Springboks and Georgia tickets still available

The Citizen6 days ago
With only four days left until the Castle Lager Incoming Series test between the Springboks and Georgia, tickets are still on sale, starting at R150.
Ticket sales have been good for the Georgia test, having crossed the 72% mark on Monday. Kick-off is at 17:10 on July 19, which will give test-goers the chance to experience one of Mbombela Stadium's signature sunsets, which is always stunning from inside the venue.
Tickets are only available online at www.ticketmaster.co.za, and are not being sold at the Stadium itself. Ticketmaster is the only accredited seller of the tickets for this test.
The fixture will be utilising an improved park-and-ride transport system again this year, which will make use of nine pick-up points. The Government Complex and Valley Hyper are the only non-school-based pick-up points this year.

In Mbombela there are six pick-up points at schools: Curro Mbombela, Hoërskool Nelspruit, Laerskool Nelspruit, Hoërskool Bergvlam and Nelspruit Primary, Lowveld High School, and Laerskool Laeveld. In White River there will be a pick-up point at White River Primary School and Rob Ferreira High School.
At all of the school-based pick-up points it will cost R100 to park your vehicle there while you make use of the park-and-ride to and from the stadium. The buses will start running to the stadium at 12:00 and the last buses will depart from the stadium between 21:00 and 21:30 after the match. Buses will depart once full otherwise every 15 to 30 minutes.
Other than the parking fee at schools the park-and-ride service is free for all match ticket holders. All the buses follow a circular route to drop off at all points, you will need to make sure you disembark at the correct one. When leaving the stadium ensure that you get on the bus at the same gate you were dropped off at before the game.
The Bokke are in fine form, taking on the Georgians off the back of two victories over Italy in the Castle Lager Incoming Series so far. Georgia meanwhile will be hell-bent on revenge, having suffered a tough loss at the hands of the Toyota Cheetahs last weekend.

Sacha on missed kicks: 'Off target, not off track'

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has reacted to criticism of his performance in the Springboks game against Georgia at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, 19 July. The flyhalf came under fire after missing a series of crucial penalty kicks. Last year, Sacha was inducted into the national rugby team and has made nine test match appearances. In an Instagram post, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu directly responded to criticism of his missed penalty kicks. Posting a series of pics from Saturday's game, he shared: 'Off target — Not off track. Great experience out in Nelspruit! Thank you, South Africa.' On social media, rugby fans claimed that Sacha had gotten off lightly as compared to fellow flyhalf Manie Libbok, who has often been criticised over his performances. Meanwhile, Rassie Erasmus has conceded that while Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu 'made the most errors', he was 'pleased' with his performance. In a post-match briefing, the Springbok coach said: 'Sacha is not necessarily the first choice. Number ten, we have Manie, who is pretty much on song, and we saw with Handre when he came on that he is pretty solid. 'You can't just look at his goal kicking. He struggled before doing pretty well, but in the warm-up he got a hip pointer injury and we weren't quite sure if we should push him through the game. But he wanted to play, but that's not an excuse for the way he kicked at poles. Rassie added: 'We are pleased overall, it's his second start for us this year and he is younger than the other fly-halves.' ‘Incredibly special journey,' says coach Foote after U20 Championship triumph

The Junior Boks beat New Zealand in the final in Italy on Saturday night. The South African U20 rugby team hold the winner's trophy aloft after beating New Zealand in the World Rugby U20 Championship final in Rovigo on Saturday. Picture:Riley Norton and his all-conquering Junior Springboks will arrive back in South Africa mid-morning Monday as their country's newest heroes. The Junior Boks won their first world title in 13 years when they defeated their New Zealand counterparts at the World Rugby U20 Championship in Rovigo, Italy on Saturday evening. The win came just hours after the Springboks, currently two-time world champions, ended their midyear Test campaign with a comfortable victory against Georgia in Mbombela. They're next in action against Australia in the Rugby Championship. The Junior Boks, who beat Australia, England and Scotland in pool play in Italy and Argentina in the semi-finals, edged their biggest rivals 23-15 in the final. 'Gees won it for us' Coach Kevin Foote said his players' grit and spirt helped them get across the line. 'Defence is all about character, and there were moments when New Zealand were right on our line, but we held firm,' said Foote after the final. 'From a coach's perspective, you can't ask for more than that. It was a real South African defensive effort and gees (spirit) that won it for us.' Foote, who took over as Junior Boks head coach at the end of last year, also described his winning squad as a special group of young players. 'I love our country and the Springboks, and I love working with this age group,' he said. 'Win for everyone back home' 'To see these young men grow from training in December to what they've achieved now is amazing. Being on this journey with them has been incredibly special, and I'll never take it for granted.' Captain Norton, who led from the front, said: 'The ball was so slippery, and your fundamentals had to be spot on in these conditions, which was tough. There were a few handling errors due to the incredible humidity, and our jerseys were absolutely drenched in sweat, but I think we handled the conditions well. This win is for everyone who supported us back home.' The Junior Boks captain also credited their intense training in Stellenbosch for helping them adapt to the Italian summer heat. 'We actually adapted very well to the local conditions, even though it was winter when we left Stellenbosch,' said Norton. 'That's thanks to our conditioning and the fact that we're used to training in similar summer weather back home.'
