Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas are keeping fans buzzing with their next big move. The Deeper co-stars, who have been at the center of romance and engagement chatter all year, are reportedly searching for a new home in the United Kingdom.
Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas reportedly want to settle down in UK
Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas are reportedly considering a permanent base together overseas.
While the Mission: Impossible star already owns a townhouse in London, a source from Star Magazine revealed he is searching for 'something grander' where the couple could potentially settle down and raise a family.
De Armas, who owns a home in Vermont, reportedly loves her time in New England. Still, Cruise has his sights on the UK for their future together. They 'are thinking long-term,' the insider said. 'And one of the big decisions is where to put down roots.'
The alleged house hunting comes amid rumours that Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas are on the verge of announcing an engagement. The source added that Cruise wants Ana's input in choosing the property but is 'intensely involved' in the decision-making. 'And after they've decided where to live he'll almost certainly announce the engagement,' the outlet's source claimed.
The couple's bond has appeared unbreakable since they were first linked in February. After all, they have been spotted enjoying a yacht vacation in Spain, sharing helicopter rides, birthday celebrations, and even attending an Oasis concert in London.
Their connection was further solidified during a recent, highly-publicized getaway to de Armas' Vermont home, where they were photographed holding hands during casual strolls. A People's source noted that the Deeper actress was 'excited to host Tom and show him around,' taking him to her favorite local spots like the Billings Farm & Museum and a beloved Woodstock bookstore.
Professionally, Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas are preparing to star in the upcoming Doug Liman-directed supernatural thriller, Deeper. The high-budget Warner Bros. film has reportedly fostered a 'special work relationship' between them, with Cruise acting as an incredible mentor to de Armas.

Leader of 'cult-like' UK Christian group guilty of sexually abusing women

By Sam Tobin LONDON (Reuters) -The leader of a "cult-like" Christian group once backed by the Church of England has been convicted of sexually abusing nine women in his congregation, after a jury returned their final verdicts on Thursday. Chris Brain, 68, led the Nine O'Clock Service, an evangelical church movement based in Sheffield, northern England, in the 1980s and 1990s. The group's nightclub-style services, which were held at 9 p.m. on Sundays, were aimed at young people, featured a live band and attracted hundreds of people at its peak. But, prosecutors said, Brain controlled members of the congregation, cutting them off from family and friends, and abused his position to sexually assault "a staggering number of women". Brain also had a "homebase team" of young women who looked after him, his wife and daughter at their house in Sheffield, who were dubbed "the lycra nuns", prosecutor Tim Clark said. He was charged with 36 counts of indecent assault and one count of rape relating to 13 women between 1981 and 1995. He denied the charges and said any sexual contact was consensual. After a trial at the Inner London Crown Court, Brain was convicted on Wednesday of 17 charges of indecent assault relating to nine women. He was acquitted of a further 15 counts. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on the remaining four counts of indecent assault and the alleged rape, Britain's Crown Prosecution Service said on Thursday, adding it would "carefully consider" a retrial. 'FAILING OF THE CHURCH' The Nine O'Clock Service had the blessing of the Church of England. Prosecutors said in 1990 that the Archbishop of Canterbury-elect, George Carey, had met Brain to discuss his methods. Brain's ordination was fast-tracked and the Nine O'Clock Service spent "large sums of money" to obtain the outfit worn by actor Robert De Niro for the 1986 film 'The Mission' for the ceremony, prosecutors said. But Brain resigned and left the church days before the broadcast of a 1995 BBC documentary, which accused him of sexually inappropriate behaviour. Carey said he was "crushed and let down" when the allegations were made public. In his evidence, Brain said he received massages from members of the Nine O'Clock Service, which he said occasionally moved towards sexual activity. He also denied controlling or manipulating members of the congregation. "What happened was an appalling abuse of power and leadership that should never have occurred," Bishop of Sheffield Pete Wilcox said in a statement. "Where concerns were raised in the past and were not acted upon properly, that was a failing of the Church. For those institutional failures I offer an unreserved apology." 6 Venice Film Festival Movies That Will Spark Your Wanderlust

