'Neighbour parks van across drive if I pop out for 5 mins it's there'
A homeowner has shared their aggravation over a neighbour who stubbornly parks his van at the end of their driveway and shows irritation when asked to move it.
Venting their exasperation on Reddit, the distressed resident wrote: "The first day we moved in, he was parked in our drive, we kindly asked him to move and thought that would be that. However since then, he often parks in front of the drive and on the pavement, restricting our access.
"I've spoken to him several times in addition to his girlfriend/wife, he seemed annoyed at being asked and continues to do so. I've taken to parking my car on the road, however having popped out for 5 minutes just now he's come back and blocked me again. There's ample room for him to move back.
"I've reported to Birmingham council 100s of times but obviously they've done nothing. I own my home but believe them to be renting. Should I contact their estate agent? Landlord? Or any other thing I could do to get them to stop blocking my access?".
Suggestions flooded in for dealing with inconsiderate neighbours - one of the cheeky tips was an early wake-up call. A user admitted, "Wake him up at 3am because you need to go and get bread."
Which got this reply: "This is absolutely the way. We used to live in a house that had a garage block, and most of the neighbours were rentals. Every time new people moved in they would block me in. I used to leave home at 5:30 to go to the gym. It only ever needed one early morning wake up call for them to get the message."
Another shared their success story: "This works, can confirm. Got home at about 04:00 to find neighbour blocking my drive, had a trailer so could not park elsewhere. Leaned on his doorbell and woke the whole house, never did again."
On the subject of taking it further, a Reddit user queried, "You contacted the police? This might count as antisocial behavior if its a constant issue."
In terms of the law the Ask the Police Website, which is created by the Police National Legal Database), a national organisation managed by West Yorkshire Police, said the person could be breaking the law - if the local council has adopted the Civil Parking Enforcement ruiles.
It said: "If the vehicle is blocking access to your driveway you should first make enquiries with the neighbours to see if they know who the car belongs to, so they can move it. In most areas local councils have now taken on responsibility for enforcing parking provisions under what is known as Civil Parking Enforcement (CPE). Yesterday, Casey-Louise's loved ones shared two new photographs of the schoolgirl on a tribute site shared by the funeral directors. One showed her cradling her baby sister, Mia, while in another she is stood next to a family friend. One moving tribute from her 'best mate', named Cole, said: "RIP Casey you'll be missed so much. Can't believe you left us so early, you're flying with the angels now, fly high, love you lots my thunder buddie in the sky." Her aunt, Dani, said that she missed her "so much" and she would be "Forever 13". Paula Mills wrote: "Fly high with the angels beautiful girl. The schoolgirl was found by paramedics 'unresponsive' last Monday night. She died later in hospital. West Yorkshire Police arrested the boy, who lives in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, on suspicion of Casey-Louise's rape and murder and the alleged rape of another local girl, aged 16. He was released on conditional police bail pending further enquiries on Friday, August 15. A neighbour said: 'I saw him come home on Friday lunchtime and he can't have spent more than 15 minutes in the house before he was heading out again. 'He left through the gate and jogged away, probably off to meet his mates. 'He is acting like he doesn't have a care in the world.' Another local said: 'He is well known in the area and you would think he would be keeping a low profile under the circumstances. 'I mean, a young lass has died and I think he should show a bit more respect. Maybe stop in and not go out so much.' Today new photographs of Casey-Louise, including one of her cradling what is believed to be her baby sister, Mia, were posted by friends and relatives on a tribute site online. In a statement, Mossley Hollins High School, in Manchester, where Casey-Louise was a pupil, said they were 'heartbroken' at the death of the 'big-hearted' youngster. 'We are heartbroken by the loss of Casey‑Louise, a one-of-a-kind young person who brought spirit and warmth wherever she went,' the statement said. 'Casey was bright, full of character, always full of life, and never afraid to be herself. Those lucky enough to know her saw what a big heart she had. 'She was funny, sweet, had a smile that could brighten anyone's day and will be deeply missed by our school community. 'This heartbreaking news has deeply affected our community and as we come to terms with this loss, our thoughts are with Casey-Louise's family, loved ones and all those impacted at this incredibly difficult time.' Pupils will be offered emotional support when they return in September, the statement added. Casey-Louise was found unresponsive by emergency services just after 11.30pm last Monday, August 11. She was taken to hospital but died in the early hours of the following day. A postmortem was inconclusive and it is understood police are awaiting the results of toxiocology tests and a second autopsy to try and establish her cause of death. Originally from Manchester, Casey-Louise was in local authority care when she died. She had been living in Liverpool and was just visiting Huddersfield at the time of her death. Friend Tina Cooper also set up an online fundraiser for the youngster's funeral. So far more than £2,000 has been donated. She said: 'Casey was a vibrant happy 13-year-old with all her life ahead of her. 'Our hearts go out to Casey's family. No one should have to bury their child. Let's help her family send their daughter on her final journey with dignity.' Bryan Kohberger can SUE over leaked jail footage after investigation launched into ‘shocking clip from inside his cell'
