Tablets have slowly carved their way into the tech space and nowadays every techie either wants one or has one. Apple's iPads are highly sought-after for their excellent speakers, huge ecosystem of apps and accessories, and powerful hardware.Well, powerful hardware if you spend the cash for a higher-tier option like a Pro or an Air. But what if you could get one without paying what you would for a pro-grade laptop?Yes, it's possible — you don't really need to always go for the latest model. Apple's M-class chips were way, way ahead of their time when they launched in 2020. And when the first M1-equipped iPad Pro dropped in 2021, so did our jaws, as the processor has quite a lot of headroom and power to deal with anything that iPadOS might ask of it.In fact, this author is still using an iPad Pro M1 to this day, only occasionally thinking about an upgrade, but ultimately — a reason to do that has not yet become apparent. With that being said, here is a number of iPad deals you can get at Back Market for a limited time!Any iPad Pro from 2021 onwards will come with an M-class chip — M1, M2, or M4 (the latest, 2024 models). And each of them will have a 120 Hz ProMotion screen, quad speakers, support for Apple Pencil Pro, Magic Keyboard, Stage Manager desktop experience, and Face ID.If you want to save even more, you can get an iPad Air from 2022 with its own M1 chip, and support for Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard.M1 still has the power to run the full suite of features that iPadOS 18 comes with, Apple Intelligence included, and even the new console-grade games that have recently started coming out in the App Store still list M1 as the minimum requirement.Thankfully, you don't need to scour the second hand market and toss a coin when deciding whether a seller is legit or not. Back Market is an established reseller of electronics that specializes in picking up devices, inspecting them, doing the necessary repairs, and selling them at great prices.Whenever you are shopping at Back Market, every unit you are looking at is specifically graded, so you know exactly what you are buying. iOS 18's adoption rate just blew past iOS 17's
iOS 18 seems to be liked by many and according to an Apple statistic, it's outpacing iOS 17 adoption during the same timeframe last year. Right now, according to Apple's data, iOS 18 is installed on 88% of iPhones introduced in the last four years – this means the iPhone 13 and newer models. Overall, 82% of all active iPhones are running iOS 18 . The adoption of the current OS has grown significantly since earlier this year. Back in January, 76% of newer iPhones sported iOS 18 while 68% of all iPhones that are active were running it. Image Credit - Apple On top of that, it turns out that iOS 18 is more popular than iOS 17 . Back in June 2024, 86% of newer iPhones (those introduced in the last four years) had installed iOS 17 in comparison to 77% of all iPhones. In the iPad department, iPadOS 18 is currently being enjoyed on 81% of iPads introduced in the last four years and on 71% of total active iPads. iPadOS 18 is also enjoying a more rapid adoption rate than iPadOS 17 in June of last year. Back then, 77% of newer iPads and 68% of all iPads were running iPadOS 17. Image Credit - Apple One of the reasons for this faster adoption could be Apple Intelligence tools like Writing Tools, Genmoji, Image Playground, and notification summaries. After all, these features were the main selling point for iOS 18 (of course, the promised context-aware Siri too, but that's not coming now and people know it). Apple's iPhones are known for their longevity, and one of the main reasons for this is the regular software updates. Older iPhones get new functionality with iOS updates at the same time as other, newer iPhones (not everything, though, sometimes hardware limitations stop some of the new features). On top of that, Apple frequently addresses security vulnerabilities and bugs with timely updates. The Cupertino giant says older iPhones getting new features for multiple years is an experience exclusive to the iPhone. This is mainly due to the deep integration between the hardware and the software. Software updates are a way to give value to iPhone customers over a long period of time and also enable people to use an iPhone for years while still getting some of the new experiences. Now, Apple is gearing up to introduce the next OS next week during WWDC 2025. Reportedly, the new OS may not be called iOS 19, but instead iOS 26, and the jump is said to be motivated by the year (2026 being, I guess, the year when this new OS will mainly rule). Reportedly, the new OS may bring a visual redesign and may be quite big. According to rumors, the oldest iPhone that will be able to install iOS 26 is the iPhone 11 (but this is not confirmed officially just yet). The software experience and these timely updates are one of the main reasons I'm sticking with iPhones personally. I like the fact that I can rock an older iPhone as a daily driver and still get a fast experience and new features at the same time as someone with a brand-new iPhone 16 gets in my opinion, is one of the many strategies Apple uses to keep people loyal to its brand. The software updates and the seamless connectivity with other Apple devices are what had me hooked at the start too. And still keeps me pretty hooked, if I may add. On the Android front, it seems Android 15 adoption is slower this time around. But we have a huge market there, with many makers who have skins on top of Android and all types of different devices, so it's understandable that an Apple rate of adoption may be close to impossible. Meanwhile, One UI 7's rollout (Samsung's Android 15 -based skin) and its slow progress and delays could also be impacting the overall Android 15 adoption.

