2026 Ford Mustang FX Package Is for Gen X'ers Who Really Want a New Fox Body

It might hurt you to hear this, but the Fox Body Ford Mustang is a classic now. Enough time has passed for Ford to commemorate it on the current-gen S650 Mustang with a configurable Fox Body-themed digital gauge layout, and now, there's something new. It's called the FX Package, and Ford is making a direct tie-back to the 1980s model with special paint options, wheel designs, and—get this—colored seat belts.
Before you ask, yeah, I'm pretty sure Ford knew what it was doing when it painted the car's nostrils Oxford White. That's arguably the most '80s touch of them all, but the wheels are right up there, too. They come in two styles: one is a riff on the Mustang's existing 19-inch five-spoke, while the other, pictured in this blog, is unique to the Performance package and inspired by the Fox Body. No matter which one you get, they'll be painted in (you guessed it) Cocaine White. I mean, Oxford White.
Ford also developed the new Adriatic Blue Metallic paint that you see here for 2026. You might remember that the third-gen 'Stang rocked a very similar teal hue. In addition to that, Ford is bringing back Orange Fury Metallic Tricoat for the first time since 2019. Both can be optioned on Mustang EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse models, even without the FX Package.
The design team didn't let up on the interior, either. The Mustang GT's Recaro bucket seats feature perforated black and white elements that call back to the Fox Body's plaid inserts. Plop down in one of those, reach over your shoulder, and grab the seatbelt that's stitched in International Orange, Prime Blue, or Black with a red stripe depending on how it's spec'd. Then there's all the white trim work and badging, which uses a special font meant to remind you of the car's iconic predecessor.
Anybody who wants the FX Package will need to buy a Mustang GT Premium model, though it can be applied to convertibles or coupes with the six-speed Tremec manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. Ford hasn't announced pricing yet, so expect that to come out closer to when order banks open in late June.
I could definitely go for one of these in convertible form with the stick-shift, that way I can hear the 5.0-liter Coyote and let it rev as much as I please. I'm not usually a drop-top kind of guy, but hey, it's all cosplay at this point, isn't it? I also don't have new Mustang money but you don't see that stopping me from pretending.

And when asked if he thinks his relationship with Musk is over, Trump said, 'I would assume so, yeah.' He added that he has 'no intention of speaking' to Musk anytime soon, saying 'I'm too busy doing other things' and accusing Musk of disrespecting the presidency. 'I think it's a very bad thing, because he's very disrespectful. You could not disrespect the office of the President,' Trump said. The comments came after Musk, who once embraced the moniker 'first buddy' to Trump, appeared to make attempts at de-escalating their feud. On Saturday, he deleted his X posts about Trump's association with the infamous Jeffrey Epstein. On Thursday night, Musk replied to a post from Pershing Square CEO Bill Ackman calling for peace between the tech billionaire and Trump, saying 'You're not wrong.' Also on Thursday, Musk backtracked on a threat to decommission SpaceX Dragon vehicles, which have become workhorse capsules that the Pentagon and NASA rely on to access Earth orbit. But the damage was already done. Musk had suggested Trump should be impeached, took credit for Trump's election victory, and said his tariffs would cause a recession later this year. That's after trashing Trump's tax and spending bill in the days leading up to their meltdown. Trump's signal that Musk is now persona non grata dashes hopes from top Republicans like Vice President JD Vance and House Speakers Mike Johnson who said they hoped the two men would reconcile. Meanwhile, Trump also warned Musk—who was the top GOP donor last year with nearly $300 million in campaign contributions—against backing Democrats. 'If he does, he'll have to pay the consequences for that,' Trump told NBC News, without elaborating. 'He'll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that.' For his part, Musk asked X users on Thursday if it's time to form a new political party 'that actually represents the 80% in the middle,' drawing support from 80% of respondents. Single-lane closures scheduled for Victory Boulevard Widening Project
YORK CO., Va. (WAVY) – Starting June 9, long-term single-lane closures will be in effect on Victory Boulevard as a part of the Virginia Department of Transportation's (VDOT) roadway widening project. The left westbound lane between Hampton Highway and George Washington Memorial Highway will be closed, as well as the inside left-turn lane between Victory Boulevard and George Washington Memorial Highway. The closures are expected to be in place through early July, with additional closures on Victory Boulevard from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. when needed. Vance Responds in Real Time to Musk's Trump-Epstein Bombshell
JD Vance has slammed Elon Musk for launching an all-out campaign of hate against President Donald Trump following the Tesla CEO's social media meltdown earlier this week. 'I just think it's a huge mistake for the world's wealthiest man, I think one of the most transformational entrepreneurs ever, to be at war with the world's most powerful man, who I think is doing more to save our country than anybody in my lifetime,' the vice president said. 'I just think you've got to have some respect for him and say, 'yeah, we don't have to agree on every issue',' he went on. 'But is this war actually in the interest of the country? I don't think so.' Vance's comments, made during a sit-down with podcaster Theo Von released Saturday, follow Musk lighting a match to his already fraying relationship with Trump on Tuesday, and then proceeding to pour several gallons of kerosene over the resulting blaze in the days since. The feud first kicked off after Musk described the president's 'Big Beautiful Bill', which contains spending proposals for many of the Trump administration's flagship policies, as 'a massive, outrageous, pork-filled[,] disgusting abomination' that threatens to 'defeat all of the cost savings achieved' by DOGE. Musk had led the White House government efficiency drive, taking an axe to federal programs and government departments as well as scything away an estimated two million federal jobs, until stepping down last week after reaching the 130 day limit granted to 'special government employees.' Things escalated drastically after Trump said Thursday he was 'very disappointed' by the tech broligarch's criticism of his administration's spending proposals, adding that 'Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will anymore.' Musk responded later that night on X later that night, publishing a series of posts in which he lamented Trump's 'ingratitude' and claimed the president would have lost the election were in not for the estimated quarter of a billion dollars the Tesla CEO invested in his campaign. He later proposed the formation of a new political party, at one point appearing to position himself as a prospective leader of that movement, and even accused Trump in a now-deleted tweet of refusing to publish the full 'Epstein Files' for fear of revealing the alleged extent of his relationship with the deceased financier and convicted pedophile sex trafficker. Musk's increasingly erratic behavior also follows after a bombshell report by The New York Times on his alleged drug habits, which include reportedly abusing ketamine with such regularity as to have given him issues with his bladder, a common symptom of chronic use. Despite suffering perhaps one of the most spectacular public meltdowns in U.S. political history, vice president Vance appears to think there may still be scope for the SpaceX founder to eventually find his way back into Trump's good graces. 'Hopefully, Elon figures it out, comes back into the fold. I know the president was getting a little frustrated, feeling like some of the criticisms were unfair coming from Elon. But I think it has been very restrained, because the president doesn't think that he needs to be in a blood feud with Elon Musk,' Vance told Von on Saturday. 'I actually think that if Elon chilled out a little bit everything would be fine,' he added.
