R Madhavan recalls uncomfortable scene from Shaitaan: Had to be authentic
Actor R Madhavan recently spoke about his most challenging sequence from 'Shaitaan.' While speaking to actor Kajol, in a one-on-one interaction, Madhavan recalled how the urination scene in the supernatural horror took an emotional toll on actor, who was having a conversation with Kajol on JioStudios' YouTube channel for 'Maa', admitted feeling disgusted about the shot. In the sequence where his character forces her daughter to dance constantly, resulting in her wetting herself due to physical strain, Madhavan said, "It was a very sensitive scene."advertisement"There's this moment where I make my daughter dance through the night. She reaches a point where she can't hold it anymore and urinates. In the original version of the film, the approach to the scene was different. But here, I realised that even as a villain, if I looked at her during that moment, it would send out a completely different message. I needed the audience to feel disgust—not pity or justification," he added. The 'Kesari - Chapter Two' actor further said, "So, I wrapped myself in a blanket, deliberately avoiding looking at her. That decision not only worked for the character but gave me relief as an actor. I could step away emotionally while still staying true to the role. I simply tell the mother, 'Can you go help your daughter?'"advertisementMadhavan concluded, "There were many such moments during filming that made me deeply uncomfortable. But I had to find ways to stay authentic while protecting myself emotionally."'Shaitaan', directed by Vikas Bahl, was the Hindi adaptation of the Gujarati film Vash' (2023). It featured Ajay Devgn, Jyothika, and Janki Bodiwala alongside Madhavan in pivotal characters. The film is about a family held hostage by a mysterious man who exerts mind control over their daughter through upcoming mythological-horror 'Maa' is a spin-off to 'Shaitaan.' Both films have been produced by Devgn Watch

Housefull 5 Releases With Two Different Endings; Fans Root For No Spoilers
Last Updated: Housefull 5, starring Akshay Kumar, released on June 6 with two different endings in theatres. Fans urged others not to post spoilers. In a new cinematic experiment, Housefull 5 hit the theatres today, June 6, with multiple endings in different theatres. Two different climaxes have been filmed for the movie, and each will be shown in different theatres. On the release day of the Akshay Kumar-starrer, cinephiles are rallying against spoilers for both endings on social media. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), a fan wrote, 'My sincere request to fans to not post live scenes direct from the cinema of #Housefull5 here – let us enjoy theater viewing." Another penned, ''#Housefull5 please don't post any spoilers. it's a request." Yet another posted, 'Another fan wrote, '#Housefull5 Day, caution Do not leak the killer . No need to spoilers to any scene Go watch and enjoy with your family." My sincere request to fans to not post live scenes direct from cinema of #Housefull5 here – let us enjoy theater viewing— ՏᕼᗩIᒪᗴՏᕼ (@shaileshgam) June 6, 2025 #Housefull5 please don't post any spoilers. it's a request— akshay p chavan (@akshaypchavan1) June 6, 2025 Alternate endings are seldom explored in cinema history, especially not to this extent. This time, Housefull 5 goes beyond comedy. It's a murder mystery that embraces narrative unpredictability, backed by the star power and mass appeal of a successful franchise. Speaking about it, Sajid Nadiadwala shared, 'With Housefull 5, we wanted to take a bold creative swing that hasn't been done before internationally for any thriller film. The idea of having multiple endings, multiple experiences has been with me for 30 years. Since, i wanted to make Housefull 5 a thriller comedy, there couldn't have been a better way to execute my idea of having multiple endings than this." He added, 'It felt right to do something radical as we celebrate 75 years of Nadiadwala Grandson in the industry. Housefull is India's biggest comedy franchise and for the fifth instalment, we had to push the boundaries of what comedy can be. The idea of different endings came from a simple question: why should the audience always have just one version of the truth in a thriller? With Housefull 5, we've built a film that plays with form while staying completely rooted in entertainment. It's a killer comedy, literally, with twists that change depending on where you're watching it. and I'm proud we're doing it under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson as we mark 75 years in the business. Our legacy has always been about embracing scale, stars, and giving audiences newer experiences and Housefull 5 takes all it to another level." He further mentioned, 'It's a natural extension of the theatrical experience: creating intrigue, rewatch value, and a sense of discovery. In a world of spoilers and algorithms, we're bringing back that element of surprise. And that's where the fun begins." For distributors, this format offers both opportunities and challenges. Sanjay Chatar of Pen Marudhar explained that it adds 'an entirely new layer of interactivity to the theatrical experience." This requires close collaboration with exhibitors to ensure 'optimal programming, audience flow, and discoverability across locations." 'We're excited to support the launch of Housefull 5 with this groundbreaking multi-ending format—the first time such a release strategy has been attempted at scale in Indian cinema. Each of our locations will screen both versions of the film, programmed either across different screens or staggered showtimes. This gives moviegoers more choice, more engagement, and more reason to return to the theatre." Kamal Gianchandani – Chief Business planning & Strategy at PVR INOX said. Housefull 5 boasts an ensemble of 19 stars, comprising Akshay Kumar, joined by returning favourites and some new faces including Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir.
