Silver Heels Are Summer's Modern Take On Neutral Footwear

Silver Heels Are Summer's Modern Take On Neutral Footwear

Elle22-05-2025
If there's one shoe trend I'm seeing everywhere—in market appointments and on the streets—it's silver heels. Whether in the form of a mirrored patent leather platform or something a touch more understated, this is one category of footwear that not only feels classic and timeless but head-turning, too.
Sure, a classic black pump is a wardrobe staple in anyone's closet, but for those moments when you need a little extra something, I'd recommend reaching for a shiny silver option instead. They're just the thing to dress up an outfit, whether it's a simple T-shirt effortlessly paired with jeans or...if you're feeling up for it, your courthouse wedding dress.
As someone who's been on the hunt for the perfect pair to add to her own rotation, I've stumbled upon far too many to keep from you. So, without further ado, the best silver heels to accompany your summer looks ahead.
Our team can't get enough from Tony Bianco, thanks to its comfortable fit and affordable price point. This strappy silver sandal is bound to be a go-to staple in your closet for years.

No doubt, this is a simple silhouette, but when you look at the details—like that pyramidal heel or the crystal straps, you have yourself a head-turning shoe that will keep the eyes on you.

In any other color, this heel might feel a little prim—maybe learning towards grandmacore. And while I firmly believe there's a time and a place, this option in a silver colorway feels a little more edgy. I love the idea of wearing these with a pair of straight-leg jeans.
Sizes: 6-10
Colors: Black Mesh, Silver, Saddle, French Vanilla Mesh
Material: Textile upper, synthetic lining
And while we're on the topic of mesh heels, I present you with a super pretty option from Reike Nen, which features a cool lucite heel and a lace floral.

In the mood for the ultimate fashion girl pick? Look to these netted Alaïa heels. They'll look just as good with a knee-length skirt as they would with a pair of Bermuda shorts.

The Best Showgirl-Inspired Movies to Watch Before Taylor Swift's New Album Drops

Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. Although the popularity of live showgirls has waned through the years, their iconic presence still looms large in our collective imagination. So, it's no surprise that Taylor Swift has tapped into their glamorous imagery and rich history with her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, which is due October 3. Fans will naturally want to immerse themselves not only in Swift's music, but also in her muse(s). Luckily, many other artists have been inspired by the ostentatious productions of Las Vegas, Broadway's Ziegfeld Follies, vaudeville, burlesque, and every other iteration of the showgirl, and there are many films out there dedicated to the art. Under the glitz, feathers, and coordinated ensembles, each individual showgirl has her own story to tell—just like Swift herself. As she recently explained on Travis Kelce's podcast, 'This album isn't really about what happened to me on stage [during the Eras Tour]. It's about what I was going through offstage.' Below are some of the best movies about the inner life of the showgirl (and other similar performers), and who she is both on stage and off. Scroll through for inspiration on how to shine in the spotlight, no matter what's happening in the wings. This campy dramatic thriller stars Elizabeth Berkley, Kyle MacLachlan, and Gina Gershon. It focuses on a young woman named Nomi Malone who hitches a ride to las Vegas to find fame as a dancer. The film's original NC-17 rating did not stop it from being frequently aired on cable