Man Utd receive two loan offers for Antony with Premier League rival interested

Manchester United have received two approaches from Benfica over a loan deal for Antony, according to reports in Portugal.
The Brazilian winger thrived during his loan spell with Real Betis in the second half of last season but the Spanish club have been unable to reach an agreement with United over a new deal.
United are looking to sell Antony, who was signed in a £82 million deal from Ajax in 2022, and are hoping that a club can secure a permanent move for the 25-year-old before the end of the transfer window.
According to CNN Portugal, Benfica have contacted United on two occasions 'in recent days' to discuss a loan deal for Antony.
The report claims that United are holding out for a €50m (£43.3m) transfer fee for the winger, while Benfica face competition as Brighton, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig are also interested.

Antony is currently training separately from Ruben Amorim's squad and was not included in their pre-season tour of the United States.
Antony scored nine goals during his loan spell with Real Betis and made it clear at the end of the season that staying with the Spanish club is his preference.
The winger also praised Betis' head coach, Manuel Pellegrini, for helping him rediscover his form. More Trending
'From the first conversation I had with him, he gave me incredible confidence, he made me feel very comfortable,' Antony told TNT Sports Brazil.
'And when I got here, the conversation we had was very positive. He told me: 'I know your potential, you didn't join the national team for nothing, you didn't play in a World Cup for nothing, you know what a player you are, you've been through difficult times and you have your responsibilities, you have your part of the blame too'. But he made me feel very comfortable.
'He always gave me a lot of confidence and he always told me: 'I don't want you to make 20 plays, I want you to make five, six with the aim of scoring, an assist, that will already help me a lot.
'I took all that advice and Pellegrini is a coach that I'm very grateful to.'

‘Clubs won't expect it' – Luke Littler gives his prediction for Man Utd's season

United are keen for the recently-crowned World Matchplay champion to visit Old Trafford to show off his latest trophy success. RED DEVILS REVIVAL 'Clubs won't expect it' – Luke Littler gives his prediction for Man Utd's season LUKE LITTLER is 'excited' about Manchester United's prospects this year – and reckons 'most clubs' will be surprised by their revival under boss Ruben Amorim. United embarrassingly finished 15th in last season's Premier League, losing 18 league matches as morale hit rock bottom. It was their worst campaign since they were relegated from the top flight in 1974 and Portuguese chief Amorim, 40, is under pressure to deliver this term. It has not been easy being a fan of the club and Littler, one of their most high-profile supporters, had to put up with a lot of abuse, especially on social media, from those from rival teams. Yet performances in the recent Summer Series in the US have given him cause for great optimism. Striker Sesko, 22, has arrived from RB Leipzig and is an exciting young talent who could take the Prem by storm and perhaps solve their scoring issues. Littler, 18, said: 'I'm very excited. I think we are underdogs. 'Obviously from last season, I don't think anything worse can happen – unless we finish 16th. Advertisement 'But yeah, I think it is going to be a very interesting season. Most clubs won't expect it but I'm expecting top five.' It is going to be a very interesting season. Most clubs won't expect it but I'm expecting top five. Luke Littler on Manchester United's new Premier League campaign Following his latest triumph, secured at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, club insiders would welcome him doing the same again with this pot of silverware. Though Littler was not even born when United completed the historic Treble in 1999, they see the similarities with his latest achievement. 6 Luke Littler showed off the Sid Waddell Trophy at Old Trafford in January 2025 Credit: Getty Advertisement 6 Ruben Amorim will be determined to avoid a repeat of last year's terrible Premier League campaign Credit: Getty No official conversation has been had yet between the two parties but Littler has close links to the management. New £20m West Ham signing outlines two major targets after transfer unveiling

Mads Hermansen has arrived at West Ham in a £20million move after being one of the few Leicester City players to emerge with any credit from last season's Premier League nightmare, and he has two major targets in his sights New West Ham signing Mads Hermansen has set his sights on becoming Graham Potter's first-choice keeper and dethroning Kasper Schmeichel as Denmark's No.1. ‌ The £20million arrival from Leicester City was unveiled to Hammers fans before Saturday's pre-season draw with Lille, watching from the stands as Alphonse Areola saved two penalties in the post-match shoot-out. Hermansen, 25, knows playing in the Premier League and reuniting with West Ham goalkeeping coach Casper Ankergren, a fellow Dane he worked with at Brondby, can raise his international profile ahead of next summer's World Cup in America. ‌ Schmeichel, 38, is still first choice for Celtic and despite recent criticism and has no plans to stop playing international football, meaning Hermansen faces a fierce battle to take the shirt. The new Hammers stopper has represented his country at every age group since under 16 level and is determined to make the final step. ‌ Hermansen said. 'To represent Denmark. would be one of the biggest accomplishments of my career. So that's of course also a plus in going to West Ham and taking that step in my career that I can push for the spot in the national team. 'I felt a long time ago that West Ham and me could be a good match. I can definitely see myself playing in the way the team wants to. West Ham was a pretty easy choice. 'I've found a way to always progress and always develop and take all the right steps at the right time. First of all, I love to keep the ball out of the net and I think I'm quite good at creating relationships with the defenders, so we always have good communication. 'I worked a few years with [Ankergren] in Brondby and I can't wait to meet all the other keepers.'
