Restaurant branded 'tourist trap' for serving $29 sandwich which would feed 'family of four in Europe'
'I'll have what she's having,' is the infamous line uttered by a woman who witnesses Meg Ryan fake an orgasm while eating a sandwich in When Harry Met Sally.
But you'll have to cough up a whopping $28.95 (£21.63) if you actually want to eat the same meal as her.
Katz's Deli, in New York, has become just as famous for being the filming location for the 1989 film as it has for its delicious pastrami sandwiches.
But, on finding out the price in a recent viral tweet about the mouthwatering Reubens, many have accused the restaurant of being a 'tourist trap'.
Taking to X, Tansu Yegen shared a video of Katz's iconic sandwich being prepped, with the meat being cut up, before put on to a slice of rye bread and topped with melted cheese.
Tansu added: 'The sandwich, sold for $27 (£20.17) in New York, is famous for its generous amount of ingredients…'
Many weren't convinced by the steep price tag, with one person commenting: 'In Europe, that'd be a meal for family of four.'
Another added: 'Generous? It's well paid for.'
And a third joked: 'All respect to Katz, but to pay $27 I'd need to be in a movie theatre located at a baseball game being played in Las Vegas.'
Another hit out: 'Katz deli, really overrated & a total tourist trap. Go to a neighbourhood bodega, a third of the price & twice the quality imo.'
The famous sandwich actually now costs $28.95, with optional extras, according to the Katz's Deli website.
But others think it's worth the money.
MailOnline's deputy travel editor Hayley Minn has patiently stood in the long queue at Katz's waiting to try the sandwich before forking out the money – and thought it was so delicious she went back the second time she was in New York to have it again.
And others on X agree, with one saying: 'Had it a week ago. Worth its weight in gold.'
Another added: 'It's so good and worth it.'

David Harbour explains his dating preference after Lily Allen split
David Harbour has explained why he doesn't date 'normal people' out of the spotlight as he splits from singer Lily Allen. The Thunderbolts actor, 50, married British singer Lily in 2020 after meeting on the celebrity dating app Raya. The pair has split in recent months, but both have remained quiet about the details of their separation. Now, the actor has spoken about the common pitfalls of dating, revealing that there are additional challenges as a celebrity. Speaking to Scarlett Johansson for Interview Magazine, the actor compared his experience to a scene in the new Apple TV series, The Studio. 'They just did an episode where Seth Rogen is the head of a studio and he's dating an oncologist. They go to an event together, and she's like, 'Oh my god, it's so sweet what you do with movies.' He's like, 'Hey, you cure cancer. But once the cancer's cured, people go to the movies and find meaning.' The other doctors start making fun of him and he kind of loses it. 'There's something about that ideology with normal people.' He explained that although he tried to date people who weren't in the entertainment industry when he was young, he finds it challenging. 'I tried to date lawyers and business people in my twenties, but there's something about being a carny freak that normal people don't get.' In late 2024, it was revealed that David and Lily had broken up. Soon after, it emerged he had been back on dating apps while they were still together. It was then claimed he'd also been in a three-year-long secret relationship with a costume designer he met on the set of one of his movies. In February 2025, David then appeared to go public with an aspiring actress and model 22 years his junior. MailOnline reported that Harbour is dating Ellie Fallon, an aspiring model and actress, 22 years younger than him. The couple reportedly met in Atlanta, where Stranger Things season five is being filmed, and they went on a trip to India together around New Year. Lily has been open with her fans that she has been looking after herself after struggling recently. In January, she checked herself into a trauma treatment centre near her US home. A source told MailOnline at the time: 'It was very painful for Lily to return home. David used to be her saviour, and now he's a trigger for her. 'Lily settled her kids back into the family home and took them to school for their new term, then flew herself straight to rehab. 'She went a day earlier than intended as she felt wobbly and desperate to escape.' More Trending At the time, she took a break from her podcast Miss Me? with Miquita Oliver, telling her fans in her last episode before her break that she wasn't 'in a good place'. 'I'm just so … I'm really not in a good place,' she said. 'I know I've been talking about it for months, but I've been spiralling and spiralling and spiralling, and it's got out of control.' 'I just can't concentrate on anything except the pain that I'm going through. 'It's really, really hard. I'm going away next week. You're not gonna hear me for a few weeks, listeners.' Got a story? Brad Pitt 'cuts ties with two of his kids' after bitter divorce from Angelina