with certain key moments censored for impressionable audiences. However, the movie does contain some extreme sexual violence in addition to graphic nudity, so approach with care. Watch Now on Hulu Set in Las Vegas, Pamela Anderson plays a showgirl who has to make some hard life decisions after her show of 30 years abruptly closes. The film, directed by Gia Coppola, co-stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Kiernan Shipka, Billie Lourd, and Brenda Song. Based on a wildly popular Broadway play, this classic film follows four actresses in a show beset with issues and bankrolled by a secret millionaire. The movie was produced in the heyday of the showgirl era, which coincided with the Great Depression, showing a pretty accurate portrayal of how people escaped their grim reality with spectacle. Watch Now on Prime Video Christina Aguilera should be enough of a draw in this classic story of a small town girl with big dreams, showing the world what she's got. (Of course, Cher and Stanley Tucci are wonderful additions too.) Tune in for the songs, stay for the cast chemistry. Watch Now on Apple TV+ American chorus girl Elsie Marina, played by Marilyn Monroe, catches the eye of a foreign prince while prancing on stage. Their encounter naturally leads to issues for them both, but with a surprisingly romantic conclusion. Set in Paris, this romantic and melodramatic musical stars Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor as two star-crossed lovers who inevitably come to a tragic end. But watching Kidman soar across the stage as the doomed Sabine is worth the ride. Again set in and produced during the Great Depression, 42nd Street follows a group of people trying to get a show up on its feet. While highlighting the challenges of producing such a collaborative work, the movie ends with a celebration of the showgirl over the rest of the team. Most people remember White Christmas as a holiday film about putting on a last minute show to save a very special resort in the post-WWII era. But before that happens, Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye meet Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen playing two sisters who make a living on stage. The movie's musical sequences will always be memorable, but the Haynes Sisters' act might be one of the biggest highlights. The Muppets have done a lot in their many decades on screen, but if there's one thing the merry puppets love to comment on, it's show business. The Great Muppet Caper is a comedic crime thriller, but the film contains a long and loving musical sequence honoring showgirls, starring none other than Miss Piggy herself. Watch Now on Disney+ You might consider Sister Act to be a fish-out-of water story about a woman hiding amongst a bunch of nuns and putting them on the map with musical numbers. What many forget is that Whoopi Goldberg starts her turn in the movie as a showgirl who gets sucked into mafia business and then witness protection. In a way, she makes the rest of her nun friends into showgirls, too. And the Lord approves. While she's not wearing traditional showgirl attire, Marilyn Monroe's turn as a gleeful gold digger singing 'Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend' remains an iconic entry into the oeuvre. The entire film is a delight and offers plenty of other stunning musical numbers. Gypsy Rose Lee is not exactly a showgirl—she dabbles more in the art of burlesque—but her story is arresting. The famous Stephen Sondheim musical was adapted for film and starred Natalie Wood as the child vaudeville star forced into the spotlight by her show monster mother (played by Rosalind Russell). The costumes are stunning, the music is catchy, and Wood is timelessly charming.

