Catching Up With Chuckyy
At just 19 years old, the Lil Durk protégé is pioneering his own distinct drill sound. With hints of horror-core and a refreshing nonchalance, the rising young rapper represents the new era of Chicago rap, also working closely with the city's local legendLUCKI.
Fresh off hisI Live, I Die, I Live Againrelease and a recent performance atLyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash, the rapper is already ready for his new move: a tour, a deluxe edition, and, hopefully, becoming the richest rapper in the world. But first, Chuckyy pulled up to Chinatown for a quick chat about his Chi-town come-up.
Your latest project has been very well-received. Do you pay attention to the reviews and ratings?
I feel very blessed about that. I try not to read the reviews too much, but I appreciate every single person who has poured one out to the album or supported it in any way.
Where did the album title come from?
It's one of my favorite lines, and I think it really emulates the journey of this album and the different stages of life I've been going through. You go up, you go down, but you keep going.
What about the cover art?
The poses are inspired byChuckyon the cover art.
What were some of the biggest sources of inspiration for you on this album?
For this album especially, the fans have been the inspiration. I've been really active with them lately and have been trying to actually listen to what they want from my music.
What does it mean to work with a legend in your city like LUCKI?
I've been listening to LUCKI forever, long before I was even rapping. It's so crazy to get to call him a peer of mine and get to rap together on one of my own tracks. That was the last thing on my checklist, for real. Now I'm done. Now I can really have fun. Shoutout Luck.
Lil Durk is another mentor of yours. Tell me more about his influence on you.
He's such an inspiration to me. To see someone from the same place as me be able to achieve such big things – it's so motivational. It's helped me so much.
You're just 19 – do you ever feel like you're moving too fast?
No sir. I don't think I'm missing out on being a 19-year-old. I don't think I'm growing up too fast. I don't think I'm living too fast.
How do you approach writing songs?
All my tracks come together from scratch. My engineer and I are locked in, and he'll make a beat, send it over, and I'll just hop on it. I'm going to record a song after this interview. I actually sat down and wrote it before. That's crazy. I haven't done that in so long.
What's next for you?
A tour is definitely on my mind. Also, a lot of music. I'm not about cliffhangers. Everything they see is going to drop.
If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be?
Lil Uzi Vert.
What's your most underrated song?
It's called 'King Tut.' It's from when I just started rapping. It still doesn't have a million views.
You've debuted on Billboard, broken millions of streams – what's your 'I made it' moment?
When I'm the richest rapper alive.

Eurovision, the world's largest live music event, to take place in Vienna next year
VIENNA (AP) — The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will take place in Vienna. Austria's public broadcaster ORF, which will organize the world's largest live music event, announced the location Wednesday morning. Following Austrian singer JJ's victory with 'Wasted Love' in Basel this spring, the music competition will be held in May 2026 at the Wiener Stadthalle. 'After thorough examination and based on a unanimous jury assessment, ORF has concluded that Vienna's bid is the most attractive not only in terms of infrastructure and logistics, but also economically,' ORF Director General Roland Weißmann said. Innsbruck also applied to host the event. It will be Vienna's third time as host, following 1967 and 2015. 'As mayor of Vienna, I am naturally delighted that Vienna has prevailed and will once again represent Austria next year. I am convinced that we will have a wonderful May together,' Mayor Michael Ludwig wrote on X. Eurovision's finale will take place May 16 after the semi-finals are held May 12 and 14, 2026. JJ, whose winning song combined operatic, multi-octave vocals with a techno twist, and who also sings at the Vienna State Opera, won the contest in May. JJ, whose full name is Johannes Pietsch, was Austria's third Eurovision winner, after Conchita Wurst in 2014 and Udo Jürgens in 1966. The song contest is always held in the country whose singer won the competition. The last Eurovision song contest, which has been uniting and dividing Europeans since 1956, was watched by 160 million viewers.

Oasis' Noel Gallagher Breaks Silence in First Interview Since Reunion: ‘It's Great Being Back in a Band With Liam'
So far, Oasis have let the music do the talking. Liam and Noel Gallagher have just wound up the first round of UK and Irish dates on their sold-out Live '25 tour and in a testament to the breathless enthusiasm that's greeted their first round of shows in more than 16 years they've hardly had to talk up the dates at all. In fact, until Tuesday (Aug. 19) neither brother had sat down for a proper interview about the shows at all. But Noel, who like his younger sibling singer Liam, is simply mad about football, called in to his favorite drive-time sports chat show, talkSPORT with Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent, to chat about Man City, and, of course, how things are going with the formerly battling brothers. Noel said he's on 'top of the world' at the moment, professing to be 'completely blown away' by how the gigs the reunited band have played so far have been received. 'It's difficult to put into words, actually,' said the band's lyricist. 'Every night is the crowd's first night, so every night's got that same kind of energy. It's been truly amazing… I'm not usually short for words, but I can't really articulate it at the minute.' Summing it up, Noel said simply, 'it's been an amazing thing.' Reflecting on the emotional hug the brothers shared at the end of the first reunion show in July, Noel said, 'we're not those kind of guys, really… It's great just to be back with [guitarist] Bonehead and Liam and just be doing it again. I guess when it's all said and done we'll sit and reflect on it, but it's great being back in a band with Liam. I forgot how funny he was.' Giving his former sibling rival props for sounding great at the shows, Noel said, 'Liam's smashing it. I'm proud of him.' After fronting his own band for the 16 years they were apart — the High Flying Birds — Noel said he knows the pressures of being the lead singer and admitted, 'I couldn't do the stadium thing like he does it…. I kind of look around and I think, 'You know, good for you, mate.' He's been amazing.' Also, in case you were wondering, yes, he's still getting hit up all the time by mates looking to score the hard-to-get tickets. 'When it all started, the ticket sales and all that, there was a few people who I would have expected to [be] looking for tickets who didn't,' he said. Tracee Ellis Ross used a late-night stop to share an awkward moment with a very notable friend. During an Aug. 14 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live—guest-hosted by Nicole Byer—the 52-year-old said she once told former President Barack Obama he had 'failed' her as a friend after a breakup. As Ross remembered it, she ran into Obama and he told her, 'I could have told you that,' about the relationship. 'And I was like, 'Well, you failed as a friend.
