TSG take on World Tour giants in Spain
TSG's foreign riders achieved decent results with Stefan de Bod coming in 24th (+2:01s), Mathias Bregnhoj was 33rd (+2:59s), Vadim Pronskiy was 36th (+3:05s) while Anatolii Budiak was 51st (+5:28s) from over 120 riders who started the race.
TSG's local trio Kee Zhe Yie, Nur Aiman Rosli and Nur Aiman Zariff, however, did not finish the 185.8 kilometre race which started in Roquetes and ended in Tortosa, featuring a brace of category three climbs.
The pace was strong from the start as the UCI 1.1 race featured UCI WorldTeam squads from UAE Team Emirates, XDS Astana Team, Movistar Team and EF Education-EasyPost.
Team Emirates' Isaac del Toro - runner-up at this year's Giro d'Italia - claimed victory in 4:23:58s. Astana's Christian Scaroni came in second (+46s) while EF Education-EasyPost's Lukas Nerurkar (+51s) completed the podium.
Davide Formolo (8th, Movistar) and Diego Ulissi (9th, Astana) were among the other big names in the top-10.
TSG riders will next head to the Basque Country for the Ordiziako Classic (167km) on Friday (July 25).
They will conclude their campaign in Spain with the Circuito de Getxo-Memorial Hermanos Otxoa race (172.2km) on Aug 3. All three events are UCI 1.1 races which are part of the UCI European Tour.

Soccer-Xavi application for India coaching job was a hoax, AIFF says
Soccer Football - LaLiga - FC Barcelona Training - Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, Barcelona, Spain - November 3, 2023 Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez with players during training REUTERS/Albert Gea/File Photo (Reuters) -The All India Football Federation (AIFF) confirmed on Saturday that a job application attributed to former Barcelona manager and Spain midfielder Xavi Hernandez for the India head coaching role was a hoax. The AIFF's national team director told The Times of India on Thursday that Xavi's name was on the list of applicants. The report also quoted an AIFF technical committee member saying the his candidacy was deemed too expensive to pursue. "The AIFF received an email furnishing the applications from Spanish coaches Pep Guardiola and Xavi Hernandez. The authenticity of their applications could not be confirmed, and it has since emerged that the email applications were not genuine," the AIFF said in a statement. It had not been previously reported that the AIFF had also received an application purporting to be from Manchester City manager Guardiola. The AIFF Technical Committee said it had reviewed 170 applications for the Indian men's head coach role, narrowing the list to 10 before short-listing three candidates. The AIFF sacked former India manger Igor Stimac in June last year before appointing Spaniard Manolo Marquez, who left the job this month and returned to his role as coach of Indian Super League team FC Goa. TSG rider claims Most Combative Rider award at Ordiziako Classic
KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu Cycling Team's (TSG) Spanish Classics campaign continued on a positive note at the Ordiziako Classic in the Basque Country yesterday (July 25). Stefan de Bod's spirited efforts in the 167 kilometre race saw him rewarded with the Most Combative Rider award in the UCI 1.1 event which is part of the UCI European Tour. The South African joined an early breakaway and did his best to match some of the best riders in the world. But in the end, it was the big boys from UAE Team Emirates-XRG - the team of the great Tadej Pogacar - who swept the podium. Igor Arrieta claimed the win in three hours, 50 minutes and 23 seconds after pipping Giro d'Italia runner up Isaac del Toro to the line. Antonio Morgado (+16s) completed the podium. Mathias Bregnhoj was the highest placed TSG rider, crossing the line 34th (+1:18s) ahead of Vadim Pronskiy (44th, +2:18s), De Bod (59th, +4:45s) and Kee Zhe Yie (91st, +14:34s). Nur Aiman Rosli and Nur Aiman Zariff did not finish while Anatolii Budiak did not start due to a fever. De Bod, who is in his first season with TSG, was pleased with his performance. "It was a good day, we tried something a little bit different and took a chance," said de Bod. "When racing against the big teams it is difficult to get the results you want, so you have to think proactively. "I decided to go in the break during the first climb when I saw the opportunity. "Unfortunately, it did not go closer to the line. But still, I did my best and showed (highlighted) the (TSG) jersey for the team and won a small prize for the Most Combative Rider." The race featured five category-three climbs which left riders with little room for respite. TSG, who competed at the Terres de L´Ebre Classic earlier this week, will next compete at the Circuito de Getxo-Memorial Hermanos Otxoa race (172.2km) on Aug 3.

Soccer-Spain ready to solve England puzzle in Euro final, says Putellas
Soccer Football - Women's Euro 2025 Qualifier - Spain v Denmark - Estadio Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez, Tenerife, Spain - June 4, 2024 Spain's Alexia Putellas during the warm up before the match REUTERS/Borja Suarez/ File Photo LAUSANNE, Switzerland (Reuters) -Spain are remaining tight-lipped about what they expect from England in Sunday's Euro 2025 final in Basel, but midfielder Alexia Putellas says her side are ready for whatever Sarina Wiegman and her squad come up with. "England is a team that can come up with many things -- they can be in a low block and move forward, or they can be a team that wants to do both things, (but) we are a team with a lot of resources," Putellas told reporters at the Spanish team's base in Lausanne on Thursday. "If they decide to be in the low block and move forward, we have been able to play (in the past) and score goals. We are well-balanced so that they do not move forward ... it's hard to get the ball off us, we are ready for anything." The showdown pits title holders England, who have flirted with elimination en route to the final, against world and Nations League champions Spain, who have started their games in Switzerland slowly before growing into them and taking over. Putellas said that her side would not be taking anything for granted. "I try not to think about what has happened, what we have done or what we haven't done. In the end, these are unique moments that we have to live and that we are very excited about," she said. The game is also a rematch of the 2023 World Cup final that Spain won 1-0, and the two sides have also met in the Nations League earlier this year, with England winning 1-0 in February and Spain grabbing a 2-1 victory in June. "We are very excited, very ambitious, excited to continue growing, to continue making history and I think that gives us a lot of energy, we get a lot of energy to achieve our goal," Putellas said.
