4-star, top 100 PF Quinn Costello to reportedly visit Michigan State during 'Grind Week'
Quinn Costello of The Newman School in Boston will reportedly take an official visit to Michigan State on September 5, according to 247Sports insider Justin Thind. This official visit will align with the Spartans' annual "Grind Week" event that brings together former players, current players and prospects for a monster Michigan State basketball reunion and recruiting event.
Costello is a four-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 96.53 in 247Sports' composite system. He is listed at 6-foot-10, and ranks as the No. 12 power forward and No. 72 overall prospect in the class.
Michigan State is one of nearly 30 schools that have offered Costello, according to 247Sports. He also holds notable offers from Boston College, Florida State, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn State, Providence, Purdue, Stanford, Syracuse, Texas, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.
Costello visiting Michigan State during "Grind Week" would certainly suggest he is a top priority for the Spartans. This is annually a huge event for recruiting purposes and having him on campus for this event makes it clear he's someone Michigan State's staff is prioritizing in the 2026 class.

Michigan State hockey lands in-state commitment from Brooks Rogowski
Michigan State hockey is on a recruiting heater right now, with the Spartans landing yet another prospect, this time, turning to a local, in-state player for the future roster. Brooks Rogowski, a Brighton (MI) native, has committed to play for Michigan State. A 6-foot-6, 215 pound forward, Rogowski has played two seasons with Detroit Catholic Central High School. This past season and this upcoming season, he will be in the OHL with the Oshawa Generals. He is a 2008 born player. Notably, Rogowski will be featured on Team USA for the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Slovakia later this month. CBS Sports predicts Michigan State football's first loss of the 2025 season
Who will be the Spartans first loss of the 2025 season? Brad Crawford of CBS Sports has an answer. Crawford recently released his projected first loss for every Big Ten team, and the Spartans' first defeat of the season is not all too surprising. Crawford sees Michigan State's first loss coming out in Los Angeles during the Spartans' first road trip of the season at USC on September 20. This is also the Spartans' first Big Ten game of the season. Here's what Crawford had to say about Michigan State: "The Spartans will go as far as Aidan Chiles can take them, as long as the defense holds up. Barring an early stumble, a potential season-defining Week 4 clash in Los Angeles could turn the tide for Jonathan Smith's first season -- though winning at the Coliseum won't come easy." With Crawford predicting the Spartans' first loss coming at USC, this would mean he believes Michigan State will open the season 3-0 with a perfect non-conference record. That is notable because the Spartans host Boston College during a marquee week two matchup from Spartan Stadium -- which I personally consider a make-or-break game for the 2025 season.
