Chinese Woman Sells Sons To Tip Live-Streaming Hosts, Buy Clothes
The woman, Huang, from Guangxi province, used the money to buy clothes and upscale goods, as well as to fund tips for live-streaming hosts, the South China Morning Post reported. She has been sentenced to over five years in prison.
Huang, who was adopted as a child and only completed basic school, first sold her son to a relative, Li, in October 2020 for 45,000 yuan, approximately Rs 5 lakh.
She was unable to raise him due to financial difficulties and due to not knowing who the father was.
Li's family sought adoption due to infertility issues, and Huang allegedly used the entire amount to give generously to live-streamers online, according to the SCMP report.
Officials claimed Huang purposefully had a second child in 2022 to repeat the pattern when the cash ran out. She paid a broker 38,000 Yuan (Rs 4.5 lakh) for her newborn son, Guyu.
The broker then sold him for 103,000 Yuan, approximately Rs 12 lakh. Huang allegedly used all the money earned for self-indulgent expenditures and virtual tipping.
The boys were rescued in April 2022 after authorities received a notification over dubious chat logs that described the children's sale. Following their rescue, the two boys were taken into the custody of the local civil affairs authorities and are currently awaiting adoption.
On July 8, 2025, the Fuzhou Jin'an District People's Court found Huang guilty of fraud and trafficking and sentenced her to five years and two months in prison. She was also fined 30,000 Yuan (approximately Rs 3 lakh).
Huang's accomplices, Li and her former landlord, Wei, were also sentenced to prison: Wei was given a seven-month prison sentence, and Li was handed a nine-month sentence with a one-year suspension for buying a trafficked child.
Human trafficking, particularly involving children, is a recurring problem throughout China, according to experts. Social pressures to carry on the male lineage have long motivated illegal adoptions, but current anti-trafficking laws are a step towards eradicating this scourge.

However, the immediate motive was Rafiq's debt of approximately Rs 2 crore, which prompted his desperate search for money, they added. The conspiracy was hatched when Rafiq travelled to Delhi for court proceedings related to a previous case. There, he encountered Amit through advocates. After sharing his predicament, Amit offered a solution, claiming knowledge of individuals experienced in kidnapping and extortion operations, according to the police. The group of four met regularly and during one evening while drinking at Amit's lodge, they conceived the plan to impersonate Lawrence Bishnoi, according to the police. This decision was influenced by social media videos and reels about the gangster that they had watched online. Rafiq allegedly provided logistical support for his UP-based accomplices who made the extortion call. Investigations have uncovered that the suspects brought a countrymade pistol from Uttar Pradesh and the police are yet to recover it.

Car from which shot was fired at Fazilpuria rented by a 19-yr-old boy
Gurgaon: A day after a bullet was allegedly fired at the car of singer and rapper Rahul Yadav, better known as Fazilpuria, in Sector 71 on Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), police said on Tuesday they had identified the car from which the gunshot came – a Punch registered in the name of Sushil Kumar, a Sonipat resident who runs a car rental business. Kumar had rented the car – HR10 AS 1259 – to 19-year-old Gautam, also a Sonipat resident (Dipalpur village), from 10.40am on July 11 for Rs 2,200 per day. The car was tracked down using GPS installed in it by its owner and was found abandoned near Bilaspur on Monday night. Police said they had identified the suspect but did not specify if it was Gautam. Gautam was issued his driving licence on Jan 23 this year. Woman arrested for duping five job-seekers of Rs 62.5 lakh
Berhampur: A 32-year-old woman from Bhubaneswar was arrested on Monday for alleged involvement in duping job-seekers with fake promises of railway jobs, police said on Tuesday. The accused, Subhalaxmi Rout, allegedly posed as a travelling ticket examiner (TTE) and collected Rs 62.50 lakh from five job-seekers. She is reportedly involved in at least three other criminal cases. A special police team seized two bank passbooks from her possession during the arrest. On Friday, police had arrested Bighneswar Rao Dora (50) of Kukudakhandi, another member of the racket. "Some other people are also involved in the fake job racket. We have identified them and are trying to arrest them," said SP Saravana Vivek M. According to the preliminary investigation, on March 18, 2023, the job-seekers met Dora at Digapahandi, where he allegedly assured them of railway jobs, claiming to be well-connected with senior officials. He demanded money from each candidate and later took them to Bhubaneswar, introducing them to Rout and another person. The victims were shown fake joining and posting letters and taken to Kolkata by train for medical tests at Sealdah. In the following weeks, they received various fake appointment letters through email. When they suspected foul play, they failed to reach the accused by phone and later confronted them in Kolkata, but the racketeers allegedly pressured them to bring in more unemployed people and collect money from them. One of the victims eventually lodged an FIR at Berhampur Sadar police station on July 10.