Inside Megan Thee Stallion's Dating History

Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. THE RUNDOWN When Megan Thee Stallion's music career started to take off, interest in her love life also intensified. Since her early days as a promising new rapper to winning three Grammy Awards, including the coveted Best New Artist trophy, fans have wanted to know who the rapper is dating. Here's what you need to know about Megan's dating history, from her new relationship with NBA star Klay Thompson to everyone she's dated in the past. Having collaborated on two songs—2018's 'Make a Bag' and 2019's 'All Dat'—Megan Thee Stallion and Moneybagg Yo began a romantic relationship. Megan went Instagram official with Moneybagg Yo in July 2019, posting a loved-up photo with her new boyfriend. However, by January 2020, the romance had ended, and Moneybagg confirmed the split during an appearance on Rap Life Radio. 'It didn't work [out] but I always wish her the best,' the rapper explained, according to The U.S. Sun. 'I'm really proud of her.' He continued, 'The Megan y'all know and the Megan I know are two different things. It's still love, no bad blood.' Having already engaged in a flirty online exchange with Trey Songz in March 2019, fans wondered if the pair might get together when The Shade Room shared footage of Megan with the rapper on Instagram in November 2019. However, Megan was quick to shut down the rumors on X, while confirming she'd only publicly dated Moneybagg Yo at that point, writing, 'Why y'all want me to be a 'hoe' so bad ? Lol I've only dated ONE person y'all know about all that other shit is RUMORS/LIES.' Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August 2023 after being found guilty of felony assault for shooting Megan's foot while leaving a party hosted by Kylie Jenner in July 2020, NPR reported. While it was initially believed that the two rappers were just friends, Megan revealed she had sex with Lanez 'once, maybe twice on a drunk night,' in her 2024 Prime Video documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words. 'As I reflect on the past three years, I view myself as a survivor, because I have truly survived the unimaginable,' Megan told ELLE following Lanez's sentencing in 2023. 'Not only did I survive being shot by someone I trusted and considered a close friend, but I overcame the public humiliation of having my name and reputation dragged through the mud by that individual for the entire world to see.' Collaboration brought Megan and rapper Pardison 'Pardi' Fontaine together. In 2020, the pair worked together on the 'Savage' remix with Beyoncé, and on Megan's hit duet with Cardi B, 'WAP,' per HotNewHipHop. Megan confirmed her relationship with rapper Pardi in February 2021, saying on Instagram Live (via Entertainment Tonight), 'That's my boo, and I really like him...I never said hot girls can't have boyfriends.' She also described her partner as 'so calm and so sweet and very protective.' Throughout 2021, Pardi and Megan were regular fixtures on one another's social media accounts. In April 2021, Megan wrote on X, 'Pardi really showed me what it's like to respect your partner...i used to be talking to people CRAZYYYY.' The following month, the 'Hot Girl Summer' rapper revealed just how much her relationship meant to her, writing on X, 'My boyfriend let's me be me [because] he confident I ain't going no where...I like that.' In May 2021, the two rappers made their red carpet debut at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, per People. In an exclusive interview with radio show 97.9 The Box in June 2021, Megan sang her boyfriend's praises, saying, 'I love Pardi because he is just so sweet. A lot of guys are scared to show their sweet side and Pardi is not that. He's very romantic and protective and he just makes me feel really protected. I love spending time with him because he makes me feel really secure.' Pardi defended Megan after she was shot and faced backlash during Lanez's trial. 'When you do find the courage to speak up it seems you will be ridiculed,' Pardi wrote on Instagram in December 2022 (via Complex). 'Your credibility will be questioned, your entire past will be held under a magnifying glass. In an instant you can go from victim to defendant in the eyes of the public. To anyone with a sister, mother, niece or aunt, I pray for their protection. I pray for their covering. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.' It's unclear when Megan and Pardi broke up. It was reported in February 2023 that Megan had unfollowed Pardi on Instagram. Subsequently, a poem shared by Pardi in May 2023 caused fans to speculate the relationship had ended. It was also suggested that Megan's song 'Cobra,' released in November 2023, referenced alleged infidelity by her ex, Complex reported. Soon after breakup rumors started regarding Megan's relationship with Pardi, the 'Cry Baby' rapper was photographed attending a wedding alongside Belgian soccer player Romelu Lukaku, according to The Daily Mail. The pair were spotted at the wedding of fellow soccer star Lautaro Martínez to model Agustina Gandolfo in Lake Como, Italy. The outlet reported that, at the time, both Megan and Lukaku were managed by Roc Nation, suggesting they likely crossed paths as a result. Aside from their one Lake Como date, however, little is known about whether Megan and Lukaku entered into a serious relationship. Megan Thee Stallion's romance with NBA player Torrey Craig was revealed in August 2024 when the rapper shared a TikTok video of them completing the 'couples challenge' together. They even answered a question regarding who said 'I love you' first in the since-deleted footage. The following month, Megan and Craig were photographed together for the first time when they stepped out during New York Fashion Week. January 2025 saw a mirror selfie of Megan and Craig go viral, along with a sweet snap the NBA star shared of his girlfriend on Instagram. The same month, cheating allegations began spreading, with Craig denying he'd been unfaithful, according to Sports Illustrated. TMZ reported that the pair split sometime in April 2025. Relationship rumors started circulating on July 9, 2025, when Megan shared Instagram photos of herself posing by a pool, with Dallas Mavericks player Klay Thompson lounging in the background. Days later, Megan appeared in one of Thompson's social media posts, their PDA seemingly confirming they were more than friends. The same week, TMZ reported that Megan and Thompson were officially dating. Megan hard-launched her relationship with Thompson on July 16, 2025, when the pair attended the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala together in New York City. Speaking to Page Six at the event, Megan revealed, 'I have never dated somebody so kind. This is my first relationship where I've ever been with somebody who's genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy.' She continued, 'I just never dated somebody like him before, and I'm just grateful that he's here by my side, and he feels the same way about me.'

