Billy Ray Cyrus's ex-wife Tish reflects on 'hard times' of their marriage as he debuts new Elizabeth Hurley romance
's ex-wife Tish Cyrus has reflected on the 'hard times' of their marriage and admitted she was 'just surviving and getting through every day' when their children were younger.
Tish, 57, revealed the difficulties she handled when raising five children while the country star, 63, was 'on the road a lot' during an episode of her podcast Sorry We're Cyrus, which was released on April 24.
Joined by her daughter Noah Cyrus, 25, she spoke about the 'crazy period' in her life where she suffered with anxiety and her children 'didn't know what to do'.
The episode is thought to have been recorded before Billy went public with his new relationship with Elizabeth Hurley, 59, with pals claiming that they're set to marry.
In an emotional conversation, Noah told her mother how 'proud' she is of her for getting through the tricky times.
The singer said: 'You got yourself through such a hard time and I'm proud of you. Like, you did that. You are the one that does the work. You did do it yourself.'
Noah continued: 'I didn't get the anxiety out of you. I was just there to be there for you but it's you that gets yourself out of that, it's not anybody else. So that's something to really be proud of yourself for and that's why I'm so proud of you because you did that.
'And there were times that we really didn't know what to do and as a daughter I'm more than grateful and blessed that my mom is sitting next to me really happy and healthy and doing okay because that is the number one priority in my world.'
Getting emotional, Tish said: 'It was a crazy period but here we are.'
Candid chat: Tish opened up about her marriage and motherhood will chatting with her daughter Noah
Tish has been candid about the month-long 'complete psychological breakdown' she suffered before divorcing Billy Ray.
She made the decision to leave the singer in 2020 – the same year her mum died.
Later in the podcast episode, a listener sent in a question about what it means to be a good mother.
Tish said: 'I think we all question if we're a good mom and put so much judgement on ourselves when we're parenting and especially looking back on.
'When you're so in the moment, especially when you have five kids, you're just surviving and getting through every day the best that you can. Especially when you're a single parent. Your dad was on the road so much and it is tough.
'I was stressed. Moving to California and dealing with school and homeschool and sets. It was a lot but I think if you can step back.. now I've learned to step back and look at the bigger picture instead of being so in the moment, I've chilled out so much.'
Touching moment: Noah sweetly praised her mom and gave her a tight hug
Tish continued: 'But it's tough out there when your kids are small. When you have a big family it is really, really rough. Another thing I've learned is just to be kind to yourself.'
Last year, Tish opened up on the 'breakdown' during an appearance on the Call Me Daddy podcast with her daughter Brandi.
Tish revealed that Billy went to Tennessee during the Covid pandemic while she stayed in California where Miley, 31, lives.
While smoking a joint, Tish said: 'During that period, I took a really good, hard look at life, my life, and like, "What was I gonna do?"
'Because it had not been in a good place for a long time. And I think I did stay so long out of fear of being alone. Like I had met him when I was 23, 24.'
Tish added that the pandemic helped her gain the strength she needed to be able to leave Billy Ray.
The two lived in different places for the first few years of the pandemic with Tish remaining at their California home will Billy Ray stayed in Tennessee.
Tish said: 'So being alone, and all of a sudden just having kind of the weight of the world off my shoulders, and I was able to just breathe.
'And smoke pot and garden, and go skinny dipping in my pool. That's what I did during COVID. It was hugely transformative.'
Fan question: Later in the episode a listener asked what it means to be a good mother
Another chat: Last year, Tish opened up about her 'breakdown' on the Call Me Daddy podcast with daughter Brandi
The early days of the pandemic were especially heard for Tish as she received the news that her mother had died in August 2020.
She said: 'I was alone during that time, I had to go through it alone, and I literally can't believe I did that.
'It was so crazy, my two biggest fears in life were being alone and my mom passing away. And I had one month of a complete psychological breakdown.'
The period sent her entire world into a tailspin as she detailed what an incredibly hard time it was for her.
Tish explained: 'It was the worst thing, it was not good... Kind of pushed the mom thing under the rug, and then the divorce thing came.
'I could not eat, I could not sleep, I could not stop crying. I don't have my mom, and then I don't have my husband that has been my husband for 30 years. Like I'm scared.'
The new podcast episode was released as Elizabeth Hurley revealed the true depth of her feelings for Billy Ray after the pair shocked the word with their romance last month.
The pair shared a loved up snap to Instagram on Wednesday where they were locked in a passionate kiss in a post just days after they announced their romance.
