Even the veggie braised leek Sunday roast is a winner, £31 for two courses.
WHAT WE DIDN'T LOVE. . .
This place is still feathering its nest, so it'll be autumn before its Asian-fusion restaurant and rooftop bar open.

Real reason for Christine McGuinness's toxic fall out with Chelcee Grimes revealed after star grew close to Dan Osborne

IN the scorching heat of a sizzling Ibizan summer back in 2023, Christine McGuinness and Chelcee Grimes couldn't have been closer as they locked lips during a girly holiday with pals. But in a shocking turn of events, just weeks later, the former bosom buddies were barely speaking, each pressing the dreaded 'unfollow' on Instagram and disappearing from each other's lives at the click of a button. What's baffling is that the reason for the sudden end to the close pal's friendship has never been revealed - until now. 12 Those with intimate knowledge of the pair's short-lived but deep bond- which has found itself back in the spotlight this week after Christine revealed in a new podcast interview that she has always 'dated men and women' - tell The Sun that the pair stopped speaking after an explosive argument over the nature of their relationship. A source said: 'Christine and Chelcee had a blazing row after a discussion about where they stood with each other. The fallout took place in late 2023, a year after they first grew close while filming ITV's The Games, a time when Christine turned to Chelcee for support after splitting from husband Paddy a few months earlier. 'TOO INTENSE' 'Chelcee had been a rock for Christine after her split from Paddy and they were incredibly close. But while Chelcee was a bit more full on, Christine wanted them just to have fun and thought it was becoming too intense. ' Christine had a lot on her plate with her children and her career. They ended up having an argument and in the heat of the moment unfollowed each other on social media.' Of course, as The Sun revealed yesterday, around the same time that Christine was spending time with Chelcee, she was also seeking comfort in a growing friendship with former Towie star Dan Osborne. The pair enjoyed a series of nights out on the town in March 2023 and bonded over the end of her marriage to Paddy, while Dan was trying to make things work with his wife Jacqueline Jossa after a rocky patch. While we understand nothing romantic ever happened between them, it's understood they shared a 'flirty' texts where Christine would call him 'D'. It's unclear whether Chelcee was aware of Christine's friendship with Dan, but there is no suggestion it contributed to their fallout. Nevertheless, radio silence followed between Christine and Chelcee after the spat - a s tark contrast to their kisses in the Balearic Isles, or the scene seven months prior in December 2022, when they were snapped kissing on the lips at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. Christine McGuinness is dating women and men and will fly to Ibiza for hot same sex date TIME APART The source adds: 'They both needed a bit of time out to get their heads straight. It's always sad when you're close with someone and then heated words are exchanged, and they were both upset.' After a cooling off period, pals say the pair made tentative steps towards repairing things, but ultimately their friendship never recovered. 'After taking some time apart they tried to work through it and get their friendship back on track. Christine meant the world to Chelcee,' a pal tells us. 'Unfortunately, things just felt different after their fallout. Christine was still going through the stress of a divorce, while living under the same roof as Paddy, so she was still in a different place to Chelcee, even after their time apart.' Since relations soured with Chelcee, Christine grew very close with another female friend, DJ Roxxxan. They enjoyed a sunsoaked holiday together in the summer of 2024, even sharing cheeky snaps of them 'playing footsie' on social media. 