A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after his bike was involved in a crash with a car in Underwood.Emergency services were called to Alfreton Road shortly before 20:00 BST on Sunday.The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital, Nottinghamshire Police said.The road was closed and expected to remain shut throughout the night, the force added.
Det Con Andrew Fawcett said: "This was a very serious incident and we are working hard to establish exactly what happened in the moments leading up to this collision."

A man in his 30s has died after a crash between a van and a services were called to the A47 in East Winch, Norfolk, at 13:50 BST on Wednesday after the white Vauxhall Movano van and orange DAF truck driver of the van was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn and transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Police this morning confirmed the man had died and it renewed appeals for witnesses to come forward.