And the model revealed that it is true love as she commented a black heart emoji before writing, 'you xx'.
The pair's unexpected romance comes just over two years after the pair met on the set of their 2022 holiday movie Christmas In Paradise, which was shot in the Caribbean.
Elizabeth's son Damian seems to be in full support of the new couple as he commented on the post: 'Awwww,' with a red love heart emoji.
Last week, Billy Ray broke his silence on the relationship while appearing on Apple Music Country's The Ty Bentli Show.
He revealed that Elizabeth has reached out to him during a difficult period in his life.
The singer said: 'I felt like, 'Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?' For me, at a certain point it was like, you can't get knocked down any flatter than laying on your back when life is kicking you.
'And in this moment... a friend reached out.'
According to Billy Ray, Elizabeth's message read something along the lines of: 'Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I'm in your corner; you've got a friend in your corner.'
Upon receiving her text, the singer admitted that he 'didn't even know the number.'
Billy Ray said: 'So, I text back, I go, "Who is this?" And it's like, "Elizabeth Hurley." Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most… this friend who made me laugh.'
Although they hadn't spoken in 'two years' after wrapping their 2022 holiday film, Billy instantly remembered that 'there was a chemistry' between them on set during their 'very few scenes together.'
He said: 'We just laughed, and it was at a time I wasn't laughing a lot. The oddest part was first, how much we laughed.
'Second, I figured we were so different but in some very strange way we had way more in common than we had different.'
Christmas In Paradise was shot in the Caribbean, not long after he separated from ex-wife Tish in April 2022 after 28 years of marriage.

Nobody Wants This fans say the same thing as Netflix cast confirm season 2 release date
Nobody Wants This season two was confirmed just one month after the romantic-comedy dropped on Netflix last year WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Nobody Wants This. Nobody Wants This season two's release date has been unveiled with the main cast given the job of announcing exactly when it will be out. Season one of Adam Brody and Kristen Bell's new rom-com series took the world by storm last year as Netflix fans couldn't get enough of Rabbi Noah and podcaster Joanne's turbulent romance. It took less than a month for the streamer to confirm the show's future and thankfully, there will be more to come from Noah, Joanne and their meddling families with series two on the way. The main cast made up of Bell, Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn featured in a video where they get a Magic 8 ball to answer questions about series two. Brody was disappointed to get 'try again loser' as he asked if Noah's basketball team Matzah Ballers would make it to the play-offs and Lupe celebrated as she received a 'Mazel Tov' on Morgan finding love this time around. Bell then asked: 'What is coming on October 23?', prompting the Magic 8 ball to reply 'Ask a Rabbi'. Brody then took his cue and replied: 'And the Rabbi says, season two [of] your favourite show and mine, Nobody Wants This.' Following the announcement, fans flooded to YouTube and X, formerly Twitter, to express their excitement with many sharing that they 'cannot wait' for the new episodes. Some fans though couldn't help but comment on the quick turn around with series two's release date announced less than a year since the first outing. A user remarked: 'I'm genuinely shocked! A show that has its second season released only a year after the first one?! 'I never thought I'd see that happen again! Usually shows take two years before another season releases!' A second agreed: 'Happy to hear. It feels kinda fast in a good way. Shows have been taking forever to come back on.' Another added: 'The turnaround on this to season two soooo good ! Well done to all involved.' 'Finally a show when you don't have to wait 2 3 years for a new season,' someone else remarked. A new casting announcement has already been made with Gossip Girl legend and Brody's real-life wife Leighton Meester joining for Nobody Wants This season two. It has been revealed that Meester is going to play Abby, Joanne's school nemesis who now works as an Instagram mommy influencer.