Emma Stone in Bugonia, which was filmed across the United Kingdom as well as Greece. Atsushi Nishijima/Focus Features © 2025 All Rights Reserved. Bugonia (dir. Yorgos Lanthimos): United Kingdom, Greece Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos is best known for his work on The Favourite (which one seven BAFTAs, a Golden Globe and an Oscar), Poor Things (four Oscars and two Golden Globes) and The Lobster (a British Independent Film Award and four awards at Cannes). In Bugonia, Emma Stone(The Favourite, Bleat, Poor Things, Kinds of Kindness) and Jesse Plemons (Kinds of Kindness) both return to work with Lanthimos in his latest black comedy-slash-sci-fi feature. The film is a reimagining of Save the Green Planet!, a 2003 South Korean movie, this time involving a conspiracy theorist (Plemons) kidnapping a CEO (Stone) in a take that blends dark twists and turns with tension-breaking wit and humor. According to Spot Filming Location, Bugonia was shot across several different UK locations, including Oxshott in Surrey, where the incredible house owned by Stone's character is located, and areas across High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, used as urban exterior and street shots throughout the film. The sleek office building Stone's character works in was shot at Botanica Ditton Park, near Slough. The film ends with scenes in Greece, shot at Sarakiniko Beach on Milos, a stunning Greek island known for its lunar-like landscape and pristine beaches. The Testament of Ann Lee (dir. Mona Fastvold): Budapest, Gothenburg Fresh off the back of his 2024 best director Oscar for The Brutalist, 2025 will see Brady Corbet's latest work: The Testament of Ann Lee. Starring Amanda Seyfried, Thomasin McKenzie(Jojo Rabbit; The Power of the Dog) and Lewis Pullman(Top Gun: Maverick; Salem's Lot), the film centres around titular Ann Lee (played by Seyfried), the founding leader of the Shaker Movement as she establishes the sect. Set in 18th-century England, the movie's shoots have been kept largely under wraps, but rumor has it the team used locations around Budapest in Hungry and Gothenburg in Sweden. Premiering at Venice Film Festival and then again at Toronto Film Festival, this historical musical drama is already set to be a fascinating watch. Father Mother Sister Brother (dir. Jim Jarmusch): New Jersey, Dublin, Paris Director Jim Jarmusch is renowned for his indie movies, loved for their moodiness and minimalism. His first film in six years promises more of the same. Set up as a study of familial relations, the film is split into three sections following different family members around the world. The first section follows a father (Tom Waits) as his two adult sons (Adam Driver and Mayim Bialik) visit him in the American northeast; the second takes us to Dublin where a mother (Charlotte Rampling) is visited by her daughters (Vicky Krieps and Cate Blanchett), and the third and final section follows twins (Indya Moore and Luka Sabbat) as they grapple with a family tragedy while in Paris. It's set to be a masterpiece in character study, using location to set the tone for each new chapter. A version of this story originally appeared on Condé Nast Traveller UK.

The Beatles announce 'Anthology 4' with a new version of 'Free as a Bird.' Here's everything else we know about the expanded reissue.