Ana de Armas's Dating History, From Early Roles to Hollywood Fame

Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. THE RUNDOWN Ana de Armas has experienced a stratospheric rise in Hollywood over the past decade. 2015's Knock Knock—a thriller movie starring Keanu Reeves—provided the Cuban, American, and Spanish actress with her stateside breakout role. Since then, de Armas has appeared in numerous box office and critical hits, such as 2017's Blade Runner 2049, 2019's Knives Out, 2021's No Time to Die, and 2022's Blonde, in which she portrayed Marilyn Monroe. Following the release of 2025's John Wick spin-off Ballerina, de Armas has found herself in the spotlight once again—this time for her seemingly budding romance with Tom Cruise. Here's what you need to know about Ana de Armas's dating history. Prior to making it big as a Hollywood actress, de Armas relocated from Havana to Spain where she met her first husband, Marc Clotet. The Ghosted star began dating the Spanish model and actor in 2010, with the pair marrying the following year in July 2011, Hola! magazine reported. Unfortunately, the couple's marriage didn't last. During an appearance at the 27th Goya Awards in Spain on Feb. 17, 2013, Clotet revealed, 'Yes, we've broken up. It was by mutual agreement. I'm calm.' According to Diez Minutos, Clotet also shared that he and de Armas were 'still friends' despite the split. According to La Razón, de Armas started dating Spanish screenwriter and director David Victori in August 2013. The publication also noted that the couple lived together in Los Angeles, but had returned to Spain in March 2014 for the Málaga Film Festival. Although it's unclear when Victori and de Armas ended their relationship, it's been reported that they split sometime in 2014. Following her breakups from Clotet and Victori, de Armas decided to move to Los Angeles full-time to further her career, telling The Hollywood Reporter, 'I don't like feeling stuck, like I'm not going anywhere. I wanted more.' After permanently relocating to America, de Armas began 'a serious relationship with agent Franklin Latt,' Vanity Fair reported. During her interview with the publication, the War Dogs actress was quick to dispel the idea that dating a successful Hollywood agent—Latt now manages Pedro Pascal at Creative Artists Agency—aided her career in any way. 'For anyone who ever did I get to do this or that, fuck them,' she said. 'They will not get to spend their New Year's with me. They are not the people whose opinion I should care about. They are not the people I share my happiness with.' According to The Daily Mail, Latt and de Armas started dating in 2015 following the release of the movie Knock Knock. The outlet reported that the pair got 'engaged soon after, off the wedding' and broke up in 2016. In 2017, de Armas started dating artist Alejandro Piñeiro Bello, who was also born in Havana. During their relationship, the pair regularly posted photos of one another on social media, which have since been deleted from their respective accounts. In February 2018, de Armas marked the launch of Piñeiro Bello's pop-up exhibition in Los Angeles by writing on Instagram, 'So proud of you,' and he returned the favor, thanking the actress for all of her 'hard work and love,' according to Antena 3. Porter later confirmed that de Armas had split from Piñeiro Bello in 2019 after two years of dating. After meeting on the set of thriller Deep Water in late 2019, de Armas started a very public relationship with Ben Affleck. In March 2020, a source told People that the pair had 'great chemistry right from the start,' but 'there were no signs of romance' until filming had wrapped. In a March 2020 interview with Vogue Spain (translated by People), de Armas discussed working with the Oscar winner, saying, 'His talent is infinite.' The same month, de Armas made her relationship with Affleck official when she shared photos of him on Instagram. Affleck and de Armas were regularly photographed walking their dogs together in Los Angeles, where the couple quarantined together during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. At the time, a source told Us Weekly, 'Ana is very happy with Ben. She loves spending time with him and they have great chemistry and a lot of fun together.' The two Hollywood stars quickly became inseparable. In June 2020, de Armas and Affleck attended a Black Lives Matter march together, per People. Following a double date with Affleck's best friend, Matt Damon, and his wife, People reported that de Armas officially moved into her boyfriend's property in August 2020. 'She's aware that his family comes first,' a source told the outlet. 