Apple's iPhone 17 Air may leave out a fan-favorite upgrade
A new rumor about the iPhone 17 Air throws a bit of cold water on the display excitement some of us have been harboring. The iPhone 17 series has been popping up in rumors for a while now, but it's still pretty early – and Apple's usually great at keeping secrets. So, as you'd expect, the info out there is all over the place. Recently, a leak got us all (me especially) quite hyped about the base iPhone 17 model getting something long overdue... a ProMotion display. But then new rumors said there will likely not be a ProMotion display for the iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Air . Curiously, the 120Hz refresh rate is said to stay, but without the ProMotion-ness of Pro-branded iPhones. iPhone 17 Air concept. | Image Credit - Majin Bu So, what's the difference between ProMotion displays and a regular 120Hz display? Generally, ProMotion displays rock a 120Hz refresh rate, but the key here is that it's adaptable to what you're doing. It can go all the way down to 1Hz to conserve battery life, and that's what enables the Pro models' always-on displays. So, the iPhone 17 Air may get a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling smooth and animations fluid, but may miss out on the always-on feature that Pro users are used to. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to replace the 'Plus' model in the upcoming iPhone 17 series. It may come with a new design and a Pixel-like camera island, but its main selling point will undoubtedly be its extra-thin profile. The phone is said to measure around 5.5mm, which is incredibly thin, and its dummy unit has leaked repeatedly alongside other iPhone models, flaunting its thinness. But the iPhone 17 Air is a mixed bag, at least judging by leaks. It may have a small battery, and although Apple is rumored to be trying to save it from its small battery life fate, it still makes me frown. It seems to me its biggest selling point would be the looks, but I can't help but wonder how important this reported thinness would be if you're bound to throw a case on it anyway... The iPhone 17 Air is set to rival the Galaxy S25 Edge, another thin beauty that recently got revealed. Despite the fancy looks though, it seems the Galaxy S25 Edge may have failed to meet Samsung's expectations when it comes to sales, at least judging by certain hints... I wonder if the Air will be met with a similar fate. For me, the lack of ProMotion on the iPhone 17 Air is a big miss, if this rumor is true. What's even worse is that ProMotion may have actually helped with battery life, but hey, Apple does need a way to push people to the Pro models, right?

Best Buy is selling Apple's budget-friendly iPad 11 at a huge $150 discount with 512GB storage
Released just around three months ago with a decidedly familiar design, respectable Apple A16 Bionic processor under the hood, and a very reasonable price point, the 11th Gen "regular" iPad is marked down by a substantial $150 for the first time today. You only have 24 hours (or less, depending on when you see this story) to save the big bucks on a Wi-Fi-only variant of the iPad 11 with an 11-inch screen in tow and a generous 512 gigs of internal storage space. Best Buy's killer new deal of the day is technically good on all four color options (including silver, blue, pink, and yellow), but if you're not quick, some of those paint jobs could definitely go out of stock before you get a chance to make your purchase. Wi-Fi Only, 11-Inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD Screen with 2360 x 1640 Pixel Resolution, Apple A16 Processor, 512GB Storage, 12MP Rear-Facing Camera, 12MP Front-Facing Camera, Top-Mounted Fingerprint Scanner, All-Day Battery Life, USB Type-C Port, Four Color Options Buy at BestBuy Normally priced at $649, the 512GB iPad (2025) is remarkably cheap right now... for a tablet with 512GB local digital hoarding room. At $499, this bad boy currently undercuts Samsung's Galaxy Tab S10 FE mid-ranger in a 256GB storage configuration, and although that price doesn't include a stylus or any other productivity-enhancing accessories, our in-depth Apple iPad (A16) review highlights the amazing deal you can make if you hurry. There's clearly nothing wrong with being the "vanilla ice cream of tablets" when you've got a sharp Liquid Retina display, super-reliable Touch ID sensor, large battery, decent speaker system, and especially stellar long-term software support helping enhance that otherwise neutral flavor. No, you're certainly not looking at the best tablet money can buy in 2025, but if you're both a hardcore Apple fan and a digital hoarder on a tight budget, it's difficult to find a better value proposition today... and today only. The 256GB storage variant, in case you're wondering, is available at $399 after a much humbler $50 markdown from a $449 list price, while an entry-level 128 gig unit can be had for $299 instead of $349. So, yeah, it's pretty clear which model is the better deal at the time of this writing.