BRYAN Kohberger would have grounds to sue over alleged leaked footage of him alone in his jail cell, an expert has claimed. The clip was published and widely shared on Reddit and other social media platforms on Friday, appearing to show the Idaho student killer, 30, in his cell with bright red hands just weeks after his sentencing. 6 6 6 It comes after reports Kohberger suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder and regularly washes his hands. The Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) issued a statement after the video circulated online, warning that it was a violation of their code if real - but was potentially fake or AI produced. "While we cannot yet confirm the veracity of the videos, if verified, they are a clear violation of IDOC policy, and the parties responsible will be held accountable, up to and including termination," it said. "We caution that some videos may be fake or AI-enhanced." The IDOC confirmed it's "investigating the matter." The U.S. Sun is chosing not to publish the full clip until its authenticity and origin is confirmed. In the footage, a man is seeing walking from one side of the jail cell to another and is then seen placing an item on top of a makeshift rack. Kohberger is supposedly seen in the video staring up at the shelf and looking around as he shows no emotion. Criminal defense attorney John W. Day told The U.S. Sun that Kohberger himself would have grounds to sue if the video is real. He also alleged that if the clip was filmed by a prison staffer and leaked online, they could also be fired and hit with a civil suit by their employer, he alleged. The U.S. Sun has reached out to the IDOC for further comment and Kohberger's lawyer, but did not hear back. The IDOC's statement also added that staff had been warned about sharing infomation about the killer behind bars. "On July 23 and again on July 25, IDOC leadership sent two emails to staff reminding them of our policies and expectations concerning professionalism and the appropriate use of technology and social media," it said. "Videotaping and publicly sharing security footage is prohibited conduct, and we will be reviewing all legal options, including criminal prosecution." They added, "The safety and security of our staff and incarcerated population remain our top priority." The sentencings will run consecutively to one another. JAIL SPECULATION It is not clear where the video could have been filmed, as Kohberger has been in more than one jail. But the IDOC's statement appears to confirm it looks like the inside of the prison. Kohberger is currently being held at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution, but previously spent time at the Ada County Jail and the Latah County Jail. Due to the size of his cell, many social media users have speculated it could have been taken at Ada County. The Ada County Sheriff's Office refuted the speculation in a statement on their Facebook page, however. 'We are aware of the video footage circulating online showing Bryan Kohberger in a cell. We can confirm it was not recorded at and does not feature the Ada County Jail," they said. Former criminology student Kohberger was handed four life sentences plus 10 years without the possibility of parole last month after accepting a plea deal over the murders of four University of Idaho students. Kohberger is now known as inmate number 163214 and is allegedly housed in the medical unit. He was due to go to trial in August for the fatal stabbings of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin in an off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13, 2022. He was studying for a Ph.D. in criminology at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, at the time of the murders. Kohberger was arrested at his parents' home in Pennsylvania weeks after the tragedy as police closed in on him. They had linked him to the crime scene using DNA recovered from a knife sheath, according to a probable cause affidavit. His cell phone location data and surveillance footage of a car the same make and model as his own also helped investigators to allegedly place him at the scene. Since he was convicted, authorities have publicly released hundreds of documents relating to his case. One inmate recalled how Kohberger quickly immersed himself in TV coverage of his arrest when he was first locked up in early January 2023. But they claimed he would change the channel if his family or friends were mentioned. The man described the killer as "highly intelligent and analytical," though lacking in basic knowledge about ordinary things such as cars. "His eyes were… creepy, I guess, but other than that, he seemed like a pretty normal guy," he added. Kohberger's compulsive cleaning habits were impossible to ignore, according to the documents.
