Woman arrested after multi-agency pursuit ends with car in orchard

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A driver was placed under arrest Tuesday afternoon following a pursuit that ended just north of Delano.
On June 3, an alleged pepper spraying suspect led law enforcement on a chase through at least three cities. The suspect, a woman driving a white Hyundai Elantra, was traveling northbound on Highway 99 at speeds up to 110 miles per hour, according to Bakersfield police.

CHP took over the pursuit at 12:03 p.m., and the woman was arrested 12 minutes later, after exiting Highway 99 on the Avenue 24 off-ramp.
No injuries were reported in this pursuit.
Police initially responded to the 800 block of Union Avenue for a report of a victim who'd been pepper sprayed. After the suspect vehicle was located, the pursuit began, according to police.

MIAMI, Okla. — Ottawa County District Attorney Doug Pewitt is offering individuals affected by a recent shooting at a Miami restaurant resources through the state's Crime Victims Compensation Program. 'People who may have been impacted by the May 31 active shooter situation at Mia Bella Italian Kitchen may be eligible for assistance through the Oklahoma Crime Victims Compensation Program,' said Pewitt. The state program covers unreimbursed expenses related to the crime, including medical, dental, and prescription costs, counseling and rehabilitation services, traditional healing, crime scene cleanup, work loss, services replacement, and mileage reimbursement for mental and medical appointments. The alleged shooter, Michael Anthony Cook III, 25, is charged in Ottawa County District Court in Miami with discharging a firearm into a dwelling, felony pointing a firearm, and two counts of shooting with intent to kill. He remains hospitalized after a shootout with Miami police, according to an arrest affidavit.
