The 7 Most Expensive Motorcycles in the World in 2025

The average motorcycle can cost a motor biking enthusiast anything from $5,000 to $20,000 to ride a new bike off the lot. This might seem like a lot of money, but it's still a far cheaper price range than what one would pay for most new cars. That said, there are a number of motorcycles that cost — wait for it — well over $1 million.

That's right, two wheels and an engine within a sleek body can cost millions upon millions of dollars. How? According to the information site Jagran Josh, the wallet-busting costs are mostly due to highly limited model runs and exclusive designs, cost-prohibitive technology too pricey for mass production and good old-fashioned historical significance.
Also here are four motorcycles that maintain value and 3 that depreciate quickly.
Price: $11 million
This bad boy was initially priced at a shocking $110,000 before speeding to an almost-unbelievable $11 million at auction, all thanks to a wildly singular frame that is made from a single piece of metal built around a 120ci V-twin engine.

Price: $7 million
This 1949 iteration of the Porcupine only produced four units, renowned for their lightweight frame made of aluminum (allowing it to excel in the Grand Prix racing circuit). That incredible rarity, mixed with powerful speed (thanks to a 500-cc DOHC twin engine), makes the Porcupine not just legendary, but extremely, extremely expensive.
Price: $3.6 million
A 'hyperbike,' the Ecosse ES1 Spirit can breeze past speeds over 200 mph due to its lightweight nature (256 pounds because of its carbon-fiber body) and its 1000 cc four cylinder in-line engine. That level of innovation, mixed with an overall rarity, allow the Ecosse a seven-figure price tag.
Price: $3.5 million
The Hildebrand & Wolfmuller was made in 1984, making it the first-ever production motorcycle — which almost makes an extraordinarily significant piece of antiquity and automotive history.
Price: $3 million
The seven-figure asking price of the BMS Nehmesis comes as no surprise — this is motorcycle that is literally coated with 24-karat gold and is loaded with an ultra-powerful 1700 cc engine.
Price: $1.5 million
Not just a motorcycle but a work of art, the Cosmic Starship is hand-painted by the artist Jack Armstrong for a one-of-a-kind design.
Price: $550,000
The Tomahawk is the only motorcycle on this list not to crack the $1 million mark, but it's still incredibly expensive because of its extremely limited production, powerful V10 engine from a Dodge Viper and a hyper-futuristic (and non-street legal) body design.

Max Verstappen Laughs off FIA Investigation on Incident With Lewis Hamilton

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen opened up on the incident with Lewis Hamilton during the Hungarian Grand Prix, which came under the scanner of the FIA stewards. Verstappen believed there was no need for an investigation since their cars did not make contact. Lap 29 of the race saw Verstappen get very close to Hamilton on Turn 4 as he attempted an overtake. Just as he began to pass the seven-time world champion, Hamilton went off the track before rejoining the race behind Verstappen. From the broadcast, it was unclear if Verstappen made contact with Hamilton that potentially pushed his Ferrari off the racetrack, or if Hamilton reacted to avoid a collision. The FIA began its investigation to ascertain if Verstappen pushed Hamilton off the track to gain an undue advantage, and the verdict was announced after the Grand Prix. The four-time world champion addressed the media before the FIA published its ruling. He said: Max Verstappen of the Netherlands and Oracle Red Bull Racing walks in the Paddock during previews ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of Hungary at Hungaroring on July 31, 2025 in Budapest, Hungary. Max Verstappen of the Netherlands and Oracle Red Bull Racing walks in the Paddock during previews ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of Hungary at Hungaroring on July 31, 2025 in Budapest, Hungary."The thing is that nothing happened. We didn't even touch, that's the thing. So, for me, it's a bit difficult to understand why we have the investigation after the race. "We explained our side. Well, Lewis was not there, but we explained our side of the story. I don't think Lewis actually felt a lot for it, because if he really felt something for it, he's there in the stewards' room, right?" Hamilton started the race in P12 and finished in the same position, while Verstappen started in P8 but finished in P9. He added: "I think both of us didn't have the best of weekends anyway, so that's just that one little thing. What is the more important thing is that we have to look at our performance, which was not good." Elaborating on the incident, Verstappen said: "I went for a move at the inside because it's a fast corner, but with downforce you're a bit more under control anyway. I think he realised very late that I was up the inside there. So then he turned out of it a little bit, and then, of course, went off the track, and that was it. We didn't touch. Nothing happens." The Dutch driver believes there was no point in going to the stewards because neither car made contact. He was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing by the FIA. He said: "I think the problem is that we have so many rules, of course, it's always a complicated matter. It's not always super clear with things. "But it's always a bit weird that you have to go to the stewards for something that you didn't have even a contact or whatever." Ferrari Team Boss Responds to Lewis Hamilton Frustration After Hungarian GP

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Scuderia Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has responded to the comments made by Lewis Hamilton after the Hungarian Grand Prix. Hamilton started from P12 and finished the race in the same position. Newsweek Sports reported the seven-time world champion's statement after he was knocked out of Q2 in qualifying on Saturday. He appeared low while stating that Ferrari should look for another driver because he was "useless." The Grand Prix saw Hamilton struggle to recover positions in his SF-25 F1 car, failing to finish within the points, while his teammate Charles Leclerc finished in P4. After the race, when Hamilton was asked about his comments from the previous day, he said: "Not particularly, when you have a feeling, you have a feeling. There's a lot going on in the background that's not great, so..." Ferrari's British driver Lewis Hamilton (L) and Ferrari's French team principal Frederic Vasseur speak ahead of the first practice session for the 2025 Emilia Romagna Formula One Grand Prix at the Imola autodrome in Imola, on May 16, 2025. More Marco BERTORELLO / AFP/Getty Images "I still love it. I still love racing." Given Hamilton's statement, Vasseur was asked if he was planning on motivating the Briton. He said: "I don't need to motivate him. Honestly, he's frustrated, but not demotivated. You know, it's a completely different story. I can perfectly understand the situation. Sometimes you are making comments on what the driver is saying in the car, but if you put the microphone on some other sportsmen in football and so, I'm not sure that it would be much better. "They are in the performance, and sometimes they are making comments, even when they jump out of the car. I can understand the frustration, but we are all frustrated. And sometimes if you ask me, I can't say this, I will go to the stewards [for swearing]! "But sometimes just after the race or just after the quali [qualifying], you are very disappointed and the first reaction is harsh. But we all know that we are pushing in the same direction." Vasseur understood the reason for Hamilton's frustration and admitted that he is a demanding driver, but emphasized that it is what pushes him to excel. He said: "Yeah, he's demanding. But I think it's also why he's a seven-time world champion, he's demanding with the team, with the car, with the engineers, with the mechanics, with myself also. But first of all, he's very demanding with himself. "It's always been a good motivation for him. The main reason of performance. For sure, when you are a seven-time world champion and your teammate is in pole position, and you are out in Q2, it's tough, it's a tough situation. "But we can also have a deep look, he was in front of Charles in Q1, on the first set, he was one-tenth off in Q2. We are not far away to have the two cars out in Q2. "And the outcome of this is Charles at the end is able to do the pole position, but it's not ... Honestly, the gap was not 1.2 seconds yesterday. But I can understand the frustration from Lewis. This is normal."
