‘Star Wars' Darth Maul Animated Series Ordered By Disney+; Sam Witwer Returns To Voice Villain

Star Wars' iconic villain Darth Maul is returning to the screen with a new animated series at Disney+. Maul: Shadow Lord was announced Friday during Lucasfilm Animation's panel at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo with Sam Witwer, who has voiced the character in several iterations, returning to reprise the role.
Witwer himself took the stage to announce his return in the series, which is currently in production and set for premiere on Disney+ in 2026. He previously voiced the character in in animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels and in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The new series is set after the events of the final season of The Clone Wars, with Maul rising again to lead the underworld factions, according to starwars.com
Attendees at the Star Wars Celebration panel got a glimpse of the new series in a clip which reportedly reveals Maul training a Twi'lek apprentice that appears to be the future Darth.
The Darth Maul character first appeared in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
Witwer has worked on numerous projects in the Star Wars universe, first voicing Starkiller in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game series. His other credits include the role of Crashdown in Battlestar Galactica, Davis Bloome in Smallville, Aidan Waite in Being Human, Mr. Hyde in Once Upon a Time, Ben Lockwood in Supergirl, and Rupert Chipping in Riverdale.

June 5 (UPI) -- Disney+ is teasing the Frozen Broadway and West End musical, which is coming to the streamer June 20. The trailer gives glimpses of the cast members singing hits such as "Let It Go" and "For the First Time in Forever." West End stars Samantha Barks and Laura Dawkes play Elsa and Anna in the production. The musical, which premiered on Broadway in 2018 and on West End in 2021, features 12 original songs in addition to the film favorites. Disney's computer animated film Frozen opened in 2013 and featured the voices of Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel as the orphaned royal sisters Anna and Elsa. The movie sequel arrived in 2019.

Disney On Ice returning to Birmingham with new show

DISNEY On Ice is returning to Birmingham with a new adventure. The show, Find Your Hero, will take place at the BP Pulse Live Birmingham arena from October 29 to November 9, 2025. Tickets will be available for pre-sale to priority customers from 9am on Friday, June 6 and for general sale from 9am on Friday, June 13. The show promises to deliver a family experience featuring classic Disney songs and world-class skating. Characters including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy will take the stage, along with others from popular Disney stories. Audiences will witness Mirabel trying to save her family's beloved Casita, Moana embarking on a quest to save her island, and Anna, Elsa, and Olaf on a mission to protect their kingdom. The production will also feature tales from The Little Mermaid, Rapunzel and Beauty and the Beast. The Disney On Ice cast rehearses for more than 550 hours to perfect each performance. The production features over 200 props and costumes, all transported in 14 trucks from city to city. The set-up takes between 10 and 15 hours. Find Your Hero will bring beloved Disney characters to life through figure skating, costumes and set designs. The show will also feature special effects, high-flying jumps and breath taking skating.
