Klopp's incredible £84k gesture as ex-Liverpool boss slams 'bulls***' claim
Ex-Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has returned as the Reds prepare to lift the Premier League trophy for the second time with a heart-warming move from the German having been confirmed
Jurgen Klopp donated an incredible £84,000 to Liverpool to mark his return to the club. The former boss has returned to Merseyside this weekend ahead of the Reds' Premier League title celebrations.
Liverpool will lift the trophy this weekend after their final match of the season against FA Cup winners Crystal Palace. Klopp had promised to be in attendance but has also had a number of other duties to fulfil over the past few days.
Klopp also attended the LFC Foundation's Gala Ball at Liverpool Cathedral on Friday having been named an ambassador of the charity. And Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan announced that the former boss donated a huge €100,000 (£84k) to help the charity's work in the community.
Attention will now turn to Liverpool's celebrations, with Klopp determined to make the most of it. Speaking in a video shared on the club's social media channels, he said: 'Hello. So now I'm back, back in Liverpool.
'Back here in the wonderful cathedral for the Liverpool Foundation. Finally. Too me a year to find a way back. But, now I'm here. What a weekend ahead. Wow.
'I heard the city will be buzzing. I'm pretty sure it will be and I see it from a different perspective. From a very good perspective. From your perspective. I told you on my last day from now on, I will be one of you.
'Yeah, okay, maybe standing in a black suit is maybe not the best example but at the weekend, I'll try to be in as much as you let me. I'll try to be part of it as much as you let me. So congratulations for last season.
'Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. I enjoyed it so much. Congratulations to the team. Congratulations to Arne especially. What a guy and what a coach and let's have the best weekend of our lives so far because there are loads of great weekends will follow with this wonderful team and this great club. All the best.'
Klopp's donation comes amid questions over his future. He has been linked with a move to Italian side Roma to replace the outgoing Claudio Ranieri.
But speaking at the LFC Foundation gala, he rejected that speculation out of hand. He said: 'I'm not going to Roma. If you read any rumours about me taking a coaching job in the next few years it's b*******. You can be the first to say it.'

Singer Bruce Springsteen brought out a special guest at his show in Liverpool as he performed with local star Sir Paul McCartney. Beginning his career in the 1960s, Springsteen has gone on to have 12 UK top 10 albums and four UK top 10 singles and is best known for songs such as Born In The USA, Dancing In The Dark and Born To Run. His Land of Hope and Dreams Tour, which includes 16 dates across six European countries, will conclude in Milan, Italy, on July 3.

Man Utd receive Lisandro Martinez injury update as timeline for return emerges
Lisandro Martinez rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in February and is now on the road to a comeback for Manchester United ahead of the start of pre-season under Ruben Amorim Lisandro Martinez is making good progress in his recovery from a serious knee injury and Manchester United are hopeful he could be available early next season. Martinez needed surgery in February after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in a match against Crystal Palace, but he's now on the road to recovery. The United defender was carried from the pitch in tears after sustaining the serious injury which ruled him out for the rest of the season. Martinez was a big miss for Ruben Amorim in the final three months of the campaign, as United limped to 15th place in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final against Tottenham. He was one of many injuries in defence for United and won't be able to take a full part in pre-season when that comes around. However, the club have been encouraged by the progress the Argentina international has made, with tests confirming last week that he hasn't got a tear in his meniscus. United are weary of rushing him back and will take a cautious approach to avoid aggravating the injury. But it is hoped he will be able to start an individual rehabilitation programme in the coming months, working individually on the grass during pre-season. The aim will be for Martinez to make his return as soon as possible in the 2025/26 season, when United's team will look very different. Amorim is keen to overhaul his squad – and the club will listen to offers for any of their players – but the United boss is a fan of Martinez. "If you let him, he can go play today without problem," Amorim said in March after Martinez was spotted cheering his team-mates on from the sidelines against Arsenal. "Because he loves the club, he wants to help the team, he understands the context. Like I said, he's a great character, he's really important in the dressing room." The 27-year-old has also been praised for his leadership and encouragement by young midfielder Toby Collyer, who told the club website: 'Licha is another name that's massively helped me, in training every day, around the building, to express myself, giving me little tips on the pitch and helping me through games. He's another one that's really helped me.' Collyer also struggled with injuries, so spent lots of time with Martinez. 'We saw each other every day in the physio room,' he added. 'And even when we're working in the gym, you have little moments where you can chat for a bit. It's nice to have someone like him to get through it with.' Martinez is keen to return as soon as possible. After undergoing surgery he wrote on Instagram: "Today, after going through several stormy days where I allowed myself to feel and accept my sadness, helplessness, insecurities, fears, and a deep emotional imbalance, I am reconnecting with my essence and my values, which help me see things from a kinder and more positive perspective. Stuart Pearce slams 'slow and lethargic' England star after Andorra win
Stuart Pearce was left disappointed by one England star's 'slow and lethargic' display as the Three Lions underwhelmed with a 1-0 win over lowly-ranked Andorra. Thomas Tuchel became the first England manager to win his first three games in charge without conceding a single goal. But the manner of Saturday's win left much to be desired, with England jeered off the pitch in Barcelona after a lacklustre attacking display. Noni Madueke was the sole bright spark in an England shirt, and set up the game's only goal with a low cross for Harry Kane to tap home. But several England players failed to impress to leave Tuchel with plenty of food for thought just twelve months out from the 2026 World Cup. And Pearce, in particular, was left frustrated by the performance of Cole Palmer, who was afforded the No10 role by Tuchel but failed to influence the game before his withdrawl shortly after the hour mark. 'I dont think he got the game, Pearce told talkSPORT. 'I don't think he understood exactly what was needed from him as a player. 'He played slow and lethargically because he had a lot of time to do so. When you have a lot of time to do so, that's the last thing you need to do. You need to play it quickly, effectively and show energy. 'He's not an aggressive player, but every time there was a challenge and the ball fell between him and an Andorran player, he almost got out of the way apologetically and let the Andorran take the ball of him and the rest of the team had to get it back for him.' Pearce continued: 'I think we're all disappointed with Cole today because we know he has the ability. 'But he's one of those over the next twelve months that has to prove his ability in an England shirt as well as in a Chelsea shirt, so we know we can trust you and you can be that matchwinner that is going to help us win the tournament.' Palmer was far from the only England player who failed to make an impact on the game, with Tuchel critical of his entire side for their lack of intensity during large swathes of the contest. 'I was most worried in the last 20 minutes because I did not like the attitude that we ended the game with,' said the German. More Trending 'I didn't like the lack of urgency and it did not match the occasion – it is still a World Cup qualifier. We will let them know [on Sunday] what we want from them. 'I think we lacked the seriousness and the urgency that is needed in a World Cup qualifier. 'I think we played with fire. I didn't like the attitude in the end. I didn't like the body language.