'And appreciates that. They work very hard at that balance.' For Affleck's 48th birthday, the Overdrive actress gifted her beau a custom-built BMW motorcycle, according to People. In November 2020, the pair traveled to New Orleans for re-shoots of their movie, Deep Water. As de Armas appeared to be wearing a diamond ring in photos from the set, rumors started to swirl regarding a possible engagement. However, according to People, the jewelry item was simply a prop for the film. The very same month, de Armas and Affleck spent their first Thanksgiving together, along with the actor's three children—Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel—whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, E! News reported. Unfortunately, by January 2021, de Armas and Affleck had called it quits. 'Ben is no longer dating Ana,' a source told People. 'She broke it off. Their relationship was complicated. Ana doesn't want to be Los Angeles based and Ben obviously has to since his kids live in Los Angeles.' While People reported that the break up occurred 'over the phone,' Page Six suggested the relationship ended as Affleck 'would not commit to having more kids.' Soon after the split, Affleck reconnected with his ex, Jennifer Lopez. Following her split from Affleck, Page Six confirmed de Armas was dating Tinder executive Paul Boukadakis in June 2021. Sources told the outlet that Boukadakis had already introduced the actress to his family after several months of dating. In December 2021, an insider told E! News that the couple's romance was 'very serious.' A July 2022 profile of de Armas in ELLE revealed that she met her new boyfriend 'during the pandemic through a mutual friend.' With the majority of bars and restaurants closed during lockdown, they 'spent their first dates at each other's homes, drinking wine and talking.' As for how she spent her 34th birthday in April 2022, de Armas told ELLE that she celebrated with 'my man, my dogs, Chris [Evans] and the crew [of Ghosted].' She continued, 'I wasn't home having a romantic dinner; I was on set with my people doing what I love and at the beach and having a shot of it is the happiest I've been.' The pair were pictured arriving at Venice Film Festival in September 2022, and they posed for photos on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on March 12, 2023. While it's unclear when de Armas and Boukadakis ended their romance, People reported the split in November 2024, when the actress was spotted kissing another man. The Exposed star surprised fans when she started dating Manuel Anido Cuesta, the stepson of Cuba's president, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. Having graduated with a law degree from the University of Havana in 2019, Anido Cuesta reportedly 'became part of the Cuban regime's inner circle,' La Nación reported. The outlet further explained, 'Although he does not hold official positions in government institutions, he has been seen at numerous events and on official trips accompanying his stepfather and mother.' Rumors began circulating about a potential romance between de Armas and Anido Cuesta in May 2024, when a Cuban influencer claimed the pair had spent 10 days together on the island of Cayo Santa María, off the north coast of Cuba, per Periódico Cubano. While the majority of de Armas's romance with Anido Cuesta remained private, Hola! published photographs of the pair kissing one another during a night out in Madrid in November 2024. Throughout their romance, de Armas faced backlash for dating Anido Cuesta, with whom she was last seen in February 2025. Although it's unclear when the couple split, a source told Us Weekly in May 2025 that de Armas and Anido Cuesta were no longer dating. According to Us Weekly, Mission: Impossible icon Tom Cruise first met de Armas in February 2025 to discuss the possibility of working together. An insider told the outlet that Cruise was instantly 'super smitten' with the actress. 'It's low-key, still new and in the early stages,' they explained. 'Their romance is definitely on the down-low.' The source also suggested that, while Cruise was most definitely 'courting' de Armas, the actress was 'more cautious.' 'She isn't looking for anything to move too fast, she's taking it really slow,' they told the outlet. While promoting her John Wick spin-off Ballerina in June 2025, de Armas commented on her connection with Cruise, telling Variety, 'We're working together, so he got to see Ballerina and he actually really liked it.' She continued, 'It is very special that someone like him is supporting [Ballerina].' In mid-July 2025, a source downplayed the romance rumors, telling People that de Armas and Cruise simply had 'a special work relationship.' According to the insider, the pair had been spending extended periods of time together while preparing to costar in forthcoming thriller Deeper, from the director of 2005's Mr. & Mrs Smith, Doug Liman. 'Tom is an incredible mentor to Ana,' the source alleged. 'She has nothing but amazing things to say about him.' The end of July brought two eyebrow-raising outings for de Armas and Cruise. On July 26, the pair made an unexpected cameo at an Oasis concert in London, appearing in the background of an Instagram video shared by music producer Goldie. The following day, de Armas and Cruise materialized in Vermont, where they were photographed holding hands, eating ice cream, and shopping together.