Coronation Street fans speculate Billy Mayhew's exit as actor Daniel Brocklebank is 'axed'
ITV Coronation Street fans fear that they know how Billy Mayhew will be leaving the cobbles, following the news that actor Daniel Brocklebank will be departing the ITV soap Coronation Street enthusiasts reckon they've sussed out the way Billy Mayhew will bow out of the show, and it's set to be quite the tearjerker. Billy, portrayed by Daniel Brocklebank, first walked on to the street in 2014, swiftly becoming a beloved character. His journey has been peppered with intense storylines ranging from murder to struggles with addiction. Beyond the challenging plots he's faced, Billy's romantic connections have kept viewers gripped, seeing him entangled with characters like Todd Grimshaw (played by Gareth Pierce) and his late spouse Paul Foreman (portrayed by Peter Ash). Tragedy struck Billy last year with the loss of Paul, who succumbed to motor neurone disease, leaving him distraught. In an unexpected twist, it was announced this month that actor Daniel will exit the soap following a compelling storyline yet to unfold on our screens, reports Leicestershire Live. Coronation Street's executive producer Kate Brooks revealed intriguing details about the upcoming narrative arc that will mark the end of Billy's stint in Weatherfield. Speaking to the Mirror, she divulged: "Billy will be involved in a major storyline over the coming months, which will see him tested in ways he never imagined, as friendships and his faith are pushed to the limit." As speculation mounts, the belief of how Billy will depart grows stronger amongst viewers. Recently on the soap, as fans would have observed, Todd Grimshaw sparked a relationship with the new character Theo Silverton (played by James Cartwright), which hasn't been all smooth sailing given Theo's revelation of being a married father of two. Theo opened his heart to Todd, revealing the harrowing ordeal of being coerced into conversion therapy by his deeply religious parents to alter his sexuality. However, Theo's past stormed back last week when a familiar face, Noah, turned up at the Rovers and cozied up with Billy. Struck by the sight of Noah—who works alongside Billy in the church—Theo confessed to Todd that Noah had been involved in his traumatic conversion therapy experience. Infuriated by this revelation, Todd confronts Noah, only to be appalled by Noah's unchanged stance on homosexuality as a sin. Now, Coronation Street fans are anxious that Noah may feature heavily in the plot leading to Billy's departure from the show. Amidst online speculation on a fan page, one viewer expressed: "Why do I have a feeling this Noah fella is going to contribute to Billy's downfall and eventual exit?" Agreement quickly followed from another concerned fan: "Exactly what I said." A third voiced their prediction: "Yep a conversation therapy storyline I think for them." Contemplating a darker scenario, another mused over the potential for a tragic end for Billy, suggesting either suicide or murder could be his fate: "Poor Billy! Maybe it will end with him taking his life? Or is murdered?"

Miley Cyrus took on mum's 'hurt' after painful Billy Ray divorce
Miley Cyrus has opened up about being caught in the middle of the collapse of the relationship and marriage of her parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish who divorced in 2023 after 30 years together Miley Cyrus has explained why she changed her mind over the difficult relationship her parents Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus endured. The 32-year-old singer and actress has said that she can appreciate the lives and actions of her parents differently now that she is an adult. Miley - who divorced her husband, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, 35, in 2020 after two years of marriage - has claimed she took on some of the pain her mother felt while Tish and Billy Ray struggled in their marriage. Achy Breaky Heart singer Billy Ray and manager Tish tied-the-knot in 1993. The marriage ended in 2023, however, and Miley thinks the music industry may have contributed to the collapse of the romance. It has been documented that the end of the marriage caused a rift within the family, with claims that Miley grew distant from her father. However, the Flowers singer has now reconnected with her dad after years of estrangement, and feels she can look at his past actions through new eyes. In a new interview, the star opened up about her changing thoughts. She told the New York Times:"As I've gotten older, I'm respecting my parents as individuals instead of as parents - because my mom really loved my dad for her whole life, and I think being married to someone in the music industry and not being a part of it is obviously really hard." Miley went on to explain how her empathy for her mother led her to "take on" some of her emotions. She said: "[I] took on some of my mom's hurt as my own because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult, and so I owned a lot of her pain." The Hannah Montana star went on to explain she has a strong bond with her mum's new husband, the actor Dominic Purcell, and also said she is glad to see her father moving on, too. Billy Ray made headlines in April when it was revealed he had embarked on a romance with Elizabeth Hurley. Miley also explained that she isn't fazed by the fact that her family drama can lead to headlines. She said: "The thing I like about the new way that the world works is that everything is so fast. In the '90s, when something happened in a tabloid, remember how it would happen for a year? Now it's just gone." She explained she has "gotten so used to it that I'm like, 'If this is the symptom -- that sometimes we deal with these embarrassing or difficult public opinions -- then that's something I'm willing to take to have the life that we have.'" Billy Ray and Tish divorced after 30 years in 2023 and went on to find new love, with Tish marrying Dominic that same year. While Billy Ray is said to be happy with British acting icon Elizabeth, he did endure a difficult relationship in the intervening years. He was married to Australian singer Johanna Rose Hodges, who performs under the name Firerose. The pair tied the knot in October 2023 after a year of dating, and had also reportedly known each other for 10 years. Firerose had worked on the set of Hannah Montana, with Billy Ray meeting her through the fact that his daughter was the star of the show. But the marriage collapsed last year, and they filed for divorce in May 2024. The divorce was finalised in August last year.