12 12 12 THE FEUD ESCALATES While the rumour mill went into overdrive, the nature of their relationship was unclear - although reports claimed they were sharing a room during their getaway. Chelcee, for one, didn't seem impressed by Christine's new gal pal. That same summer while the blonde was enjoying her care-free break with the striking musician, Chelcee liked a comment from a fan on Instagram, which read: 'Christine is fake as they come, Chelcee deserved so much better. "Christine can keep trying to get attention and fake a new romance." While this was the final nail in the coffin for any chance of Christine and Chelcee repairing things appeared too busy enjoying herself with her new friend to care. And while neither Christine nor Roxxxan addressed speculation that they were romantically involved, Christine confirmed in an interview on Loose Women after the holiday that she was dating. CHRISTINE'S CONFESSION With a beaming smile on her face, she told panellist Coleen Nolan: "I am dating with terms and conditions that I am not cooking, that's the number one rule, I'm not doing the cooking it's not for me." Things also appeared to have cooled between Christine and Roxxxan in recent months however. They haven't been seen in public together since late 2024, and although they haven't unfollowed each other on social media, they haven't posted any snaps on holidays or nights out. Fast forward to today, and sources close to Christine tell us she isn't romantically involved with anyone right now - at least not seriously. Christine feels like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders A pal tells The Sun 'She's actually free and single and she is happy that way at the moment,' a friend of the blonde mum-of-three tells us. And while Christine recently caused a headache for Channel 4 bosses when she pulled out of filming for Celebs Go Dating last month after deciding she wasn't ready to date on camera, we're told she's in the best place she has been for years after deciding to open up about her sexuality on Elizabeth Day's How To Fail podcast. 12 12 FINALLY FREE 'Christine feels like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders since she did that interview,' a pal reveals. 'The chat was always scheduled to promote her joining Celebs Go Dating, but when she pulled out of the show, she decided to go ahead with the podcast appearance anyway. 'Her sexuality has been whispered about for years and she was fed up of it. She wanted to talk about it on her terms in a space where she felt safe. Now she has, she feels liberated and more confident than ever.' In the hour-long chat, Christine told presenter and broadcaster Elizabeth that she has dated both men and women since her teens, and revealed husband Paddy always knew she also liked girls. Who is Chelcee Grimes? She said: 'It shouldn't matter somebody's gender. It never mattered to me, which was why once me and my ex-husband were separated and I met people, I didn't properly date. 'It was more like blurred the lines of friendships for me, that was normal. It felt comfortable because I'd done that as a teenager and I, as a teenager, I dated both men and women. My ex-husband knew. My family knew. It was never a secret for me.'' BYE BYE BOYS Although Christine refuses to put a label on her sexuality, instead preferring to call herself a 'free spirit', sources claim she has privately told pals that she can't ever see herself dating a man again. 'She didn't say this publicly on the podcast, but Christine has made no secret to her nearest and dearest that she believes she will only date women in the future. 'She's only ever had one serious relationship with a man, and that was the man she married, Paddy, but she prefers dating women because she feels more of an emotional connection with them. 'She still finds men physically attractive, but for her it goes deeper with a woman, almost on a spiritual level. 'Obviously, things can always change and you never know who will come into your life, but her friends have said they would be very surprised if Christine ever settled down with a bloke again.'