Previously unreleased tracks and previously unseen footage are coming in November. Thirty years after it was first released, The Beatles' multimedia Anthology project — a career-spanning documentary; a glossy coffee-table book; three behind-the-scenes rarities albums — will be getting the deluxe reissue treatment this fall, Apple Corps Ltd. announced Thursday. Apple also dropped a new track to whet fans' appetite: a 'demixed' version of the 1995 reunion single 'Free as a Bird' with crystal-clear vocals from John Lennon. What else are the Beatles adding to their expanded Anthology? Here's everything we know so far. 'Free as a Bird (2025 Mix)' Available now on major streaming services, the '2025 mix' of 'Free as a Bird' uses the same advanced demixing technology that allowed the surviving Beatles — in collaboration with Giles Martin, the son of their 1960s producer, George Martin — to finish off a long-lost third reunion track, 'Now and Then,' and release it in late 2023. This version of 'Free as a Bird' has been a long time coming. In 1975, Lennon retreated from the music scene to raise his newborn son, Sean. But he never stopped writing and demoing songs at his home in New York City's Dakota Building. While many of Lennon's final compositions eventually appeared — in polished studio form — on his 1980 comeback album with wife Yoko Ono, Double Fantasy, and their posthumous 1984 collection Milk and Honey, a handful remained in Ono's vault. 'Free as a Bird' was one of them. On January 19, 1994 — some time after George Harrison and longtime Beatles' sidekick Neil Aspinall reportedly pitched Ono on the idea of fleshing out Lennon's unreleased demos with full-band instrumentation and vocals — Ono gave McCartney two cassette tapes. One featured "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love," two late Lennon demos that the surviving Beatles (aka The Threetles) ultimately "finished off" during 1994 and 1995 reunion sessions at Paul McCartney's home studio in Sussex, England and released as part of the sprawling 1995-1996 Beatles Anthology project. "It's the end of the line, really," Ringo Starr said at the time. "There's nothing more we can do as the Beatles." That, of course, turned out to be not quite true. Back in 1994 and 1995, producer Jeff Lynne and his team used existing technology to iron out problems with pitch, timing and noise on Lennon's tapes, but his vocals on the original Anthology versions of 'Free as a Bird' and 'Real Love' still sounded ghostly and distant — like they were recorded on a primitive cassette player. But for 'Now and Then' — a third Lennon demo that McCartney, Starr and Harrison worked on for two days in March 1995, then abandoned — Martin took advantage of a machine-assisted learning program developed by director Peter Jackson's team and recently used on other Beatles projects to isolate, clarify and remix individual voices and instruments. The result? A much sharper Lennon vocal than on "Free as a Bird" or "Real Love.' The 2025 version of 'Free as a Bird' benefits from the same technology (as well as a new, punchier mix by Lynne). Artificial intelligence is involved, but this isn't a fake robot Lennon that had been generated from existing audio data and programmed to "sing." Instead, as McCartney told BBC's Radio 4 Today program in June 2023, "[Jackson] was able to extricate John's voice from a ropey little bit of cassette. We had John's voice and a piano and he could separate them with AI. They tell the machine: 'That's the voice. This is a guitar. Lose the guitar.' [So] we were able to take John's voice and get it pure through this AI so that then we can mix the record, as you would normally do." The original 'Free as a Bird' music video has been restored as well. 'Real Love (2025 Mix)' It's not out yet — and we don't know exactly when it will be — but the Beatles have also prepped a demixed version of 'Real Love,' the other Threetles reunion single. The expanded Anthology albums are slated for release on Nov. 21; 'Real Love' could come out earlier, as another preview track, or it could be withheld for release day. 'Anthology 4' album The original Anthology set consisted of 155 rare demos, studio outtakes and live cuts spread across three double albums. The idea was to provide 'insight into the early development of songs that became the [Beatles'] recorded masterpieces,' as Apple put it Thursday. Now they're adding a fourth installment. 'Curated' by Martin, Anthology 4 features an additional 36 Beatles rarities. Twenty-three of them have already seen the light of day on earlier 'super deluxe' reissues of the band's studio albums. But 13 Anthology 4 tracks have never been officially released, until now. They include new outtakes of 'If I Fell,' 'In My Life,' 'Nowhere Man,' 'Hey Bulldog' and 'All You Need Is Love.' Here's the complete list of previously unreleased material: Tell Me Why (Takes 4 and 5) If I Fell (Take 11) Matchbox (Take 1) Every Little Thing (Takes 6 and 7) I Need You (Take 1) I've Just Seen A Face (Take 3) In My Life (Take 1) Nowhere Man (First version – Take 2) Baby, You're A Rich Man (Takes 11 and 12) All You Need Is Love (Rehearsal for BBC broadcast) The Fool On The Hill (Take 5 – Instrumental) I Am The Walrus (Take 19 – strings, brass, clarinet overdub) Hey Bulldog (Take 4 – instrumental) Free As A Bird (2025 mix) Real Love (2025 mix) 'Now and Then' will also appear on Anthology 4. 'Remastered' versions of 'Anthology 1, 2 and 3' According to Apple, all existing Anthology material has been 'remastered' by Martin as well. That sounds like standard practice, but it's likely to amount to something much more substantial. Why? Because Jackson's machine-assisted learning program has the power to clean up and clarify all of the embryonic Beatles recordings on Anthology 1 in particular — including their very early, very noisy demos, taped while they were still teenage amateurs in Liverpool. A new episode of the 'Anthology' TV documentary The original Anthology documentary was an eight-part series that eschewed the usual talking- heads approach in favor of letting John, Paul, George and Ringo tell their own story, in their own words. Now there's a ninth episode. According to Apple, the new installment includes 'unseen behind-the-scenes footage of Paul, George and Ringo coming together between 1994 and 1995 to work on 'The Anthology' and reflec[t] on their shared life as The Beatles.' The entire documentary has been restored and remastered as well, with the help of Jackson's Wingnut Films & Park Road Post teams. Never before available in digital form, it starts streaming on Disney+ on Nov. 26. The Anthology book — 368 pages illustrated with more than 1,300 photos, documents and other memorabilia from the band's archives — will be republished on Oct. 14. Solve the daily Crossword
