David Licauco, Jillian Ward not worried about chemistry in 'Never Say Die' despite age gap

David Licauco and Jillian Ward are not worried about building their chemistry in their upcoming series "Never Say Die" despite their large age gap. In an interview with GMA News Online on the sidelines of the GMA Gala 2025, the Pambansang Ginoo admitted initially feeling a little uncertain about their tandem. "To be honest with you, the first thing na naisip ko is babagay kaya? 'Di ba, to be completely honest," he said. "Pero s'yempre kahit naman sino maiisip 'yun kung bago 'yung makakasama mo sa isang teleserye." "But Jillian is such a great actress and I'd like to think na OK naman ako so I think it will work," he added. Asked about their age difference—David is 31 and while Jillian is 20—the actor said it will all boil down to their acting. "Well mukha pa naman kasi akong 19 eh. Joke lang," he quipped. Jillian, meanwhile, said she is grateful for the opportunity to work with David. "Feeling ko may matututunan ako sa kanya. For sure mas marami siyang alam compared sa akin so I wanna learn from him," the Star of the New Gen told GMA News Online. Asked if there is some awkwardness between them at first, Jillian said there was none because of her long experience as a child actress. "Parang wala naman po lalo na especially ako ang dami ko na rin pong naka-work na of all ages, iba-ibang age so far," she said. "Never Say Die" held their story conference last week. David and Jillian lead a star-studded cast that includes Kim Ji Soo, Richard Yap, Raheel Bhyria, Angelou De Leon, Analyn Barro, Wendell Ramos, Raymart Santiago, and more. —CDC, GMA Integrated News