Doorbell Detectives and Scam Interceptors review: These Big Brother-style shows turn daytime TV into long periods of boredom punctuated by moments of terror

Which is how I ended up watching Doorbell Detectives (BBC1, Mon, 8.30pm), which inexplicably was given a prime-time slot this week before retreating to a more usual daytime airing in a terrifyingly Big Brother-style anti-crime double bill with Scam Interceptors (BBC1, weekdays, 2.30pm). Watchdog's Matt Allwright – who has carved himself a niche in these low-budget infotainment shows – hosts Doorbell Detectives, standing uneasily in the middle of a set which is part hay-barn and part GP's waiting room. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad What little budget the show has is taken up by a floating screen in the middle of the barn, on which Matt can show us grainy footage from doorbell cameras up and down the country. Matt Allwright in the Doorbell Detectives studio, a 'cross between a hay barn and a GP's waiting room' (Picture: BBC/Objective Media Group t/a Purple Productions) Apparently, one-in-five homes comes equipped with these mini CCTV rigs, constantly texting alerts to phones across suburbia, alerting home owners to the delivery man chucking a parcel on the doorstep, next door's cat relieving itself on the azaleas, or little Tommy from No.35 belting down the pavement on his e-scooter. Matt and his doorbell detectives seem to the think this is a good thing, and brings in Anton, a former police officer with 30 years' experience, to help one Manchester resident previously left severely under-surveilled to fit a camera to her own home. Anton, who seems to think he is testifying in the witness box rather than offering advice on a semi-serious daytime TV show, offers essential advice such as 'make sure the battery is charged', while brushing off concerns about the invasion of everyone's privacy. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'Some people can get a bit funny about catching what's going in neighbouring properties,' he says, as if the wish to maintain some sort of privacy is the main indicator of a serial killer. Doorbell Detectives features footage taken from doorbell cameras of would-be criminals attempting thefts and burglaries (Picture: BBC/Objective Media Group t/a Purple Productions) Meanwhile, back in the studio, Matt chats to people who caught would-be burglars in the all-seeing eye of their doorbell camera, and finds out what they did next. Mainly, it seems, telling everyone else in the neighbourhood WhatsApp group, so they could check their doorbell cameras as well. That's because 'confronting thieves is dangerous', Matt tells us, before then proving it by talking to homeowner Alison, whose husband was badly beaten up by a fleeing criminal. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Understandably, Alison doesn't want to be identified, so Matt ends up talking to a floating phone lock-screen in the middle Doorbell Detectives' luxo-barn. It all gets very tense in the Scam Interceptors HQ. The team are Harleen Nottay, Mark Lewis, Aaron Ng, and Nick Stapleton (Picture: BBC Studios) It's all very low-rent, and frankly very dull, unlike its partner Scam Interceptors, which is Mission: Impossible compared to Doorbell Detectives' Hettie Wainthropp Investigates. Rav Wilding sits in 'Interceptor HQ' in Glasgow, accompanied by a team of black-clad investigators, staring at a bank of screens – all with headsets and flashing lights. Apparently, they have employed the services of an 'ethical hacker' to get into the computer systems of those scam callers who regularly call to warn you that someone has spend thousands of your hard-earned pounds online. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad They can listen into the scammers calling an unsuspecting pensioner and – hopefully – warn them they are being scammed. Unfortunately, you wonder how they don't get caught in that Spider-Man meme, the one where several Spider-Men are all pointing at each other, each caller claiming the other is the scammer. Rav is incredibly enthusiastic, the music is pounding and urgent, and the sense of tension is palpable. Both these shows leave you with the uncomfortable feeling of being observed anonymously, distantly by unknown powers. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad But beyond that, the effect they have must be the opposite of the one required. Far from imparting information that might help keep you safe, far from being an effective crime-busting tool, and very far from giving you a reassuring notion that these criminals are being deterred, these shows can only serve to frighten the viewers at home. Given these are daytime shows, many of those viewers will be the very frail, vulnerable or elderly people they profess to want to protect. And leaving them in a state of fear, unwilling to go out, to engage with the world, to enjoy a full life. Only stuck inside watching TV. Which, as we know, is a problem. Because its summer, and there's nothing on.

Tourists can't believe how much they're charged for beer at Ibiza's newest club: 'It's just plainly indefensible'

Tourists are being charged an eye-watering amount for beer at Ibiza's newest club. The hotspot has seen iconic venue Ku Club officially reopen as UNVRS, which promises to provide immersive indoor experiences with the help of technology. Its website says: 'UNVRS is not just a venue, it's a blueprint for the future of entertainment. It creates a new reality for nightlife - one where the boundaries are not merely pushed, but redefined.' The colossal venue, which opened last week, boasts a 10,000-person capacity and is instantly recognisable thanks to a towering crashed UFO sculpture at the entrance. Inside, guests can enjoy open-air terraces with sweeping views of Formentera island, along with high-energy performances from dancers throughout the night. However, the super club's drinks menu has caused a stir with visitors. Posting on web forum Reddit, one user shared the menu, which reveals water is charged at €15 (£12). Soft drinks such as Coca Cola and Sprite, meanwhile, cost €15 per bottle. Posting on web forum Reddit , one user shared the menu, which reveals water will even be charged at €15 (£12) The super club is charging €18 for a pint of Heineken, with wine and rosé also costing the same When it comes to beers, a Heineken costs a staggering €18 (£15), while a glass of white wine or rosé costs the same. A Malibu will set you back €22 (£18) or for one euro more you can order it alongside a mixer. Moet and Chandon champagne is also on the menu, with a bottle costing €55 (£46). Reacting, one person angrily said: '18 euros for a f****** Heineken? lol The one and only time I went to Hi they actually measured the spirits as well so you don't even get a good free pour.' A second blasted: 'I know it's how Ibiza works but I'll never understand charging 15 euros for water or a Coke Zero. You don't even get that at festivals. It's just plainly indefensible.' Hollywood actor Will Smith was drafted in by nightclub bosses to promote its reopening, with the Men In Black star even appearing in a social media campaign.
