Notre Dame baseball trounces Link Jarrett and Florida State in the series opening game
The Irish trailed 4-2 entering the bottom of the sixth, then erupted for 5-runs to take a lead they would never relinquish. Notre Dame's offense didn't let up, as they scored another run in the seventh, and capped off the huge win with a big 8-run eighth inning.

Offensively, it was catcher Carson Tinney leading the way, going 2-for-3 with a homer, 4 RBI and two walks. He wasn't the only one making their mark with big blasts as Jared Zimbardo, Estevan Moreno, Brady Gumpf, Nick DeMarco, Jayce Lee and DM Jefferson all went yard as well.
While it wasn't the best pitching performance for the Irish, starter Jack Radel held the Seminole offense in check allowing 4 runs in 5.2 innings, striking out five. Rickey Reeth came in relief and got knocked around a bit to 4 runs in 2 innings, but Chase Van Ameyde shut the door with just one run allowed in 1.1 innings. He struck out the side in the top of the ninth to secure the win.
The victory puts Notre Dame's season record at 14-9, 2-8 in ACC play. It was clearly a much needed win as the Irish get back on the diamond to conclude the series on Saturday with a double-header, as Sunday's game was moved to tomorrow due to weather concerns.

First it was defensive end Bryce Young, who during his freshman season flashed multiple times, most notably on special teams where he blocked three kicks. The legacy checked in at No. 44, as Bruce Feldman wrote that despite adding 'almost 30 pounds since arriving last year, but still managed to vertical jump 35 1/2 inches and broad jump 9-5. He benched 335 pounds and cleaned 355.' Young has the look of a second-year breakout player, and many, including myself believe that is the case. The second Irish player to make the list was tight end Eli Raridon at No. 85. While he hasn't been healthy enough to stay on the field for extended periods, the junior is a physical specimen. Feldman says that Raridon 'displayed plenty of explosiveness this offseason, vertical jumping 34 inches and broad jumping 9-10. He's also quite strong, benching 350 pounds, power cleaning 335 and squatting 535.' While offensive tackle Anthonie Knapp didn't make the list, Feldman still mentioned that he 'made a compelling case for a spot.' With a 30 inch vertical and benching 425 pounds, it looks like the 6-foot, 5-inch and 300-pound tackle just barely missed the cut. Charles Jagusah continues to help his Notre Dame teammates even though he's injured
Charles Jagusah can't practice as he recovers from the injury he suffered in a UTV accident last month, but he's been a valuable resource for fellow Notre Dame offensive linemen in camp."He is always engaged. He's always locked just the type of person that he is." It was an unfortunate accident that Notre Dame football projected starting offensive lineman Charles Jagusah had before fall camp started, but as we have seen in the past, that hasn't stopped an injured Irish player from continuing to help his teammates. In a clip shared on Sunday by Tyler Horka, you can see that Jagusah is coaching up his teammates, recording their reps to help the with their technique. It shows that he clearly misses being out there preparing for the season, but also that he's a team player. Jagusah could have been working with the training staff away from his position group, but instead chose to be right by their sides and giving instruction. There is some possibility that he's preparing himself for a career after football as well, as it very much looks like he was enjoying himself in a coaching role. Kudos to Jagusah for still being in the mix of practice even though he can't participate himself. NFL (and in turn PFT Live) will continue to be televised by Sky Sports
After months of uncertainty, NFL fans in the UK and Ireland can relax. And celebrate. Per multiple reports, the NFL and Sky Sports have struck a deal to continue pro football programming on the British/Irish equivalent of ESPN. That includes PFT Live, since PFT Live includes NFL highlights. It's a multi-year deal. Which means it will be multiple years before a string of short-term Band-Aid extensions like those done by the NFL and Sky in the months preceding August. The development also means that the flow of emails — literally in the hundreds — from PFT Live viewers on Sky regarding the status of the NFL-Sky relationship will cease. After, of course, one last wave from folks who will be letting us know that the deal is done. We've been a staple of Sky Sports programming for more than five years. And we plan to make an offseason trip to the UK and Ireland for a series of meet-and-greets and/or drinky-and-smoky sessions with our friends from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. One reason I haven't visited is simple. I've got a feeling that, after spending some time in London and/or Dublin and/or Manchester and/or Hove and/or Edinburgh and/or Wolverhampton and/or Milton Keynes, I won't want to come home.
