Crews warn visitors to keep away from Langdale Moor fire
People visiting the scene of a major moorland wildfire to take photos have been asked to stay away, as crews remain at the fire broke out near RAF Fylingdales on Langdale Moor near Pickering, North Yorkshire, last Monday its peak, 19 fire appliances were at the scene and a major incident was declared. Fire crews have been tackling a blaze at a derelict mill that saw a large plume of black smoke rise above fire broke out just before 19:00 BST on Saturday at the building in Cinderhill Works in the Siddal Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) said 11 crews were sent to the scene, using large jets and an aerial appliance to put out the fire. The service said its control room received 80 calls within five minutes when the smoke was first seen.