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie share a brood of six: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. He is reportedly cutting ties with two of his children Brad Pitt is reportedly cut ties with two of the children he shares with ex-wife Angelina Jolie. The 61-year-old Fight Club actor and Angelina, 50, tied the knot it 2014 after a whirlwind romance that started on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith back in 2005. The pair, once considered a golden couple of Hollywood, parted ways in 2016, sparking a high-profile split that saw Angelina file for divorce in the same year. A series of bitter disputes over custody and business interests followed, some of which remain unresolved - despite them finalising their split this year. The ex-couple's legal wrangles have included battles over their six children and the division of their shared assets, such as their Château Miraval winery located in France - dubbed the battle of rosé. Brad and Angelina share a brood of six: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, both 16. However, Brad has a strained relationship with Pax, who once called him a 'world-class a**hole'. After Pax was pictured stumbling out of the Chateau Marmont with pals last month, a source close to Brad claimed the actor was no longer concerned with "what Pax does or doesn't do". "Brad honestly considers his relationship with Pax unfixable," they added. He is seemingly ready to cut ties with one more child while holding out hope for the remaining children. Shiloh, 19, legally changed her surname last year when she turned 18 to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie, dropping the 'Pitt'. Meanwhile, at least three of the other four kids have informally dropped Brad's surname. Many of the children seem to have a strained relationship with Brad as their other son, Maddox, was allegedly involved in a physical confrontation with the actor on a private jet in 2016. When asked about his relationship with his dad, he told In Touch Weekly in 2019: "Whatever happens, happens." The source went on to tell MailOnline that Brad blames Angelia for the fractured relationship with their kids, but another source claimed the Fight Club star "continues to play the victim". The Mirror have reached out to reps of Brad and Angelina for comment. Brad recently made a very rare comment about the closure of his divorce proceedings. He said "I don't think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally." In a candid GQ interview, Brad touched upon the relentless media attention he's faced, remarking: "It's been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let's put it that way." When Brad and Angelina's divorce was finalised, her lawyer released a statement saying: "Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.' Lawyer James Simon added to the Associated Press: "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago.'

Strictly Come Dancing line-up rumours revealed for 2025
Bosses are reportedly keen to avoid any further controversies this year, and are 'taking no chances' in bookings. Blue Peter presenters Joel Mawhinney and Shini Muthukrishnan are said to be in the running, along with Tom Parker Bowles, Queen Camilla's son. According to the MailOnline, a host of famous faces have already been approached for this year's series, which is set to get underway in September. Other big names reportedly lined up include former I'm A Celebrity winner Georgia Toffolo, Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts, ex-Love Island star Dani Dyer, and former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan. A BBC insider reportedly told MailOnline: "There will be stringent checks, and asking around, and digging into potential stars' backgrounds to make sure that they're not choosing anyone who might damage the show. 'For years, there was the whole Strictly 'curse' where the contestants and professionals kept having affairs. But that stopped. "Changes were made to the partnerships and it worked. There have been other issues in the past couple of years, though. 'Going forward, those at the top want a wholesome image to shine through. No more scandal – just joy." It follows recent controversies on Strictly, where professional dancer Giovanni Pernice was the subject of an internal investigation. Recommended reading: Former BBC Radio Wales host Wynne Evans also issued a public apology for making what he called an 'inappropriate and unacceptable' comment during the Strictly live tour launch in December last year. Earlier this week, EastEnders' actor Jamie Borthwick was also suspended by the BBC after allegedly using a slur against disabled people while filming Strictly in Blackpool. The BBC declined to comment on any speculation regarding this year's series when approached by Newsquest.
