Sporting Witness Goalie v Gull
Dutch goalkeeper Eddy Treijtel played for Rotterdam giants, Feyenoord, more than 300 times. But one of his most talked about moments happened during a game against city rivals Sparta Rotterdam, in 1970. His goal kick, meant to pick out a striker, instead hit and killed a seagull. The dead bird was later stuffed and now resides in the club's museum. Eddy tells Johnny I'Anson about the moment that would go down in football folklore. Eye-witness accounts brought to life by archive and testimony. Sporting Witness is for those fascinated by sporting history. We take you to the events that have shaped the sports world through the eyes of the people who were there. For nine minutes, you become a fan in the stands as we take you back in time to examine memorable victories and agonising defeats from all over the world. You'll hear from people who have achieved sporting immortality, or those who were there as incredible sporting moments unfolded. Recent episodes explore the forgotten football Women's World Cup, the plasterer who fought a boxing legend, international football's biggest ever beating and the man who swam the Amazon river. We look at the lives of some of the most famous F1 drivers, tennis players and athletes as well as people who've had ground-breaking impact in their chosen sporting field, including: the most decorated Paralympian, the woman who was the number 1 squash player in the world for nine years, and the first figure skater to wear a hijab. You can learn all about fascinating and surprising stories, such as the tennis player who escaped the Nazis, how a man finally beat a horse in a race, and how the FIFA computer game was created. BREAKING NEWS Mauricio Pochettino shuts down 'unrealistic' Tottenham links and claims he is 'so happy' with USA one year out from the World Cup
United States men's national team coach and former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino threw water on rumors that he could return to north London. On Friday, the Europa League champions announced they had sacked manager Ange Postecoglu, who broke a 17-year title drought for the club. Answering a question asked by Daily Mail after a 2-1 loss to Turkey, Pochettino indicated that the rumors were not realistic and that his name was one of many linked with the job. 'I think, since I left in 2019, my name has always been on the list [of rumors],' Pochettino said in the press conference. 'I've seen the rumors, we are 100 coaches on the list. Don't be worried about that. If something happens, we'll see, but we cannot talk about this type of thing. 'Today it's not realistic, look where I am, look where we are. The answer is so clear.'

I try to think of them just like a shot really, like a driver, like a six-iron, whatever. It's just a shot."It wasn't that hard for me to stay focused into what I was doing and not ruining [it] at the end."Manassero will be chasing his first PGA Tour title, while Fox is seeking a second just a month after his first triumph on the tour at the Myrtle Beach Classic."Obviously there's a lot of good players behind me," said Fox. "I feel like it's going to take a pretty low [score] to get the job done." Lee Hodges and Kevin Yu both shot seven under par rounds of 63 and sit one back along with Matt McCarty.
