. 'Hey everyone, due to Raul's upcoming treatment schedule, The Mavericks will unfortunately no longer be a part of the Sandy Beaches Cruise 2026,' the band wrote in a recent Instagram post. 'Next January, Raul will undergo hernia surgery to repair complications from a previous operation. 'The recovery time following this procedure will require us to take the first couple months of 2026 off for him to rest and recuperate, and hopefully be the final hurdle in his cancer treatment.'
